4.0 out of 5 stars The high flash is bright enough to be quite annoying for anybody riding behind you, November 28, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This light is really bright. It takes about 5 hours to charge with the included micro-USB cable, and I found that a full charge lasts about 20 hours on the first flash mode. There's a battery indicator after you cycle through all the modes; it will flash blue a few times if the battery is > 25%, and it will flash red if it's < 25%. The light is also waterproof, as long as you make sure to replace the silicone cover over the charging port securely. I've used the light in heavy rain and have had no problems.

One thing I think it is missing is a low flash mode. The high flash is bright enough to be quite annoying for anybody riding behind you, so when riding with somebody, or on trails with no cars, a low flash mode would be more useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars These gloves are great for biking down to the high 30s, November 28, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These gloves are great for biking down to the high 30s. I find that my hands are cold for the first few minutes, but these gloves make it tolerable until I warm up. The silicone detail on the index and middle fingers are great for braking, even in the rain, and the reflected logo on the backs are good for signaling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best brand of athletic tape I've used, January 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've used a variety of brands of athletic tape, and this is far and away the best. The tape rips easily and cleanly, sticks well, and stays on even through some sweat, blood, and tears. It's kind of pricey in most places, but sometimes you can catch a good price on Amazon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good lights, but quality may vary, January 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bicycle light
These lights are surprisingly bright, especially given their size and price. They won't work for finding your way on a dark trail in the pitch black, but they'll be fine for being seen by cars on residential roads. The current seller ships from Hong Kong, so it may take a few weeks for the package to arrive. Not a big deal if you're willing to wait.

The quality isn't consistent, though. The switch is supposed to cycle through high, fast blink, slow blink, and off. I bought three lights; two of them work great, but there's something wrong with the circuitry in the switch of the third. Instead of cycling like intended, it cycles seemingly randomly through the modes, and sometimes it takes more than 20 clicks to successfully turn it off. It could be a good idea to buy a couple extra, just in case you get a dud, and to save yourself the hassle of contacting the seller for a replacement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice taillights, but quality may vary, January 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These lights are nice and bright, especially given their size and price. They're pretty indestructible, and you don't have to worry about them getting stolen. They wrap around your seatpost securely, and they're very convenient to take on and off if you ever need to.

That said, your mileage may vary. I bought three of these lights; two of them work perfectly, and the third works, but has kind of a janky switch that only works if I press it in a certain way. Not a big deal for me, but it might be a good idea to order a couple extra in case you get a lemon, just to save yourself some hassle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nothing special, January 6, 2014

This story isn't really untold, as it doesn't contain anything you couldn't piece together from other sources anyway. I'm pretty sure the information contained within is a strict subset of the Wikipedia article, for example.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good gloves for warm-to-chilly days, January 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As described, the gloves have no padding on the palm other than a double layer of the synthetic leather in some places, but they're quite durable. The backs of the gloves are mesh, except for the patch on the thumb that's a softer flannel-like material, presumably for wiping your nose. Because they're mesh, they're not very windproof or insulating, so your hands will get cold if it's maybe 40 degrees or below, or if it's very windy. Above that should be fine, though.

According to a tag on the inside, these gloves are machine washable (cold, drip dry), which is convenient.

My only complaint is that there are some seams at the tips of some of the fingers that rub under my fingernails sometimes, but I trimmed them down with scissors, and I don't notice it when I'm riding anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good light for nighttime commuting, January 6, 2014
This review is from: NiteRider Mako 200 Light
I use this light for nighttime bike commuting. It's nice and bright - I'd say the "high" setting is just bright enough to see on a paved bike trail in the pitch dark, and the "low" setting is more than enough for residential streets. The mount is secure, and the light is easily removed and replaced from the mount.

The plastic casing has some rough edges, especially around the gills on the sides and the seam where you screw off the bulb to replace the batteries. This is entirely cosmetic, though, and doesn't impair the functionality of the light at all. All in all, it's a great light and I have no complaints, especially at this price point.

4.0 out of 5 stars phone is fine, Windows Phone 7 isn't great, June 19, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my first smartphone, so I'm not an expert, but I'm very happy with the hardware. The screen is very responsive, no lag, the colors are nice and bright, and the camera is pretty good as well. On the other hand, the operating system isn't great. Windows Phone 7 doesn't allow you to resize the icons on the home screen, and I had some trouble installing apps, so you'd probably need to upgrade to WP 7.5 or 7.8, for which you need a Windows or Mac computer with the Zune software installed.

If you're using the phone to look up directions a lot, be aware that Bing Maps doesn't have the public transportation option that Google Maps has. There's no Google Maps app, and as of June 2013 you can't hit Google Maps through the browser, either, since Google has for some reason blocked the Maps mobile website on Windows Phone devices. So if you're looking to use public transit in an unfamiliar place, this phone won't be much help.

One note on the unlockedness of the phone. I purchased the phone from Phone Etc. The box, the manuals in the box, and the phone itself were all branded AT&T, and the phone came with a bunch of AT&T apps installed, so I was worried that the phone was still locked to AT&T's network. However, it turns out that it was indeed unlocked. I was able to hook up the phone to Three in the UK and it's worked without problems.

If you'd like to check and don't have a SIM card from another GSM carrier to just stick in and try, you can instead check the Diagnosis Panel. Go to the phone keypad like you're making a call, dial ##634#, and press call. After a few seconds, another keypad labeled "Diagnosis" should pop up. On that keypad, dial *#7465625# and it takes you to another screen with a few buttons, the first of which shows you the lock status (SIM/USIM Lock, Network Lock, Network Subset Lock, Service Provider Lock, Corporate Lock). If it's locked, you can call up AT&T, and as I understand for a phone this old they'll just give you the code to unlock it for free. Otherwise, your phone should be good to go.
