I give this book to friends who have cancer, and friends who have a loved one with a cancer diagnosis. Judy manages to be practical and wise and even joyful!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jason Friedman is part poet, part sage, September 20, 2014
I planned to parcel out these stories since I have several other books partly finished, but each story was so delicious I neglected everything else and gobbled up Fire Year. Jason Friedman is part poet, part sage… all very subtly. Each story’s characters are so strong that you hear only their voices.

5.0 out of 5 stars important contribution to understanding entrepreneur-managers, January 14, 2011
This review is from: The Founder Factor (Paperback)
The intensity of focus required from an entrepreneur to turn an idea into a viable company can leave little time for reflection or networking. When I read this book, I got very excited: someone who understands the way I'm wired! Nancy Truitt Pierce's work is an important contribution to the business management bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars History from the human perspective, October 7, 2003
Bravo! What a terrific story Judy Pearson tells! I have always had trouble slogging through military history books because
I'm not interested in the weaponry or tactical details. This book weaves these battles into a compelling human interest story. I wanted to keep reading when I came to the last page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unpretentious poet who knows every bird's song, February 25, 2003
This review is from: The Gospel of Galore (Paperback)
Tina Kelley treads lightly with words. Her poetry radiates with joy in the natural world and people around her. What a delightful read!
