I am no wine connoisseur. But I definitely noticed an improved taste to my $12 bottle of wine. Simple to use, and for that price, why not?!

Hard to imagine there will be a better album than this in 2014. Absolutely sublime. Best band currently making music...

You know...I really like the Swell Season and the Frames. But this...

I don't know what to say. This album is just so emotional, so real.

It has instantly joined my top albums of all time. I can't help but sing along. At times I want to cry; other times, I feel a strength I don't think I could bear on my own. I can't stop listening to it.

Thank you, Glen.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Addition to the catalog, September 21, 2012
This review is from: Mirage Rock (Audio CD)
OK...This is not like the first 3 albums...And, yes, that's OK.

I can agree with some of the reviews here. At first listen, this album does not strike that immediate, natural chord that all of us fans of the previous records were hoping to hear.

I went through the album in consecutive full-length listens. The first time through as I prepared dinner, and I pretty much shrugged it off as OK; the second, after eating, and reading along with the lyrics (something i very seldom do and/or enjoy doing). My opinion changed quickly. This album is good...it's real good. While they don't deliver as many memorable hooks as their previous endeavors, the song writing is incredible and lyrically potent. The songs are deep and meaningful and very well thought-out.

If you are a fan of the Avett Brothers, you could equate this release with their latest. Yes, produced for the ear of the masses, but produced incredibly well. You can tell BoH are very pleased with the outcome (see liner notes). They feel they created what they wanted, and i get it.

I, for one, am happy for them and what seems to be some success. Enjoy their earlier albums as they are, and stop expecting part II. There is lots of great music out there!

5.0 out of 5 stars Critics, please..., July 13, 2011

All negative reviews are crazy. No, this is not a collection of brilliantly crafted pop songs. What it is is 19 beautiful and intimate songs. I am relatively new to David Gray, but love White Ladder, Life in Slow Motion, etc. If you are really a fan, you can't go wrong with Foundling. Just beautiful...

if you, at all, like david byrne get this now!!! It is definitely his best solo album...though, i DO like feelings and his self-titled one very much.

And i don't care what some crazy people say...David has an AMAZING voice! Just TRY not to sing along!

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid...Solid...Solid, November 13, 2005

Ahhhh...another great band from the Montreal scene...Wolf Parade has emerged with a fantastic debut album, and unlike some other reviewers, i definitely feel they can improve with age...However, they COULD easily fizzle, seeing their penchant for adding new members and possibly becoming TOO incohesive. But, with that said, this is an amazing album with only a couple tracks that aren't great. The opening song - "I am a runner..." is simply great...if you like jerky guitars and fantastic lyrics/vocals..."modern world" morphs beautifully out of the first track and immediately lets you know that this will be a solid album. the 3rd track has to remind you of modest mouse, but is still very good (not saying m.m. is not good). the album continues strong and finishes fine...though they could have removed or at least moved the last track "this hearts on fire", as it is a little weak, comparatively.

I think they have their own sound, but if i was to compare them to other artists...i would say they are a little bit modest mouse, a little bit early david bowie, and will get you moving like arcade fire.

btw, the ep is well worth the money...2 tracks not included on the album that are solid.
