2.0 out of 5 stars Conflicted, December 10, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm conflicted. I want to love Wilton Armetale products due to their appearance and longevity, but every time I wash them in hot water and dry with a paper towel there is a silver residue on the towel. Given that they are made from an aluminum alloy and aluminium is linked with Alzheimer's (albeit inconclusively) I am concerned with the safety of consuming foodstuffs which have made contact with these products. I have not used any sort of chemical on this mug other than water. I have purchased 3 of their products in total and have been quite satisfied with them other than that issue; however, I find this issue troubling enough to seek another manufacturer for my medieval dinnerware needs.

If you're a Verizon 4G LTE user, do not buy this! and keep reading...
Firstly if you have the sleek 4G-V this has the wrong connector and you'll need a coupler.
Secondly this antenna is not for the 700MHz Verizon 4G/LTE band, meaning it will boost voice/3G data, but not so much with 4G transmit. Your uplink speeds may drop in 4G, and you could have some service drops. The ironic part is that it will give you a better receive dBm in 4G based on the location of the antenna, so if you put the antenna 12 feet in the air it will be like holding your phone up there in terms of signal bars/receive dBm, but your uplink speed will likely be a fraction what it would be if you actually held the phone up there (at least this was true in my case). Using this for 4G may or may not extend the range at which you can connect - I have only tested where I already have service. The mini-magnet-mount antenna that your sleek 4G-V probably came with handles 4G about the same as this one, but 2G/3G will be much better with this or the 301125 (which has the advantage of having the correct connector but identical gain measurements). According to the info on their site, the best antennas for Verizon 4G types are the 304411 or the 301111 yagi if you really want to maximize signal, but these are directional. Some of the "trucker" antennas have 700MHz potential but they seem to lack in the 1900MHz range and dont come close to the directional options. The building antennas such as 301202 would be a compromise if you don't want to go directional, but are not suitable for mobile applications.

There are devices/services this antenna will work beautifully with, so I'm giving it 5 stars.

2.0 out of 5 stars Concept B+, Quality D-, June 20, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Pros:
substantial capacity increase
segmented charging possibilities
somewhat ergonomic design

Cons:
cheap plastic parts (locking mechanism broke to gentle use within a month)
blocks docking port when installed
died within three months ("return to manufacturer" error code, will not charge)

I did achieve advertised battery life using very conservative settings (low brightness and non-intensive tasks like reading or schoolwork). The concept of this battery is excellent, but it is not well executed. Would not buy again. Would opt for a second 9-cell and hibernate/swap. Disconnected batteries tend to hold charge much longer anyway (> a month versus < a week for 100-->80% charge in my x220+fingerprint scanner). If you're jetset on this, get it direct with a warranty if possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars great cards, November 10, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have reached advertised speeds on a built-in card reader and a newer digital camera but there are a few things anyone should know when choosing a card.
Cards with 32GB or less are SDHC and should work with most devices released in the last few years. SDXC will cover cards with higher capacities, such as this card in 64GB. This is an important consideration to Linux users since SDXC uses exFAT which may not work with your OS. If you have an up-to-date Windows installation or a recent Mac release you will be fine without third party software, though a firmware update may be necessary for your card reader if it's pre-'09.
You will not achieve UHF speeds on a USB 2.0 bus - you will see a maximum 20-30MB/S depending on file size and other factors. On many host devices the speed gains are negligible during operation because of fast internal memory buffers - I can burst (9/s) an average of 15 shots in RAW+jpeg on my DSLR with a class 6 card, or 18 with this - so probably not worth the premium price for that gain alone. Video there is no difference since the class 6 can float the 20mbps required for 1080i on my camera. In other words, if you can get the extreme pro in 64GB for the same price as the extreme in 128GB, your money is probably better spent on the extreme, if not on a non-UHF card, which is to say class 6 or 10.
It may be noteworthy that this card is waterproof and x-ray proof, but does not specify that it is magnet proof as other brands' documentation does. That said, Sandisk has some of the most robust built-in error checking features in the 'biz and other brands don't really compete in quality if you do some research.
My advice is to make sure you can use the extra speed you're paying for - if you don't have a USB 3.0 card reader, a host device with USB 3.0 PC connection, or a built-in card reader on a laptop that's either newer or has a recent firmware update, you may be wasting a fair sum of money here. Also make sure your device says SDXC if you do go above 32GB. Many devices' documentation will explicitly say that it works up to 32GB. It'll just try to format the card over and over if you feed it an SDXC.
Hopefully some info here was helpful! Happy hunting

Logitech Ultimate Ears 600 Noise-Isolating Earphones - Dark Silver (Discontinued by Manufacturer)
Logitech Ultimate Ears 600 Noise-Isolating Earphones - Dark Silver (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for anything but exercise, September 10, 2012

I don't believe you'll find better quality sound or construction at this price point - so long as you are stationary and/or moving slowly and not sweating.

If you try to jog with these, you'll have four things working against you. 1. They have a lot of weight outside the ear that will pull sweaty rubber/neoprene/whatever pads out when jostled at all. 2. There is a lot of running "white noise" such as breathing and cord weight while jogging since the seal is so tight in the earhole. 3. They very effectively close off outside sound, which is great most of the time but probably less safe since outside you won't hear a truck right next to you, or the couple flagging you down to ask if you've seen their dog (just happened lol) 4. While you are adjusting these things and/or holding one in for the 20th time during your 15-minute jog you may press them in harder on accident - I've found this to cause discomfort on the eardrums since the seal is airtight, especially once sweat is factored.

If the cons above don't bother you, I recommend these earbuds without reservation

bought this for my sister, worked for about three months. charging outlet came loose from circuit board. i could have soldered/gorilla glued it back but instead decided to get a motorola analog. i'd advise leaving it stationary while plugs are in use if you do go with any of this brand's units.

5.0 out of 5 stars butter, January 30, 2011

butter smooth gaming. coming from a 4870x2 this card is noticeably superior not to mention excellent driver support from NVIDIA. 60hz 1080p doesn't seem to stress this card. forced max settings (16x AF/16xQ AA/8xAA trans) on BBC2 stays locked at 60fps. I'm getting a 120hz monitor for the 3d and smoothness now that I have this beast. may even consider a 2nd card to keep fps close to pegged at 120. mine oc'd to 860 without effort, though there's not much reason with present games and typical monitor setups.. although if you're shopping for this you're probably ahead of that curve

check out evga's site for backplates and high flow brackets. some have reported 20c better temps from aftermarket thermal pastes as well, which appears not to void the warranty! the only con I can think of is that this card won't stay king forever, but adding a second is a good option down the line (primarily as monitors catch up). as for the card not including video cables, well it makes sense to me: 120hz monitor cables have extra pins for instance. the cable should have come with your monitor, and the sli bridge should have come with your mobo. it's NVIDIA's rule not to include those items so do your research and don't blame the oem..

5.0 out of 5 stars Plantar fantastic, October 30, 2010

I have never spent so much on anything for my feet, but I'd do it over again. I do some trailrunning and log short, fast runs on pavement or treadmills - these shoes have handled everything well. I've been wearing nothing but running shoes (and boots for work) for 10 years, but I've never felt like I was running on a cloud before... 2 months into ownership (~300 miles) the initial "cloudiness" was gone but they're still an 8 of 10 in comfort. That feeling might have lasted longer if I didn't do some weightlifting in them. I never realized how much my feet fatigued during runs until these shoes removed it. Coming from a long string of $50 shoes I think I improved my speed, motivation & endurance as a result of decreased perceived effort if not the physics of a superior shoe.

Drive works well, no external power needed and slim design. Read and write speeds are adequate and encryption seems pretty thorough- if you forget the password consider all data lost.
