Price: $101.99

1.0 out of 5 stars induces loud humming in speakers, unusable, August 26, 2014
just brought one from a local store 15 minutes ago
will be returning (it's already back in its box)

while charging when the pretty lights come on my pc speakers produce humming sound
it is the same when connected in wired configuration - when light is on loud hum is in the speakers

can't review any other functionality since this is bad enough to preclude me from using the mouse at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective, Slim, Attractive, Already saved the phone once, June 26, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I dropped my S4 from about 3 feet right on the corner on concrete (would have broken the screen probably).
The phone fell bounced and tumbled along a few times. Even the case did not get scratched much - just a tiny bit.
The transparency look is nice...
It is slim enough not to alter the bulk factor in any major way.
Buttons are, of course, a quite a bit stiffer than the phones own, but I am ok with that - the phones are a bit too easy to press, the case ones are little too hard - better IMO.
I would "love it" even more if they made it match the phone completely - I like the look of the phone by itself more than any case that I've seen.
So "Poetic" if you are listening - black with chrome trim please !

5.0 out of 5 stars Ubuntu 12.04 plug and play, September 5, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
received it yesterday, plugged into my desktop - all is well
video is sharp (a little too sharp for my taste but that is from a photography point of view)
there is no lag
used it on skype in ubuntu 12.04 - works great - no drivers no computer restarts - just works

disclaimer - I did not use its microphone, since I have one built into the headset.

2.0 out of 5 stars not very visible regardless of distance, May 4, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
purchased this together with "Tri-Tronics Sport Basic G3 Training Collar"
it is easy enough to assemble and use
although with that transmitter model you don't have a remote turn on/off - you use the "buzz" button while touching transmitter to the receiver.
also light will stay on even if the receiver is turned off.

so brightness - if you are looking directly at it - it's kinda bright looking.
but if your dog has a long or even medium coat - it is mostly hidden.

Before buying this (and after) I've been using a normal human headlamp (petzl) - to walk the dog at night - we usually go out really late and with an almost black dog off leash - you need some way to know where the dog is, and for that this thing (the Tracer) does not help much.
And I am not talking about 1/2 mile - more like 30 feet in a neighborhood with no street lights and some grass filled empty lots - can't see him.
So I am still using the head lamp - not super-bright - just an old petzl with 3 leds and 3 AAA batteries, for any medium sized dog - it's not too heavy, and even if you can't see the petzl - you can see the bright spot on the ground - it sort of points at the dog's feet - a little more forward and it would look like he is lighting his way with a headlamp.

so while I would have preferred a single rechargeable unit with light and control collar - there are cheaper and more visible things you can do.

2.0 out of 5 stars inexpensive works ok, poor viewing angles, May 4, 2012
I did not buy this thing at amazon, it was the cheapest monitor in a store.
It was chosen for the price and reasonable spec.

It it's a mediocre monitor at best.
I bought 2 of them for a side-by-side dual mon. setup.

immediately - the monitors seem to not match - for the simple reason that I am looking at them at a different angle - slightly from the right (for the left monitor) and slightly from the left (for the right monitor), and the color change is not the same from both directions.
2nd - vertical viewing angle is even more restricted - if you try to set them up in a portrait orientation the mismatch described above is too much to tolerate.

wait there is more.
it's only been a year - one of them just died - the image became blotchy and striped and BAD.
the warranty is 3 years - so they will fix it ... I just have to pay for shipping one way

and one more thing - I have borrowed a viewsonic to use as a second monitor is being fixed, and mounted it next to the acer - color mismatch is pretty bad - the viewsonic I got does not have great viewing angles either... but the white background in text editor looks much more white than the acer - and it can not be adjusted with color temp controls.

so - in a pinch with a very tight budget - it will work ok,
if you want to mount it vertically - no go, dual monitor - passable - not great.
hope this helps

5.0 out of 5 stars well made, very flexible, April 26, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
seems well made - only have it for a week, so can't comment on durability

it looks good, its very flexible - sort of flows in you hands like a chain would - not bends like some of the stiff vinyl hoses.

recommended.

one very minor thing - very slight mismatch in color - you can't see in in the pictures, can't see it in person either, but when the thing is attached to the rest of the chrome - it has a slightly different shade - slightly more yellow. it's not a big deal, at least for us, not as big of a deal as replacing with the original which was part of the set and would cost 10 times as much as this replacement. so it's not expensive and no matter the tint looks better than the old broken one.

5.0 out of 5 stars well made specimen of one of the best cork screw designs, April 26, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
quite simply - the best

well made specimen of one of the best cork screw designs.

my parents had one of the same design for many decades, it changed continents with them and is still being used, and now I have one of my own,
better made to boot. I expect mine to last a life time, and then some - kids showing curiosity for wine already.

Also, it comes in a very attractive box so would make a great gift.

well worth the expense.

Adding this from a reply to another somewhat negative review:
"Not as easy to operate" someone said:
my reply:
I have a pretty strong grip and dexterity and have no problem applying force required for "rabbit ear" or any other cork screw
this thing is not really fast - probably takes longer than the "rabbit ear" or counter-mounted device,
but it definitely IS easy to operate no matter how strong or weak, clumsy or not you are....
well read it this way:
whether it is a first bottle you are opening or you already had quite a bit yourself - you will have no problem opening the next one ;-) - steady hand is not required :-)

3.0 out of 5 stars Great light, while you have it, April 26, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
lots of other reviews, so this will be short:
great bright light, all is well in that dept.

problem: it's gone ... lost, not stolen

details: I have a rack to which I attach rear lights via a simple L-shaped bracket, so its bolted well enough,
what happened, twice, was that the light body separated in two halves - same as you would when changing batteries.
I confess - I have too many bikes in the garage so it could have been knocked against one of the kids bikes - I found it on the floor in the garage.
The second time - all I have left is the empty rear half-shell bolted to the rack.

My impression is that the snap-together shell separates too easily.

otherwise - great light.

may be if I had it in a more sheltered location, under the seat for instance, where it would not get knocked about, there wouldn't be a problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars no kid is stupid enough to watch this, February 28, 2012
This review is from: Cool Dog (Amazon Instant Video)
the plot could pass for a kids movie, but the actors could not pass for anything
don't be mean to your children don't let them watch this c..p, they will watch it to avoid doing their homework, but that's about all it is worth, don't do it.

love German Shepherds - despise the movie,
avoid this movie like the plague,

1.0 out of 5 stars they could be free - still not worth the price/hassle, September 1, 2011
exactly the as some other reviewers - put the new batteries in use the dog collar for 20min. then turn off then turn on next day - no go
I have just tested them with voltmeter - the unused ones put out only 1V not 3V - no wonder.
I agree that the price can't be beat but when a device works for an hour (if at all) instead of a couple of days - I have to say : they are worthless.
