2.0 out of 5 stars bad blood has a noxious odor., January 11, 2014

The best that can be said of this book is that it chronicles a specific period in the history of the National Theatre. However airing dirty linen in print demeans the author and provides nothing but a sense of desolation for the reader. Recommended only for gossip mongers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take a trip down the bumpy road!, May 2, 2012
John Considine comes from Hollywood royalty. However, that did not deter him from a life that, for some time, threatened to destroy him. Here is his journey, and it is a bold and brave one. He has had a roller coaster of a life, but he has ended up on top of the Ferris wheel: Victorious over all the difficulties that life has dealt him. Take this journey with him. From the gilded streets of Beverly Hills in the 40's and parents who came from opposing theatrical dynasties to life as an actor, a father, and a writer! And what a writer. This book is funny, scary, and above all inspirational. It proves that the human spirit is indomitable. I loved every page of it. You will, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Something for Everyone, February 2, 2012

Scotty worked for me for years. He tended bar, he pruned trees, and he packed us up when we moved away from Los Angeles. This book was like a visit with an old friend. But, Scotty was forever youthful, forever enthusiastic, and a nice guy. This comes through in the book, which is amazing, because some of his stories will raise your eyebrows. He describes life in Hollywood as it will never be again. I was happy to read at the conclusion that his current life is a happy one. He deserves it. And, if you choose to read this eminently readable book, I think you'll have a good time. I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Courge under fire, November 6, 2011
Alan and Norman became a couple when it was career suicide to commit to a gay relationship. Their beautiful book traces their 50 year romance, and along the way gives the reader an inside glimpse into the worlds of television and art. They had always managed to live with grace and dignity, and this book is a true reflection of their lifestyle. I count myself privileged to be their friend, and to savor their thoughts and insights. This is a wonderful read. The last chapters are unforgettable.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR!

This is a very bad copy of the films. It looks as if it was ripped off for a down and dirty sale.
