5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, March 10, 2010
In this powerful book, Judge Napolitano shatters the myth that the government works in the people's best interest. Instead, he shows, elected officials and central bankers use deception in order to expand their own power at the expense of our freedom. Any person - Republican or Democrat, old or young, - needs to read this book to understand the nature of government and how it constantly takes actions that threaten our lives, liberties, and possessions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, September 15, 2009
I just picked up my copy of Crash Proof 2.0.
I read the first edition a few years ago, and all of that material is included in this one, but Peter also adds over 80 pages of new information. I recommend picking this up and passing it along to friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Important Book of Our Generation, August 31, 2009
This review is from: End the Fed (Hardcover)
The Federal Reserve will no longer be just the name on the front of our dollar bills. Thanks to Ron Paul, millions of Americans are waking up to the true nature of this institution. Drawing on history, economics, and his personal experiences as a congressman, Dr. Paul shows us why the Federal Reserve cannot exist in a truly free and prosperous society. "End the Fed" is an interesting and engaging book that every American who cares about this country should read.

Meltdown: A Free-Market Look at Why the Stock Market Collapsed, the Economy Tanked, and Government Bailouts Will Make Things Worse
Meltdown: A Free-Market Look at Why the Stock Market Collapsed, the Economy Tanked, and Government Bailouts Will Make Things Worse
by Thomas E. Woods
Edition: Hardcover
Price: $6.98
228 used & new from $0.01

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Explanation for the Crash, May 11, 2009
Most economists say our current economic crisis was caused by deregulation. Most economists are wrong.

In Meltdown, Thomas Woods explains that the United States economy has been nothing close to free-market capitalism.

It was excessive spending, regulation, borrowing, taxation, and inflation that caused our problems. Therefore, the popular notion that we need to spend more, borrow more, regulate more, and print more couldn't be further from the truth.

In this short but informative book, Mr. Woods explains not only how we got into this crisis, but also how we can get out of it.

I recommend this to all.

Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto

1.0 out of 5 stars What a joke!, March 28, 2009
I gave in to the hype and bought Mark Levin's #1 bestseller. It's called "Liberty and Tyranny" and unfortunately his book often leans towards the latter.

He quotes the founders and rants against "statists" but then endorses extreme anti-liberty measures such as the Patriot Act, torture, Guantanamo, and aggressive overseas adventurism. He also speaks well of neoconservative warmongers (whom he refers to as national defense conservatives).

As for economic issues, Mark doesn't say one thing about our one trillion dollar a year overseas/military spending, and he doesn't so much as mention the Federal Reserve, the cause of our economic turmoil.

Barry Goldwater must be rolling in his grave with such nonsense masquerading as conservatism. I really feel sorry for Levin's hordes of well-intended supporters who will be left only half-educated about economic liberty, and totally uneducated about civil liberty and a sensible foreign policy.

For those interested, I recommend the following educational materials:
