5.0 out of 5 stars Very Insightful & Informative, July 28, 2013
I received this book as a ministry gift and could not wait to get started reading. Pastor Cerullo offers extremely compelling information regarding the first Tabernacle of the wilderness and its operation. He draws incredible parallels between the natural existence and the supernatural representation of the objects present in the tabernacle, as well as the roles and functions of the presiding Priests. This is an excellent read for Christians looking for greater understanding of the Jewish Tabernacle and Old Testament connections to modern Christianity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Angelic Romance That Touches The Heart, July 26, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
"Garda" is a very sweet, enjoyable romance with an awesome paranormal storyline. The author writes a tender love story between main characters Corey and Mitch that turns otherworldly when Corey is taken from the earth in a tragedy. From there the story seamlessly unfolds to reveal their ultimate destinies. The plot is punctuated with a wonderful cast of characters who live on earth and in "the realm" and lots of great plot twists that keep you intrigued with the storyline. I would highly recommend this novel for readers who love Angel stories or sweet romance.

**MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS**
I really enjoyed reading Love Triangle. I connected with the characters and I sympathized with what they all were going through during the story. Infidelity, especially when it produces a child, is one of the toughest situations for a couple to deal with and rarely does real-life run as smoothly as fiction under those circumstances. I would have loved for the author to expand the psychology of each character so that we could get into their "heads" a lot more. This also would have given greater depth to the characters. I wanted to know more about the changes of heart that occurred in the women as well & a greater explanation of their transitions. This could have easily been a full length novel, but is a good read just like it is. I would definitely read more of the author's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can you handle the truth? This is not a politically correct look at addiction!, May 18, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've read several reviews about the amount of profanity and vulgarity in this book and I can only conclude that the people who wrote those reviews have never had a real encounter with an addict. "Some Are Sicker Than Others" is a very real and accurate portrayal of the behavior and thought patterns of people addicted to chemical substances. The author does an excellent job of going behind the drug use of his characters and allowing the reader into their private, often delusional worlds to see up close and personal the devastating effects of their individual addictions. The story is brutal and intense, but it is also incredibly honest. It is also very well-written and flows seamlessly to its ending with a few really good twists. I would recommend this to anyone who can handle a dose of stark reality and who would like to take a look into the darkness of addiction. You'll probably feel anger, sadness, fear, frustration - all of which are a wonderful tribute to the talent of the author and are consistent with the experience of being a part of an addict's life.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Absolute MUST READ for Every Southerner & Every Woman Who Has Loved, April 12, 2013
From the first page of this story, I was drawn in completely. Having grown up in Arkansas, I could feel the humidity and almost hear the buzz of the mosquitoes as the magnificent plot unfolded. Young Allison is torn between doing what 1960's southern society dictates is the right thing for a young white woman and doing what her heart tells her is right for her. She struggles with pursuing her passion and becoming independent like her rebel sister or remaining the apple of her dad's eye and doing what pleases him. Then she meets Jackson... a young black man home from war who she falls in love with. Not so controversial in 2013, but enough to get him killed and her ostracized from society in the 60's south. To complicate matters, the town where they live has not let go of segregation despite the change in law and racial unrest thunders throughout the story like a terrible thunderstorm.

I won't give away too many details because this book is not just a story; it's an experience - one that each reader must have on their own. I will say that I laughed, cried, got angry, and had many moments of reflection until I reached the final page. Melissa Foster captures with perfection the era & the coming-of-age journey of a young woman and masterfully weaves them together to create a tapestry that reflects not just the struggle of one person, but the struggle of a people. This is a MUST READ for EVERY southerner and every woman who has loved, no matter your race, age, or ethnicity. This is especially a must read for anyone who has overcome great adversity in order to find their own personal freedom. I thank Melissa for maintaining the integrity of this era of history, although it was hard to stomach at times, and for having the courage to tell this story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping Emotion With Palpable Angst, April 7, 2013

WOW! T.M. Souders hits the ball out of the park in this excerpt. I imagine that the rest of "Freedom Road" will be just as intriguing and is definitely a strong contender for ABNA. Souders does an excellent job relating the anger and pain of her protagonist Samantha. She also skillfully creates an appetite in the reader for Samantha's parents who seem to be dealing with issues of their own. I want to know more about them, what's going on in their minds. I also like how though the story appears to be contemporary, I can easily imagine Samantha living in earlier periods (particularly the 60's or 70's) which I believe gives the story appeal for all ages. Great job!

I really enjoyed this book! I am a fan of Chicki's work and "Hot Fun" did not disappoint. The changing points of view among the characters flowed flawlessly and each perspective added something interesting and dramatic to the story line. I loved that the story covered some very serious issues in our society, but they were skillfully woven into the story and were not overly abrasive or jarring. The passion levels of the multiple love stories range from sweet to super hot and they were all executed wonderfully. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a well-written, multicultural drama with enough of the good stuff to keep you wanting just a little more of these characters.

This review is from: Blood Money (Kindle Edition)
Laura Rizio tells a tale of a law firm so rooted in corruption that it's almost implausible. Or is it? If the love of money is the root of all evil, then Blood Money showcases the devil himself in the Maglio, Silvio, & Levin firm that is the central focus of the book. As you read through this fast-paced and suspenseful drama, you'll find that lies, intimidation, and even murder are the methods of choice for making things happen for these corrupt lawyers. And that's just the first few pages! This is a great read for anyone who loves law dramas such as "Law & Order" with a healthy dose of mob style violence thrown in for thrills. Add in some great plot twists and a seedy romance or two and you get the good read that is this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotionally Riveting Read, July 3, 2012
"Whether I'll Live or Die" is a riveting read that evokes several emotional responses as you read. The book details the lives of "Amanda" and "Nicole", two women who appear to be very different from the beginning of the book, but who become inextricably tied together by the end in a surprising and poignant twist. From beginning to end, both of their stories are raw and real, one trying to cope with an ongoing cycle of domestic abuse, the other dealing with life as a police officer inevitably drawn into violent crime. If you have an aversion to graphic violence or abuse, this is not the book for you. You will find traces of fairy tale love and romance, but it serves more as intermittent relief from an ongoing theme of brutality throughout the entire novel rather than hold a place as a prominent theme of its own. I repeat - this novel is raw and REAL, not for the squeamish.

Don't get me wrong. The violence is not gratuitous in any way. It is the essence of the experiences of these two women - experiences that will make you angry, sad, afraid, and even resolute in your pursuit of the final pages in order to see how it all ends. I will not give away spoilers, but I can say that there will be vindication by the end of the story. However, how you arrive at the ultimate resolution is a brilliantly crafted journey that engages the reader both emotionally and psychologically. The author teaches us that ultimately, destiny is in our own hands and we decide whether our spirits will live or die in this lifetime.
