5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, healthy, and delicious? Sign me up!, May 29, 2012
With "5 Easy Steps to Healthy Cooking," Camilla Saulsbury achieved something that I once thought was impossible: She actually convinced my husband (who would live on pizza and burgers, if allowed) that healthy foods and delicious foods are not mutually exclusive things. I'd gotten used to preparing two separate dinners every night -- a healthier one for me, and a heartier one for him, but thanks to recipes such as "Cuban Chicken with Black Beans and Brown Rice,"Japanese Ginger Beef Bowls," and "Pumpkin, Sausage, and Smoked Gouda Pizza," my husband is actually enthusiastic about the prospect of eating healthy. In addition to dinners, there are recipes for breakfast, snacks, lunches, bread, and even dessert. I haven't tried any of the sweets yet, but those Cocoa Truffles made with dates are calling my name.

5.0 out of 5 stars Camilla's best book yet!, September 8, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I own several of Camilla Saulsbury's cookbooks, and she never fails to produce well-written, easy to follow, and creative recipes. Piece of Cake is no exception -- it might even be her best cookbook yet! From sheet cakes to bundts to "Luscious Layer Cakes," this book truly contains something for every cake-worthy occasion. The only problem is figuring out which cake to try first (I'm eyeing the Salted Caramel Peanut and Chocolate Upside-Down Cake though. How good does that sound?)

Very smart to create a spiral binding of the book--makes it very user-friendly in the kitchen. Also, the tips, variations, and storage directions that are included with each recipe are a nice touch.

Happy baking!
