2.0 out of 5 stars Title should be " A Special Needs Child and His Dysfunctional Dad", August 1, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
i told my special needs child, semi jokingly, that she should read this only to appreciate how well adjusted her parents are by comparison. Every parent with such a child goes through a period of mourning, mourning the loss of their dreams. Then there is anger-anger at the doctors, spouse, God- whoever seems like a ripe target. Then comes acceptance, and the desire to make the most of what your child has. You no longer wish for the impossible. Not that you don't "what if" once in a while, but you move on. This guy never stopped feeling sorry for himself, being angry at the world. He says he loves his son, but i don't see it. He loves what he wants his son to be, and that is to be like his twin brother. There are some entertaining moments in the book, but I found the author to be a self centered lout. If you want to read an inspiring book about a special needs child and his Dad, this is not it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hands down the worst camera I have owned, April 9, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm not a photographer, but I've taken my share of photos with the several point and shoot cameras I have, mostly Cannons, and I'm generally pleased with the results. I wanted this camera for a Maui vacation. The underwater shots were pretty good, but that was it. Most shots over dark, even in good light, poorly focused, and the gizmo that is supposed to eliminate the effects of a shaky hand is terrible. I had several people who do a lot of photography try, and they all had poor results as well. $400 down the drain, and my last Olympus.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not great, March 7, 2015
The bow on the front is saggy from packing. The material is rough texture, does not feel good to her or me. We will see how it comes out in the wash but so far, not something I would buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works very well, February 28, 2015

I tried going without this for a week and definetly did not tan nearly as much. This moisturizers and smells pretty good, more manly than most others. It certainly helps tanning, prevents dry skin. It is not a bronzer, which I like, nor is it a tingle lotion. It is not advertised as such, so the one star review that says it does not tingle is correct. I use this exclusively and am very pleased. Every other lotion I tried either smelled too feminine or had other objectionable issues. This one is excellent.

Manscaping led to ingrown hairs, not fun. Started using this after each shave and problem solved.

2.0 out of 5 stars Greasy, January 31, 2015

It comes out white and stays white. It's the consistency of a diluted petroleum jelly. It's oil based not easy to wash off. We will go back to water based lubricants.

Useless, with no way to update. Nice leather, but that was all I found to like. Returned. Of what use is this?

4.0 out of 5 stars Not an easy read but a must read nonetheless, November 4, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've read all of Woodward's books. They are all incredibly detailed. This one is a bit of a chore to get through unless you are a policy wonk. But the message is so important. Here is what I came away with: coming from a guy like Woodward, a left leaning journalist, this was difficult. But he clearly questions Obama's ability to be President, based on his spectacular failure in negotiating an agreement that would avoid the fiscal cliff. He does not spare Boehner or others, but it's hard to see how anyone who reads this could support feckless and arrogant Obama for a second term. As I write this it is 3 days before the election, so maybe that is how it will turn out. But the Lear message is that this guy is too self absorbed to really see things through others eyes and reach compromise like so many great presidents have.
