Miramont's Ghost
Miramont's Ghost
Price: $4.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok to read late at night, February 25, 2015
This review is from: Miramont's Ghost (Kindle Edition)
Nice descriptive writing. I could picture the places in my mind. In the midst of the sad story, there were some very interesting characters that were never fully developed. The story ends with unanswered questions, and for this reason I give it a 3.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pulitzer. Really?, August 18, 2014

It's usually best to read a book before all the hype. Expectations aren't as high. I might have given the book four stars if I had read it before the hype and wasn't expecting pure perfection. The book has many excellent qualities. The best being the descriptive prose that makes you feel like you are in the room and feeling all that the main character feels. Alas, it was too much, too long, and too depressing. The main character, while his apathy was understandable, wasn't very likable for a large part of the book. The gangster scene seemed fake; I seriously thought our hero was going to be double-crossed in the end. The actions and words were so corny and contrived. The ending was a flood of philosophy on life that would have made a bigger impact had it been directly addressed throughout the story rather than dumped in the last pages. All this being said, the writing itself was superb and I will read another book by this author as this was my first experience with her.

The game is fun but you can only go through three levels then you have to purchase or sign into Facebook or Twitter to continue. Not for me.

Love this movie! I find the Chinese culture intriguing but the theme of mother and daughter relationships is worldwide and timeless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous read, November 7, 2013
I was drawn to the characters from the very beginning. The story unfolds at an easy pace that leaves you wondering what will happen next to the sisters. Each sister's unique strengths and resilience is inspiring.

I love this show because it isn't a reality TV show exploiting human relationships. Heros is pure fantasy in the modern world without being about vampires or werewolves.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Story, January 30, 2013

Klasky's characters are witty, fun, and entertaining. Fright Court introduces a whole new underworld living in D.C. The heroine is likeable and relatable, while her supporting cast offers a bit of an edge. If you like something a bit out of the ordinary and not the run of the mill romance, this book should deliver. It's a quick, easy read.

This novella brings two of Klasky's characters together and the result was great fun. The story is moved along by alternating first person accounts of each character. It was easy to follow and kept things going. The story did seem a bit rushed in the novella format, but it left me intrigued that there might be another pairing of these two characters in the future.
