1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible piece of hardware, March 22, 2009
This is just an awful product. It broke in less than a year and is not constructed well or made solid. Can't withstand anything whatsoever and just recently broke. Trust me, don't buy anything made by SimpleTech if you want to keep your data safe.

5.0 out of 5 stars A vast array of quality sports writing, July 8, 2008
This book takes for you for a loop in that you think that the major sports are going to be covered in baseball, football, basketball and maybe some hockey. The first chapter is actually about racoon hunting and the next one is a satire about Bugs Bunny if he played in an actual baseball game.

In fact here is a list of the additional sports covered in this book:

-High school "futbol"
-High school football
-Former NFL player Jake Scott's wherabouts today
-Mark McGwire in retirement
-The first $100,000 bonus given to a baseball player
-Horseracing
-Don King & boxing
-Olympic skiier Bode Miller
-Cycling
-A woman race-car driver
-Fishing
-Surboarding
-Bill Parcells
-John Cheney
-Red Aurbach
-Shady HS Basketball sneaker company recruiting
-Travel baseball
-Former college football star's life after serious injury
-Pickup basketball games
-Pool
-Former college basketball player's encounter with stopping the shoe bomber
-Iraqi soccer
-Running
-Rodeos
-Turkey hunting

I am giving this book 5 stars to off-set the one-star rating because this book doesn't deserve that low of a rating. Most of the short-stories are from well-respected publications and notable authors. It is hard to read this book straight through because of the variety of the work, but it was a very high quality read.

1.0 out of 5 stars EA screws up again, November 29, 2004
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
ESPN College Hoops 2K5 is overall a much better game this year than March Madness 2005. I suggest that you should buy College Hoops 2K5 instead. These are the reasons why:

1. You can only edit the names of 325 players in the game. That's only 27 teams that you can completely edit! This really takes away from the game if you can't name all the players you want to.

2. The computer's defense recovers too quickly when you force a turnover, making fast breaks nearly impossible to get.

3. The graphics are not up to par in this game and are nothing compared to ESPN College Hoops 2K5. It's time for EA to update their graphics for their college games.

4. The discipline system for dynasty mode has an insane amount of players getting in trouble. This is even more of a problem in this game than it was in NCAA Football 2005.

5. The game is basically NBA Live with college teams. There's no difference between the 2 games, gameplay wise.

6. College Hoops 2k5 is $20 cheaper.

5.0 out of 5 stars The end of the original Transformer series., February 16, 2004
The entire 3rd season has 30 episodes. This DVD has the last 14 from season 3.
Season 3
17 Ghost in the Machine
18 The Dweller in the Depths
19 Nightmare Planet
20 The Ultimate Weapon
21 The Quintesson Journal
22 The Big Broadcast of 2006
23 Only Human
24 Grimlock's New Brain
25 Money Is Everything
26 Call of the Primitives
27 The Burden Hardest to Bear
28 The Face of Nijika
29 The Return of Optimus Prime (1)
30 The Return of Optimus Prime (2)
The entire 4th season only had 3 episodes and they are all on this DVD.
Season 4
1 The Rebirth (1)
2 The Rebirth (2)
3 The Rebirth (3)
Since these are some of the last episodes, I really don't want to spoil what happens in the end. I'll just say that Optimus Prime makes a triumphant return (obviously) and his Autobots will have to stop the Decepticons one last time in "The Rebirth" series.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Must Have Live CD!, November 25, 2003
This review is from: Live in Texas (Audio CD)
If you haven't seen or heard Linkin Park live, you MUST get this CD/DVD combo today! They are even better live than they are in the studio, which is a rarity for most bands today.

REASONS YOU SHOULD BUY THIS CD/DVD:

Different guitar riffs for various songs.
Added lyrics to One Step Closer.
Chester(LP's lead singer) screams like no other live.
Amazing cinematography on the DVD takes you right to the pit.
IT'S LINKIN PARK LIVE!

...And don't forget, everything's bigger in Texas.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible brain torture., June 20, 2003
How can anyone possibly listen to this awful CD? It sounds like a totally bad rip off of New Found Glory. The lead singer sounds like a whiny little girl throughout the entire disk. Konstantine is a 9 min song and is makes you just want to puke. He sounds like he's constipated and "sings" all depressed. Cheer up man. Besides, who names their kid Konstantine anyway?
Some chicks like it when singers sound very feminine. So it's ok for guys to play this to get a girl. But that doesn't mean that he should listen to the cd willingly without a girl around. That's just wrong. Go work out or something instead of listening to this awful cd.
ATTENTION: If you think this band is all "soft punk" then you need to be checked in to a mental hospital. There's no such thing as "soft punk" They are merely a pop rock band, and if you want punk then go buy the new NOFX, LTJ or Alkaline Trio.
If you are a depressed person and want to listen to depressing songs, buy this. If you are very strange and like a grown man sounding like a whining little girl, then buy this.
Anyways, I would definitely not buy this cd except for the reasons stated above. I do suggest that you buy cd's by bands like Dashboard Confessional that have singers that actually sound like dudes. It has some nice piano and some guitar, but the vocals kill the entire CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent sampling of Cowboy Bebop, June 9, 2003
This review is from: Cowboy Bebop - Best Sessions (DVD)
First of all, the DVD case is very cool and is based off of the tape that Faye Valentine watches in "Hard Luck Woman." The case that has the DVDs in it fits in to a very nice slipcase.
Now, for the DVDs themselves. The first three episodes on the first disk were picked by the director just for having the best sound. "Asteroid Blues" for the gun sequences and human interactions, "Ballad of Fallen Angels" for the music and "Wild Horses" for the spaceship action. The first two are classics, but "Wild Horses" suffers from a confusing plot and a really annoying character.
The second disk includes 3 episodes that the fans in Japan (Not U.S. fans) voted for. They include the heartfelt "Waltz for Venus", "Mushroom Samba" the one where the crew trips on shrooms and "Hard Luck Woman" which has Faye and Ed finding out their pasts.
EXTRAS: None, except for some trailers on the second disk, woo-hoo.(*sarcasm*)
SOUND: Amazing, especially if you have a super cool home theater like me.
Should you buy this as your first Bebop DVD?: I'd say no. You should get Cowboy Bebop - Sesson 1 to get a better understanding of the series, besides it's cheaper.
So when should I buy this DVD?:
-When you have an awesome home theater
-When you don't want to spend $ on Sessions 2 and 4 just for "Waltz" and for "Samba"
-When you're already familiar with Cowboy Bebop and don't want to buy Session 1 just for "Asteroid" and "Ballad".
-When you're an obsessed Bebop fan!!!
If it were up to me, I would have added such episodes as "Pierrot Le Fou" or "Cowboy Funk" instead of "Wild Horses" and "Hard Luck Woman" I think this deserves 4.5 stars, so I'm going to give it five to balance out the total score.

5.0 out of 5 stars A New Evolution of Linkin Park, March 28, 2003
If you listen to this for the first time, you will be speechless. You can't seem to put a finger on it, but this is a new and different Linkin Park. Maybe it's because they added more electronica or that Chester (The lead singer) sounds a lot more angry for some reason. Many of their songs are quite a bit heavier and upbeat than the songs on any of their other albums, but they have their soft ones later in the album. I'm also very happy that Mike (The lead "rapper") gets to show off his rhymes off a lot on this CD.
It seems like there is some sort of aura about this CD that makes it special. It's a sigh of relief from Linkin Park fans that have waited around a long time for new songs.
Also, this CD is a HUGE breath of fresh air, because LP loses a lot of Hybrid Theory's pop-friendly sound for this CD to be very original and different sounding. (No songs like Crawling or In The End to hurt your brain from listening to it for the 10,000th time!)
That is just the way Linkin Park is, they can't be labeled.

5.0 out of 5 stars Green Day does it again., March 12, 2003
This review is from: Shenanigans (Audio CD)
First of all, it's Green Day so this has to rule. Second of all, it isn't Warning or anything new by them.... I'm going to give this C.D. 5 stars, because Green Day has gotten away without recording any new albums in 3 years. Just think of how much money they're making WITHOUT TRYING!
Anyways, any Green Day fan should pick this up and be very happy with this remarkable collection of B-Sides. They're all great songs and you don't have to spend a bunch of time or money hunting these songs down on other records. You can just buy this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oldskool DBZ: Lots of fighting (SIX STARS!), March 10, 2003
This is definitely one of the best DBZ DVDs that you can buy. There isn't any cheap fusion in this DVD. Goku and Vegeta choose to fight alone vs. Buu and represent the true Saiyan race.
"How should we do it?" says Vegeta. "How about the old fashioned way?" says Goku. And they start playing rock paper scissors to decide who fights Buu first. Goku wins and starts to fight Buu. He loses energy from his SS3 transformation and Vegeta goes and helps. Then Vegeta gets beat up and Goku goes and helps him. Goku wants to then gain energy for the spirit bomb so Vegeta then has to hold Buu off...But can he?
This DVD is nothing but nonstop action and oldskool Saiyan fighting. This is definitely a MUST HAVE if you're a true or even a casual Dragonball Z fan. It is the BEST DVD in the Kid Buu Saga. Vegeta even shows his softer side in this.
