Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2-Disc Collector's Edition)
Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2-Disc Collector's Edition)
DVD ~ Heather Langenkamp

5.0 out of 5 stars The Life and Crimes of Freddy Krueger, April 27, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great documentary summarizing the life of one of the most infamous serial killers in cinema history, Mr. Fred Krueger. From the first Nightmare film to Freddy vs. Jason, "Never Sleep Again" covers every crack, corner and crevice of Freddy's legacy. Every film is broken down and dissected with interviews from various actors, actresses, writers, producers and even New Line Cinema executives. It even goes in depth with the "Freddy's Nightmares" TV show, which before watching this, I barely knew anything about. I love how most of Freddy's famous kills are broken down and explained in detail about how they were filmed, great stuff. Just seeing the impact and celebrity icon that Freddy became is just unbelieveable. I learned so much from this film and it's definitely worth the hefty price. I highly recommend this to every "Nightmare on Elm Street" fan or horror film fan in general. Without hesitation, "Never Sleeps Again" definitely blows "His Name was Jason" and "Halloween: 25 Years of Terror" straight out of the water.

2.0 out of 5 stars What a Let Down...., April 22, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Sleeper (DVD)
I love 80's slasher films and when I heard of "The Sleeper" being a throwback to those days, it instantly grabbed my attention. I couldn't wait to pop this film into my DVD player but upon viewing it was definitely a let down. The acting was bad, didn't care for the way it was filmed and the concept and look of the killer could have been done much better. Some of the killings were a bit gruesome but looked totally generic. This film is no doubt a rip off of "The House on Sorority Row" and "Black Christmas". Not even worth watching, a total disappointment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved It!, February 27, 2012

Robert Englund's "Hollywood Monster" is a great read for fans of the horror film industry and film industry in general. Robert goes into detail of his life from acting in high school plays to the big time Hollywood sets and makes it very interesting at that! His great sense of humor really adds to his already interesting story. Some great behind the scenes memories of making the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" films was definitely my favorite...dressing up as Freddy and scaring the waiter was hilarious and doing the same thing to the prostitute was even better! Even though he hung up Freddy's glove for the final time...his monster will live on for eternity! Definitely check this out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 80's Gem!, May 20, 2010

This review is from: Up the Creek [VHS] (VHS Tape)
"Up the Creek" is one of the best unknown 80's comedy flicks. Starring Tim Matheson and Stephen Furst (of "Animal House" fame) along with Dan Monahan (of "Porky's" fame) and Sandy Helberg as four college dudes trying to win a raft race to earn their degrees. The gang is up agaist many colleges in the race but mainly Ivy University and the Washington Military Institute (who get kicked out before the race even starts thanks to one Bob McGraw). This film is filled with hilarious dialogue, great raft scenes and lots of funny moments. Chuck the dog is amazing! Lots of hottt chicks, some topless, great scenery, great soundtrack, great everything. WHAT IS THE HOLD UP? RELEASE IT ON DVD ALREADY!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the hype, November 5, 2009

This movie had the potential to be great. Being a horror movie junkie (particulary 80's slashers) I thought from the trailer looked very appealing. The movie has nudity, lots of guts and blood and some good kills scenes but is an overall letdown. The plot is very confusing, the killer is never shown (which totally killed the movie right away)! And what about that 300+ pound gorilla I had to put up with for the whole movie? Oh was he awful haha. Two stars for the nude hotties and the kill scenes but other than that a complete waste of time and money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fat Joe - Don Cartagena, November 25, 2006
This review is from: Don Cartagena (Audio CD)
Taking three long years out of the game, Fat Joe finally returns with his third solo album, "Don Cartagena" in 1998. The follow-up to his 1995 classic, "Jealous One's Envy," Fat Joe is out to prove once again he is one of the greatest New York rappers to ever grace the mic. Can this album follow in the same path as his last release or will it fail to live up to the hype?

Wow Fat Joe released another classic album with this release. The production is all banging and Fat Joe's flow is just awesome. He does have lots of guest features on here and he only has two solo tracks but every track is good or great. Check it out if your a fan of his, Terror Squad or New York rap.

Two years after his debut, the Boogie Down Bronxster Fat Joe is back on the scene with his sophomore effort in 1995. Titled "Jealous One's Envy," Joe is out to prove once again he can be a dominate force in New York hip-hop. Can he make a solid follow-up to his debut or will he suffer from the sophomore curse?

4.0 out of 5 stars Fat Joe - Represent, November 19, 2006
This review is from: Represent (Audio CD)
Hailing from the Bronx, Fat Joe enters the rap game with his debut album, "Represent" in 1993. From the same city in New York as other legends such as KRS-One and Boogie Down Productions, can Joe keep the city on top or will he fail at his first attempt at stardom?

Fat Joe releases a very solid album with his debut. Just a couple of points away from being nearly classic. The production is booming and goes along great with Joe's raw flow and lyrics. He definitely represented the Bronx great with this album. It has a very old school feel to it as well. Check it out if you're a fan of Fat Joe, Big Pun, Terror Squad, or New York hip-hop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghostface Killah - Shaolin's Finest, November 18, 2006

After putting out a classic and two very solid albums, Ghostface Killah decided to release "Shaolin's Finest," a greatest hits album (already?). This album features tracks from 1996's "Ironman" all the way until 2001's "Bulletproof Wallets." It was released in the early months of 2003.

1. Daytona 500 (Featuring Raekwon & Cappadonna) - 4.5/5

2. Poisonous Darts - 4.5/5

3. Camay (Featuring Raekwon & Cappadonna) - 4/5

10. Ghost Showers - 4/5

11. Never Be the Same Again (Featuring Carl Thomas & Raekwon) - 5/5

12. Strawberry (Featuring Killah Sin) - 4/5

4.5 Stars

This greatest hits album is very solid considering Ghostface always puts out quality music. He could have done a little better with selecting the tracks to include on here, but it's still good nonetheless. If you have his first three albums, you aren't missing anything though.
