5.0 out of 5 stars Yet Another Great Live Outlaws Release, March 13, 2015
LIVE ANTHOLOGY 1975-1981 features great live recordings by the Outlaws from both the Henry Paul AND Freddie Salem eras. One reviewer has said that the sound quality is wanting, but I didn't notice that AT ALL. The sound is great, and the playing and singing absolutely sterling. The Outlaws have a way of blending lots of different styles, ranging from country and rock to bluegrass and blues to classical and folk, with lots of sweet vocal harmonies and slash-and-burn guitars in the mix. Buy this and you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet Another Great Double Live Release By The Outlaws, January 4, 2015
THE OUTLAWS LIVE AT NASSAU COLISEUM, FEBRUARY 19, 1979 is yet another great double live archival CD of the Outlaws from their 70s heyday, once again capturing them in front of an enthusiastic New York crowd. This set features some of the hottest guitar playing to be found ANYWHERE in 1979, a year when new wave and punk were sounding a death knell for many traditional bands. Ironically, this may have benefitted the Outlaws by wiping out much of their competition, as did the demise of Lynyrd Skynyrd in a plane crash in 1977. Whatever the circumstances, this set is a must-own for ANY serious pop, rock, and/or country fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, If Brief, Collection Of The Outlaws' 70s Music, December 20, 2014
This review is from: The 70s: The Outlaws (Audio CD)
THE 70S: THE OUTLAWS is a great ten-track collection of the Outlaws' best 70s songs. Unlike SUPER HITS, it includes a couple of Henry Paul's contributions to the band. Granted, the band's biggest hit, "Ghost Riders In The Sky", isn't here, as it was released in 1980, but it isn't missed. In fact, the CD plays better without it, as its intention is to focus on the Outlaws' 70s work.

5.0 out of 5 stars The MTB Play It Hot At Raceway Park, December 10, 2014
LIVE! ENGLISHTOWN NJ SEPT. 3 1977 is a hot concert by the Marshall Tucker Band. Some reviewers have said that the sound quality was poor, but I didn't notice any issues with it. However, I have live recordings from the show in Passaic, New Jersey (also from '77) and Long Island, NY (from '80) on my iPod, and those sound stellar. I'm not really sure whether this show was intended to be a live release, so that may explain why little attention is paid to the recording. Nevertheless, I learned in Humanities class in school that it's the musicianship, not the sound quality, that makes a piece of music a work of art, so this one gets 5 stars on songs, singing, and playing alone.
