2.0 out of 5 stars It Isn't the Others that threatens Westeros, It's the Ungodly amount of filler in Feast of Crows, November 20, 2005
As I finally came to the last hundred or so pages, I just couldn't wait for this book to be over. It is 684 pages of nothing but minor characters, and minor deaths, with no plot advancement. Having a character run around doing nothing for hundreds of pages only to die at the end is pointless. I'm just so frustrated. To save you the long hours it will take to read this, I will quickly summarize each character's story.

Arya - She is hardly in the book at all and when she is she is selling oysters in Bravos

Brienne - She wanders around aimlessly accomplishing absolutely nothing. The reader doesn't even learn anything important that he/she didn't already know.

Cersei - Each of her chapters follows a similar format of "Jamie is not my lover anymore", "I'm afraid of the prophecy", and concluded with her making an obviously stupid decision that she thought was rather cunning.

Jamie - Thinks about his sister and travels to Riverrun

Samwell - Took the entire book to do nothing but travel from The Wall to Oldtown

Sansa - Like Arya she is also hardly in the book and does a whole lot of nothing

Random minor characters - Add nothing but secondary stories that better prove to have some significance with the amount of pages they wasted.

What is even worse is that I can't imagine the next book will be any better. If Dance of Dragons is supposed to occur at the exact same time as Feast of Crows what could it possibly accomplish? We know Danny didn't cross the sea. We know the Others haven't crossed The Wall yet. We know Lord Stannis doesn't attack Kings Landing. How can there be any real plot advancement? The first three books were so great, yet this series apparently decided it wanted to emulate the recent Wheel of Time and Harry Potter books instead.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the past 3 years these things do happen., March 13, 2005
I really have to say that I think this movie is amazing. While I think the story is painfully dumb (as in the way nobody ever tries to do anything to stop the phantom), the music is spectacular. I'd choose the movie soundtrack over the original Broadway recording in a second. Though Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman are technically better singers, I don't think Crawford sounds like a phantom in misery and Emmy Rossum is just so much more pleasant to listen to than Brightman. So don't trust the pretentious individuals who gave this movie a negative review. After all, they know so much more about music than you do ::rolls eyes::. I could understand how people could be disappointed because they have this preconceived vision of how the phantom should be, but I must say, this production is amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW, January 11, 2005
This review is from: White Turns Blue (Audio CD)
Well all I have to say is Maria Mena is my new favorite singer. While her lyrics are amazing as are her melodies, her voice is just so original. My favorite song is by far "Your Glasses," however, other outstanding tracks include Blame it on Me, What's Another Day, Sorry, and You're the Only one. If you like White turns Blue I must recomend her 1st album Another Phase. While you might not be able to find it in the states, you should really check out the songs "Ugly" and "Sleep to Dream."

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, August 26, 2004
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I simply loved this movie: emotional story, great characters, unbelievable animation/art.....what is not to love? It is a shame that this film bombed in theaters. Though it was advertised as a silly (a.k.a. stupid [and probably the reason for its unimpressive earnings]) funny movie, I would say this has to be one of Disney's best. It is definitely a movie for all ages, except perhaps the very, very young. Read the other reviews if you need more convincing. You will also notice that most of the negative posts come from parents, who picked the movie apart because their young child was frightened or imitated something a character did. So go out and buy/rent/borrow/ this movie because if you have not seen it, you are missing out.

5.0 out of 5 stars the live, August 14, 2004
This review is from: Everybody's Fool (Audio CD)
Forget Everybody's Fool, buy this for the live tracks. I think their Cologne show had to have been one of their best performances, I have loved every song from it. (They really should put the live version of Breathe No More on a single)....anyway.....the live recording of Whisper is FANTASTIC!! Taking Over Me is good but man....Whisper....

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, January 16, 2004
This review is from: The Da Vinci Code (Hardcover)
I absolutely loved this book; great concept with and extremely interesting viewpoint on the early church. I find it rather amusing how most of the poor reviews this book has received come from what appear to be Christian fanatics. The book, however, is not without its flaws. The characters are nothing more than cardboard cutouts. While I would have appreciated realistic, breathing, characters to read about, it in no way detracted from my enjoyment of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great CD!!!, January 7, 2004
This review is from: Haunted (Audio CD)
I 1st heard about P.O.E. from a friend at school this year. I purchased this CD (along with House of Leaves) and wow. I love almost every song, and I just love the whole feel of the album. Control, Wild, 5&1/2 Minute Hallway, Hey Pretty, and Amazed are my favorite songs on the album. The only songs that I feel are laking are Terrible Thought and Spanish Doll. Other then that, it is simply an amazing CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, May 9, 2003
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After seeing X2, my interest in X-Men once again came alive. This DVD is great. They picked some very good episodes from the cartoon series and it felt very nostalgic. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because another episode or 2 would have been appreciated.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, May 9, 2003
This book has its highs as well as its lows. While it covers most of the main characters and quite a few lesser known characters, there are some huge omissions. X-Force, X-Factor, and Excalibur are mentioned NOWHERE in this book. If a character was on one of those teams, the book skips over that part of his or her history. And while it nice that they include a lot of obscure morlocks (though most without any written description), obscure Acolytes, etc., more well known characters (but still a little obscure in their own right) like Strong Guy, Shard, D-Ken, Mondo, Master Mold, Game Master, Revanche, X-Treme, Red Lotus, The Nasty Boys, Silver Fox, Mutant Liberation Front, Jean Grey's makeshift X-men members, some members of the Starjammers, some members of X-Factor, some members of Excalibur, etc. are also omitted from the book. Instead of wasting 13 pages on X-Statix, they should have added more characters and expanded some bios.

3.0 out of 5 stars Only get this if you are a huge fan of the band, April 28, 2003
Ok I AM a huge fan of Evanescence, and i still felt let down with this buy. "Bring Me to Life" is great, but don't be fooled by the Bliss Mix. All the Bliss Mix is, is "Bring Me To Life" without Paul McCoy's lines, that is it.
As for the other songs, while its great to get them, since they were cut from the album, they are not that good. The slow "Missing", however, is better than the fast, hard "Farther Away". The 3rd song cut from the album, "Breathe No More", is much better; sadly it is not on this single.
If you want to have Bing Me to Life without buying the album, or want to have the 2 extra songs, go for it. Other than that, be wary about buying this single.
