5.0 out of 5 stars Great story, May 1, 2015

Nice read, no zombies at the end of this world, but enough mystery and struggle and caring to make the story enjoyable and real.

Some good points, several interesting stories, a lot of specious logic and pseudo-spirituality. This book is really a story about the author's father, would have been more honest if he had written a memoir. Oh, and some basic medical research would have corrected his errors regarding strokes, but that is a side issue, really.

Read this as a kid and it has stuck with me for years. Repurchased recently and enjoyed it just as much today - which is something to say because many of the "great" stories I read as a kid were not really so good later on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best of the genre, IMO, April 9, 2015

Torn with this - left an in-depth review on GoodReads. It is the best of the genre, I think. But - it was written in first-person (which drives me nuts) and at times it seemed too contrived. But - the story makes you think a lot. Very definitely worth a read. And worth putting up with first-person.

Great werewolf story - probably the best of the genre. Of course you don't watch these movies and not expect violence.

I doubt I need to review this - it is a general consensus in the hiking community that this product is well worth the $$ and weight. Works wonderfully.

Probably one of the best, if not _the_ best vampire movies ever. What vampires would like really be like if they were actually hanging around.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent bag - hike with them all the time., April 9, 2015

Use them all the time - three of them. One for all the food in my bear bag, one for "today's food" and one for trash. Neither mouse, mini-bear nor bear has bothered my food. I replace them every couple of years to make sure they are still working 100%. At times the seal can be troublesome (if you overstuff, for example). I wish they had a "blue and yellow seals to green" type technology - but still worth the price.
