5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and light, March 10, 2013
Interesting take on some fairy tales! Lighthearted humor with some darker overtones thrown in for good measure. A quick read.

10 little Indians couched in a space/SciFi setting. Quick read. Reads more like a young adult book. Good for a diversion.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time!, January 2, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Dont buy this book! This book is just a horrible mess for a number of reasons:

• 1. It's NOT written by actress and cookbook writer Suzanne Somers, it's written by someone named Suzanne Summer in an obvious attempt to capitalize and mislead people.
• 2. The recipes are almost unreadable and read like a poorly translated foreign instruction manual. Many recipes are so bad you can't even follow what they want you to do. Funny, the first couple of recipes (you know, the ones Amazon would send you as a sample when you click the link) are fine, but every one after that is an absolute mess.
• 3. Measurements are mostly in grams and milligrams, not ounces.
• 4. Almost every recipe calls for most of the ingredients to be cooked, fried, sautéed, etc in a pan or pans before adding to the crockpot. At that stage why use a crockpot at all? Just finish cooking in the pan!

• Do not waste your money! I highly suspect that the positive reviews are fake.
• I got it when it was free and even at that it wasn't worth it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Its ok. True Trekkies will buy it., December 9, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm somewhat ambivalent on this one. While it looks great sitting there and the voice recording of Sulu is cool, the novelty wears off quickly. The book is a little smaller than I expected and sort of reads more like a storybook than a "historical text". The base is really cool looking until you realize it's flimsy, plasticky feeling (I mean it is plastic and all). The "extras" others have mentioned tucked into the rear book jacket are nothing but an envelope with some Zephram Cochrane warp notes scribbled on it, a small foldout diagram of the Enterprise, a transparency looking diagram of a Trill and something else not worth mentioning.
Cool gift for the true Trekkie but don't be fooled by the supposed $99 price tag marked down to $59. This sells for $59 anyplace.

1.0 out of 5 stars Illegal - prosecution likely!, April 13, 2010
Not only is this out of date and a waste of cash, but just having it is illegal (check the notice at the bottom of every page). I'm sure selling it is breaking a whole bunch of laws and I'm sure Amazon has some liability as well!

4.0 out of 5 stars Enterprise - Why can't I see the light?, March 24, 2010
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars
W/o rehashing what others have said about the stand's durability (bad cheap mistake) and lack of total (come on, it's only an 8" model/toy!) authenticity, my big complaint is that this edition, while fully detailed and painted, comes on a plain black base while the "raw cast" edition (no paint, right out of the mold, looks like a reject and costs more!) comes with an additional lighted platform for the standard base to sit on.
Who wants to light up a raw cast, unpainted ship? Why wasn't the light up platform shipped with the painted and detailed version? I actually went and purchased a damaged "raw cast" version just so I could get the light up platform to use with my painted edition. (Ah, I just answered my own question. They get you to buy 2 editions to get the light up base!) The base should either be sold seperately or it should come with this edition. Just seems like a way to milk us collectors.
