This is a funny laugh out loud one minute and crying the next book. Very well written. Easy to read and follow the lives of the women the author attended.
But what caught me off guard was her nonchalant way of abandoning her family. First her husband who took care of home and hearth and baby while she was taking care of everyone else. Her baby who waiting with arms out stretched for his mama to return home yet again.
But the real sad moment was when she at the young age of 2 decided her son did not need his nursing any longer. Where she got that time frame I am clueless. She let this poor child who was without his mama more than with cry for 10 hours straight while clutching the bars of his crib. She ignored him. Probably his only real connection with his absent mama was his nursings. This was his security and love. She denied him of this. And to boot let him scream for 10 hours until he gave up and lost trust that she would come back to love him.
She then had an affair while still with baby's dad. This while dad is home keeping the home hearth burning so to speak.
I was very much enjoying this book and would like to keep readying. I am only 30% into this read. But have lost all respect for this author as a woman and a mother.
