5.0 out of 5 stars Rugged environmental protection without the bulk an Ottorbox defender, July 21, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It is not possible to fully appreciate the New Trent Trentium unless you have had experience with the Otterbox Defender. Both offer better than average protection from moisture and shock, but the Trentium is much easier and faster to use to enclose an iPhone 5/5s, and the fit and finish is considerably better than the Otterbox Defender with the resulting seams being tighter, more uniform and better fitting to the case and phone. The exterior also has a more pleasurable satin feel to the rubber that facilitates easy insertion and extraction from clothing.

The touch surfaces remain just as responsive as a naked iPhone and the specialized film used over the home button, does not prevent or slow the use of TouchID. It works just as well.

The Trent Trentium is considerably thiner and narrower than the Defender, resulting in an iPhone that feels closer to a standard iPhone than a piece of adventure sports gear.

Even if the Trentium were not $10 less than the Defender, it would still be my preferred case for use in rugged potentially wet environments.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids loved them, June 30, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 48 Foam Dionosaur Gliders (Toy)
A great party favor for 5-7 year-old girls and boys easily assembled really enjoyed. And while the foam is not terribly durable, they provided a full afternoon of fun and then we mixed and matched the remaining undamaged parts to create new types of dino-gliders. They are really no more fragile than a classic balsa-wood glider.

3.0 out of 5 stars Much smaller and robust than anticipated, June 30, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Almost feels like something you would place in a kids closet rather than an entry way. Too bad, as a heavier gauge rod and eight to ten more inches in length would make it feel like an art piece. The finish is quite nice and the welds are of good quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Jet-Dry in areas with hard water or no-water softener, June 30, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We have incredibly hard water that not only ruins glassware, it destroys dishwashers. After using this three times the inside of the dishwasher looked like new, even the plastic had a sheen to it. Glasses we thought were etched forever began to clear and after a month, 90% have returned to a perfectly clear state. Spot-freee without the use of Jet-Dry Rinse, which is really a pointless additive if you have hard water.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite tool. The utility of a garden Swiss Army Knife, June 30, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I lived in Japan for nine years, but did not discover the incredible practicality and quality of this tool until I moved back to the US. While the sheath is a bit lacking the blade and handle are marvelous. Use it like a trowel or pry and it still holds an edge. This will be my go-to gift for any of my friends and family who enjoy gardening.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great low-profile swivel for attaching to bottom of large knife block, November 22, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Edges are a unfinished so the could benefit from a light filing, but the bearings provide for very smooth and effortless movement of a large and heavy cherry-wood knife block. In this application there is no where near 500lbs of weight so I have over engineered my home project. However, this overkill makes for a very stable block from which to retrieve or insert knifes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fits BMW m-coupe, cap is exactly as pictured,, November 22, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After a decade the leash on my original fuel tank cap broke, I knew it was only a matter of time before I lost it during a rushed early morning fueling before the coffee kicked in. Local part stores had a cap, but nothing like the original. This is as perfect a match to the OEM cap as I have been able to find. It has a better leash, the same warning notices around edge, same turn until click closing. Used this as a replacement on my 2000 Z3 m-coupe (MZ3). As of 11/22/2103, the cap is exactly as pictured.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does not include faceplate, October 22, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
While it is quite common to purchase regular grounded outlets in bulk without the faceplate, individual outlets in this price range ought to come with matching faceplates to insure color match and ideal fit. This does not, nor does it match the existing off-white faceplates I had on hand.

Charging of iPad while in use is slower than what you will experience with the Apple power supply, but it is nice to have a charging option that does not require the power block.

5.0 out of 5 stars Monstrous block, modified to swivel and double as a cookbook holder., September 30, 2013
This knife block really is huge, and will gobble up counter-space, so if your space is limited you would likely be happier with a 30 or 25-slot block. Originally I considered sending it back, but I have done two things to that make up for its 12" x 16" footprint. First, I added a lazy-susan bearing B002TIPWNQ to the base and felt pads to the bottom of the bearing which makes for easy scratch-free, lift-free movement across the counter-top, the swivel makes for effortless access to any of the knifes regardless of which side of a kitchen-island I am working on. Second I added a small piece of wood trim at the bottom of the back side of the block in order to create a lectern like bookrest. This allows me to place an open cookbook or iPad on the knife block and it is at the ideal viewing angle. Because the block is 12" wide it can easily hold the largest of cookbooks yet it is narrower than many dedicated cookbook holders and unlike most cookbook holders it will NEVER fall over regardless of how heavy or tall the cookbook.

Some of the reviewers have indicated this knife block is just cherry veneer, not the block I received; it is most definitely hardwood through-and-through. I decided to modify the block in order to facilitate a second cleaver. Using a commercial saws-all it took nearly thirty minutes to cut through the 1/4" of wood separating to adjacent knife slots; soft woods like pine, fir or composites would have taken a minute or two. This sort of abuse would also cause cheaper blocks to split, the Wusthof 35 remains solid with no signs of delamination or splitting. The block is well made and of true hardwoods.

3.0 out of 5 stars Scale of image is deceiving, September 24, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The quality of manufacture is good as are the materials and finish. However, as the manufacturer provides little in the way of knife slot dimension it is difficult to assess what knifes will fit. In the product photo, it looks like the top slot might hold a meat cleaver, it will not. It will hold a large French chef's knife, the slot just below it in row #2 looks to hold a French Chef's knife, only if it is medium or small in size. The third slot will hold a meat, or vegetable cleaver (aka Chinese cleaver), the fourth row slot is not much good for anything but possibly a microplane grater, slightly lower in the fifth row the slot will hold cooking shears. The two slots in row six will accommodate a small chef's knife, santoku-style knife or shorter carving knifes. The bottom row and the six small vertical slots will only accommodate pairing, filet or steak knifes. Given the positive reviews I was surprised how few of my knifes I could fit in the Messermeister, my large Kabosh knife block holds more and provides greater utility. In short if most of your knifes are narrow blades this block will be fine, if you have larger or deeper knifes you should look at other options.
