5.0 out of 5 stars Modern grimoire, ancient currents -- highly recommended!, July 3, 2014
Behold a spirited piece of work exploring the underlying mystical currents of Witchcraft. As Mr. Grimassi encourages a tossing-out of titles and pretenses, he dually encourages readers to embrace their abilities as Natural Witches -- nature mystics who understand the parallels of human consciousness and the earth's regenerative flora. While the mythos, names, and rituals of the Rose & Thorn Path may be inspired by modern vision, its essence is as old as the turning tides around us.

Additionally, this book has the potential to bring a whole generation of Witches back to ceremonial magic and deeper visionary work.

4.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic book for young Pagan/Wiccan males -- bravo!, November 12, 2010
Excellent work! Many men who are drawn to Witchcraft, Wicca, and Neopagan spirituality have difficulty finding themselves in spiritual paths that emphasize Goddess worship more than God worship. Because the image of God has been tainted due to political greed, fear, and other evils, it's tempting for many people to have a bitter taste in their mouths when it comes to masculine-centered spirituality; many even neglect this half of the Divine Current altogether, which is both dangerous and foolish. Books such as THE WAY OF THE HORNED GOD and others help revitalize the Sacred Masculine and encourage its integration in modern Earth-based spiritual consciousness.

I recommend this book to any and all young men (roughly 21 and younger) who are in the process of discovering their spirituality in Earth-centered, cosmic-centered mysticism and magick. This fantastic guide tackles many issues that other books avoid. The sage wisdom throughout helps readers connect their current Wiccan knowledge with the wisdom of the teacher. However, I do wish this book went deeper and more in-depth into some of the subjects (some pertinent issues seem to 'cut short' when the author is on a roll), and I wish more historical information was covered, these qualms should not deter potential readers. Because most of the readers have additional Wiccan, Pagan, and magickal/esoteric and historical books in their library, THE WAY OF THE HORNED GOD serves as *complementary* reading, as I believe it is intended.

Though it should be noted that the Divine Masculine can be worshiped just as easily be females, as can the Divine Feminine by males; division and exclusivity is not the goal. Instead, it is balance. Luckily, THE WAY OF THE HORNED GOD is a valuable resource that helps kindle the sacred flame of balance in modern Wicca.

5.0 out of 5 stars A stunning, expansive new mystical text for magicians of all types., April 26, 2010
"One word: Paradox. I have only read a handful of books in my life that explore the often-overlooked 'divine dichotemy' of spiritual Paradox. The force of Paradox is the one thing that upholds and maintains all of reality. Nothing is 'this' and nothing is 'that.' At the same time, magicians, Witches, and innumerable other spiritual path-walkers so often quarrel over details. In my eyes, one must step back from the smaller bits in order to see the bigger picture. Magus Madstone's text addresses the so-called 'bigger picture' of magick, spirituality, and (most importantly) the nature of reality itself. Undertaking the daring task of putting these reflections to form, this book can be considered a collection of multidimensional observations funneled into a single-dimensional reality for the sake of communication. This book is clearly part of the author's Great Work, or spiritual calling. The author touches on spiritual truths and questions that permeate numerous religions and belief systems around the world, yet never tells someone that they must believe--or observe reality--exactly how the author himself does. As a messenger of higher truths (as well as even higher questions), Dreams of the Magus is an especially relevant text for those wishing to gain new perspective in their magick or spiritual path. Those who are wishing to put aside their ultra-analytical (and often academically-overloaded) occult minds will find solace in the intuitive-yet-profound nature of this text. Those who feel a natural inclination to the intuitive, meditative, or reflective aspects of esoteric spirituality will feel a particular connection to the text. This book is simultaneously written in a mystical, challenging style reminiscent of Robert Anton Wilson, while at the same time structured in a contemplative, altruistic style reminiscent of Thich Nhat Hanh. Regardless of what 'type' of magician or spiritual seeker you are, there is extreme benefit in reading this mind-expanding, reality-questioning, self-analytical text."

2.0 out of 5 stars These work great for a short period of time, then they bust., April 25, 2010
These are amazing for the very short period of time they function. Then the sound starts going out from the wire. Now I don't know what to use for a replacement; are there other USB headphones even available? I won't buy Numark again; I've replaced this phones way too many times.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great study into occultism, past & present, October 2, 2008
This review is from: Promethean Flame (Paperback)
Promethean Flame is an excellent study into particular developments of magickal practice and esoteric spirituality. With determination, the author blends well-researched information about key figures known for their involvement in free-thinking magickal spirituality, and examines occult orders from ancient times to modernity, even illuminating significant concepts by linking historical details to modern cinema! From John Dee to Isaac Newton; from the Golden Dawn to the Illuminati; from Zeus to Baphomet, Promethean Flame documents a wide array of history pertinent to anyone immersing themselves in the magickal arts, be they a Ceremonial magician, Witch, or esotericist.

5.0 out of 5 stars A key book on death and dying--a rare gem indeed., September 29, 2008
My 'official blurb' below. And I mean every word of it. This book brought me to tears. It's one not to be without, methinks:

Death is a topic not to be avoided, and is one of utmost importance to the serious spiritual seeker. In this profoundly deep necromantic-shamanic tome, death is neither glamorized nor idealized, but looked at in a realistic, intelligent, and spiritual light. Michelle Belanger explores numerous aspects of death and dying, and readers are encouraged to enter the world beyond the veil--and learn from it--at their own pace. Indeed, the realm of death is immaculately intertwined with our own. I can say with certainty that Walking the Twilight Path is an indispensable book for those wishing to advance, actualize, and intensely deepen their spiritual practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, July 13, 2008
In a culture where sex and sexuality is so often shunned and scandalized, it's refreshing to see a book focused on this sacred aspect of our human nature. Being one of our greatest gifts as humans, sex can empower and spiritually connect us. With wisdom and maturity, the authors present a concise guide to the magickal, powerful force that dwells within us--one that we often fear or take for granted. Contrary to popular misunderstanding, the authors clarify that the practices and beliefs of Tantra are not solely focused on sex. Going well beyond the realm of sexual energy, Tantra for Erotic Empowerment covers significant elements of sensual mysticism, including proper techniques for consciousness expansion, meditation, gender exploration, cultivating balance, and how to evolve in one's loving relationship with another, others, or oneself. Gorgeously written and practical, this book is a must for anyone seeking to strengthen their connection with the Divine and incorporate expanded bliss into their spiritual path.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC! A much-needed guidebook for male Pagans, March 24, 2008
Not all Witches just worship the Goddess... some also serve the God in all his glory, in his multitude of aspects. Pagan/Wiccan Women tend to be more naturally inclined to serve and honour the Goddess. Men... well, it's a bit more difficult: The image and ideas of "masculinity," as well as the image of GOD (necessarily masculine) in modern western culture is absolutely skewed, so additionally finding empowerment in the Great Masculine can seem uncertain or even threatening. Dagonet's book is a refreshing take on ancient male archetypes, portraying men's spiritual roles in the past and present. The book is fun, conversational & realistic. It doesn't fall into genderized trappings, but instead challenges common views of gender. This book is an absolute MUST-HAVE for Pagan men wishing to explore their sacred roles in a spiritual path that is so often focused solely on the feminine.
