4.0 out of 5 stars all you need to know, June 15, 2006
all you need to know is that richard diamond had a very sexy receptionist whose face was never seen, just her very nice looking legs. we also get to hear her incredibly sexy voice. of course, unless you live under a rock, you remember the receptionist was played by a then unknown named mary tyler moore!!!

a bit or tivia for you, mary left the series early on and didn't even complete the first season. honestly, i don't remember. i do recall that she was paid a mere pitence for the show.

5.0 out of 5 stars two words - david milch, April 30, 2006
This review is from: Deadwood: Season 2 (DVD)
deadwood is the latest creation from emmy winner david milch, ``nypd blue.'' that's really all you need to know. of course, that means the show has lots of profanity and graphic scenes!

but it can be easily argued, that aside from aaron sorkin, milch is the second most brilliant writer, director, producer to hit the small screen. and to milch's credit, he is doing this show sober, which couldn't be said when he did blue.

5.0 out of 5 stars may be ponty's best?, February 4, 2006
This review is from: Taste for Passion (Audio CD)
i love stay with me. like another reviewer pointed out, the song sends chivers down my spine. jean-luc's violin just sings. add, a deep base line and it might be my favorite jean-luc ponty tune ever recorded!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars finally, its here, July 22, 2005
i don't understand fox at all. while i'm glad that the best sitcom to ever grace the small screen, has finally got 2 seasons out on dvd, it's a shame it's taken forever. fox has done the same thing with nypd blue too. i agree all of these sets were overpriced to begin with. but i'm also of the opinion, that there are enough hardcore fans who will buy these sets. now, lets get season 3 through 7 released. and while you're at it fox, there are a ton more seasons of blue to release as well!!

5.0 out of 5 stars california dreaming, June 6, 2002
This review is from: Past Light (Audio CD)
this was the first william ackerman recording i heard. i was in the navy and going through a mid-life crisis. for some strange, truly wonderful reason, this disc reminded me (and still does) of california - which was a much happier time in my life. every time i need to meditate, cry, or just embrace life, this is the album i listen to. by the way, it means everything in the world to me that this album cover just came back signed, ``thanks for listening linda, will.''

5.0 out of 5 stars unbelieveable, March 30, 2002
This review is from: Hearing Voices (Audio CD)
the beauty of william ackerman's work is that it comes straight from the heart. i won't dwell on technical issues here but i love his music for this simple reason: it is beautifully haunting and very emotional. like a previous reviewer, i have found his music inspiring and gratifying. so it only come naturally that he would finally feature vocals on an album. and while his guitar may not be the spotlight of most of the pieces on this album, it is quietly there, not overpowering. i have one word to describe this: breathtaking. buy this album now!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars best hedges, February 23, 2002
This review is from: Aerial Boundaries (Audio CD)
just a few days ago, i read an on-line reviewer who wrote that aerial boundaries may have been the best piece written for guitar. i would agree 100 percent. i still get goosebumps when i listen to the title track. and if you really want to see and hear something beautiful - not sure which windham hill laser disc this was the title track too, as well. but you get a birdeye's view of beautiful blue skies and large white clouds that seem to travel as far as the eye will allow. this is how i like to remember michael.

3.0 out of 5 stars as the subplots thicken, December 22, 1999
Poor Kate. There are more twists and turns in this book then the race track at Watkins Glen. And that's what bothers me about this book. The basic plot, the basic murder mystery that Katherine Forrest writes so well is here. But the additional subplots of the long-lost brother and Aimee's best friend's abusive ex detract from the main story line. Either one of the sub plots could and should work independently. The other sub plot, Kate's unexpected passionate embrace, in my mind, needed to be developed further. That would provide additional tension to the developing plot.
