The next best series in the Stargate Franchise!
, August 8, 2013
This is the complete 5 year series of Stargate Atlantis consisting of 20 discs housed in 4 seperate cases, seasons 1 & 2 in an 8-disc case, 3 & 4 also in an 8-disc case & the season 5 in a 4-disc case. The boxset is not overly bulky & is quite ergonomic in size, so it will not take up much space in terms of storage & display in your collection.
I waited patiently for the opportunity to purchase this back in July when it was offered at a bargain! As I'm yet to start viewing, I cannot comment on the content's picture & audio quality, though what I can say is that the entire 100 episode run is here in this boxset & a detailed review can be found here: [...]
I enjoyed this series when it was initially run on tv & was never disappointed, so owning this boxset, I can do that marathon in the near future. Highly recommended!

A Great Portable!
, June 28, 2011
For those of you on a budget, the price is ideal! It's the best of both dvd worlds, use it a stand-alone dvd player as you have the accessories to hook up to your tv via traditional RCA Composite cables or take your favourite movies or tv series & watch anywhere!
Works with a two hour battery, the AC/DC adapter or the "cigarette-lighter" adapter for your vehicle.
& yes it can be converted to Region-free! Check out the posting in the forum for this item!
Very compact & easy to use! Highly recommended!!!!

One Man Can Make A Difference!!!!
, March 6, 2011
I got this late last year at a steal of a deal during the Black Friday Sale!I paid almost $48 including shipping & handling!!! Well worth the money spent & I even received this on Christmas Eve! What a Christmas present!
It is a glossy blackbox with a red light which goes back & forth & a little bit of the Knight Rider theme plays when you press the button.
The box opens to reveal all 24 discs for the entire 84 episodes during four year run of the series. Be advised that this set does not contain those dreaded double-sided discs that were used during the initial release of the series on dvd! A definite plus!
Episode highlights that should not be missed are which happen to be my personal favourites of the "top of my head"::
The pilot known as Knight of the Phoenix,
Trust doesn't rust( the first appearance of K.A.R.R.),
Goliath (Garth Knight returns from the dead!),
Knight of the Drones,
K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R.,
Junk Yard Dog,
Knight of the Juggernaut,
& of course, Knight Rider 2000!
There also the episodes of the Hoffs' former fiance & wife, Catherine Hickland.
For those of you who got it at the deal I did, can thank the timing of when it was put on sale! Right now it is a bit pricey, let's hope that those of you who have not purchased it as yet, maybe patient enough for the price to drop to the alltime low price once more this year! A definite & highly recommended addition to anyones' collection!
Great Fun & Fantastic Action! Retired & Extremely Dangerous!
, March 6, 2011
This is one great flick! An ensemble cast in no particular order, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Mary Louise Parker, John Malkovich, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfuss, Ernest Borgnine! Yes, you did not misread, Ernest Borgnine! Many would remember him from The Wild Bunch, The Dirty Dozen or Airwolf, just to name a few. Bruce plays a C.I.A. retiree named Frank Moses who becomes enamored with Sarah , a young lady who works for the Pension Department. Over the years of retirement, Frank still tries to keep in shape & keep his senses sharp as ever. For good reason, he is on a hitlist which is being carried out by his former employer, the C.I.A.!!!!
A mission from 1981 comes back to haunt Frank & everyone involved in a greater conspiracy that could see the Vice President make a successful bid for the election of becoming the next President.
After he dispatches the hit team with devastating results, he meets Sarah & takes her with all around the country, meeting up with allies & trying to get to the bottom of this conspiracy.
The mayhem, chaos & fun continues right until the end! This movie never lets up! They maybe retired but they are still the best at what they do! Based on the comic book of the same name, it's just great to see all these actors & actresses have lots of fun doing what they do best!

The First Volume of the Best Bond Actor of All Time!
, February 26, 2011
Undeniably, though some will argue the point, Sean Connery is the best Bond of all time. Countless polls continue to rank him as number one! He was the orginator of the role when the late Albert Brocolli & his then partner, the late Harry Saltzman started producing the Bond films almost 50 years ago! How time flies!
This volume set contains in chronological release order Dr. No, From Russia With Love & Goldfinger. It is a 6 disc set which mirrors the ultimate editions which were released on dvd years ago. Therefore, the Special Features should be identical without the inclusion or deletion of any previously released material.
For those of us on a budget this year & must scale down the amount of purchases, this is of great value. Also it gives the potential buyer the option to buy exactly what he or she wishes, without buying every volume scheduled for release.
Highly recommended for any & all Bond fans!

Is this the end? or is this a new beginning?
, February 26, 2011
Well, the most touted & probably final installment of this franchise, does not disappoint its' die-hard fans. A boxoffice sucess! It turned over a tidy profit, so don't be surprised if Lionsgate decides to make more sequels! I thoroughly enjoyed this & it answered alot of unanswered questions that were nagging some of us for so very long.
It leaves you essentially at a point where the possiblity of a sequel is very strong.
Thoroughly enjoyable, with doses of some humour in between the gore & torture scenes.
The bottomline is always come clean about your past, otherwise it will haunt you!

A return to the jungle, of sorts!
, February 7, 2011
First off, I got this at a steal of a deal from Amazon when the Black Friday sale was on. I purchased this for $9.99! That was the first great thing about this purchase.
Secondly, to see a film with the active participation of Robert Rodriguez is always a plus, no matter what!
Thirdly, to make a sequel without the mega-star who launched the franchise was a calculated risk, but truly worth it.
Anyway, the film starts, as everyone knows by now, with a freefall by Royce(Adrien Brody) to the planets' ground. He meets up with seven other "specialists", I use that word very loosely because two of them are killers! They begin to explore & have their fair share of run-ins with the planets' lifeforms! & their hosts or, in this case, their hunters! One by one they get picked off, they meet up with a survivor named Nolan played by Laurence Fishburne, who apparently has killed a few of these hunters in the ten seasons of being marooned on this planet! He has become psychotic & tries to kill the band of survivors & fails miserably in the process!
As with any "Predator" movie, survival is key & only the strong & resilient survive!
Just a bit of trivia or moments of paying homage are present in this sequel though, there is a man with a mini-gun, an obvious nod to Jesse Venturas' portrayal of Blaine from Predator, a man with a sword, in this case, makes his last stand, wins & dies opposed to Billy in Predator who lost altogether, the female lead survives, a trend for all of those lovely ladies in all the movies. The first movie has been referenced just like in the sequel, the Predator still amazes me as to how cleanly it can rip a skull & spinal column out of a body in tact! It's the third time that I'm seeing that & it still is frightening! & finally, I do not recall if anyone in this movie said, "You're one ugly ......!" I must have missed it or it was never used at all! Oh yes, one more bit "Kill me I'm here!" of course, a nod to Arnold's character from the original Predator.
Those of you who have enjoyed the previous two movies should get this one & add it to your library. It is a pity that the Alien vs Predator franchise was not up to par with this franchise! Great special features, highly recommended.

Don't compare the tv series with this!
, February 5, 2011
Simply put, in a year that had a few "team" movies, I refer to The Losers, The A-Team & The Expendables, this goes down as a just fun, don't take it serious for awhile diversion!
I had my reservations originally when I heard the first set of news that there was going to be an A-team full length feature film. I mean, I grew up with the series, had over the years bought all the boxsets, screamed & yelled to high heaven when that complete boxset was announced & released! Such is life! Anyway, with one of the original cast members not with us anymore, one only wondered if any of the surviving members would make some sort of contribution, albeit cameo roles!
This film does not fail to entertain & given the benefit of two versions of the movie, what more can anyone ask for! There was the right amounts of action, thrills, comedy & yes, an appearance by the director also!
To summarise the plot, though there is very little more I can say, the members come together in Mexico & become a well-tuned team, serve together for eight years & were about to leave Iran at the end of their tour of duty. Sounds simple enough, but, with the possiblity of "sticking it" to Saddam, they accept one last mission to get the money that he printed, the plates used & return them to the U.S.
But nothing that simple ever goes right, their commanding officer is apparently killed, the A-Team is wrongfully accused, tried & convicted for the crime. Six months elapse & the C.I.A. agent instrumental in the fiasco prior to their incarceration, makes an offer to "spring" them & right the wrongs against them. That's when the mayhem insues!
This movie was quite memorable in many ways & more so, as this was the last that Stephen J. Cannell produced prior to his passing. From the making of featurette, it looked that he greatly approved all the goings on & looked particularly happy at the time.
Nonetheless, the series was great fun during which no one gets killed, though by the near end of the series, there were a few deaths & so does this movie.
Great fun to kill a couple of hours, get it!

The complete series, packaging issue & a memorial to Stephen J. Cannell
, October 2, 2010
Well, I had purchased this when the price range was between $55-$60 in August, I received this in tact earlier this week, who knew that it would have a prophetic telling by the end of the week!
Before, I say anything more, to those who know & those who don't, Emmy-winning writer, producer Stephen J. Cannell passed away on Friday the 1st. He will be forever know as the man who gave us thousands of hours worth of entertainment for television, a prolific author with several books released, an advocate for dyslexia. He will be truly missed, thanks for all the memories!
The packaging is a oversized plastic clamshell case with a slipcase that holds 28 paper disc envelopes! Now if you planned ahead such as I did, I bought a few multiple disc cases to safely transfer the discs & prevent any damage. Of course, I'm sure if there are persons who are proficient enough to remove & then replace the disc from the envelope without damaging it, I salute you! It has been a thumbrule of mine that envelopes are more trouble than anything else! Mill Creek is at their packaging best once again!
So, we have 28 discs, 152 episodes, an episode on the first disc's label again says "Hard Contact" & should read "Hard Contract"! Mill Creek, please assign new personnel in Quality Control! It appears Mill Creek has a problem with the word "Contract". The episode entitled "The Contract" is labelled on the disc as "The Contact". The episodes appear to run uncut with a few exceptions. Due to music rights, certain songs have been removed or replaced. It also appears that the episode featuring Chaka Khan, has been heavily edited to a running time of under 42 minutes! Usually, a typical episode runs at least 48mins. Once I complete the entire series, I will post all the episodes' individual running times for all. Each season is colourcoded, so there won't be any mixup when viewing the discs.
So what else is there left to say, well I would like to get the three reunion movies & the short-lived revival series & that would make my Hunter collection complete.
This is for fans of the series who watched every week to see L.A.'s finest in action, it is also for those who are new to the series to enjoy! This is a must buy for all collectors. Highly recommended!
Here's the complete episode listings & running times for the entire series:

In Season 2, we also had the introduction of Sporty James, who would be making very prominent appearances for the next few seasons. It was the beginning of "hell" for Dee Dee McCall with the 2- part episode "Rape & Revenge". With end of the first two seasons, Mike Post & the late Pete Carpenter, had a "re-tooling" of the opening & closing theme music. These new opening & closing themes would continue for the next two seasons.

Death Signs 47:35
The Fourth Man 48:37
Murder He Wrote 48:36
Silver Bullet 48:27
Please note that there were several musical performances by both Chaka Khan & Stephanie Kramer that were edited from the episode "The Cradle Will Rock". It looked like McCall's "hell" would continue in "Hot Pursuit" & "City of Passion". We finally get a Captain of the Division who stayed on until the very end of the series. The late Charles Hallahan portrayed Captain Charles Devane. Also, Lt. Ambrose Finn who would be ever so prominent in these two seasons, would be written out by the end of the fourth season.
The team of Mike Post & Pete Carpenter would retool the opening & closing themes for the last remaining seasons. The fifth season would be heavy in electric guitar, the sixth heavy in percussion instruments & the final season would sort of laid back western style.

Street Wise Pt. 2 48:40
At this point, the end of the sixth year, Stepfanie Kramer had enough & gracefully left the series. The series would never be the same again, with the seventh & final season. Also note, "Street Wise Pt. 1" is the only episode that does not have an episodic preview, it just goes straight to the action.

Little Man With a Big Reputation 46:15
With the absence of Stepfanie Kramer, what could go wrong, did go wrong. Ratings began to slide, two female co-stars were brought in after the first one cited creative differences & would be written out midway through the season. It was never the same ever again & the series was finally cancelled.
Anyway, that's the 152 episodes that are contained in the boxset. Enjoy!
Really, final update!!!
I have not experienced, thankfully, the duplication of discs issue or any of the discs "freezing" during playback. I can only say two things about the two aformentioned issues. Firstly, Mill Creek's quality control department could hire some of us to prevent any further disappointments, by also offering quick replacements, & secondly, older dvd players could be experiencing & may need replacing or upgrading where possible. I have been using a Momitsu BDP899 & a Toshiba HD-D3 without any problems.
