5.0 out of 5 stars very detailed, February 2, 2013

Yoda looks very detailed, and has plenty of joints to allow one to place it in whatever position you'd like. Very nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars smooth motion, February 2, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This ball head allows for very nice, smooth motions of the camera, which is I guess more important for shooting videos than for taking pictures. I use it with a Manfrotto 190XPROB, and it seems like a great tripod (but then again, this is my first tripod that cost more than $40, so I'm no expert).

4.0 out of 5 stars works, October 9, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The cable works just fine connecting a Macbook Air with a 21-inch Dell display. The only issue I've found is that every half an hour or so, there is a small, wave-like distortion of the display for a second or so. This doesn't really bother me, and I don't know whether it's a flaw of the cable or it has something to do with my specific setup.

4.0 out of 5 stars very useful for video/live view, August 27, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The viewfinder was easy to install -- though if you're pressed by time, note that you have to wait 24 hours for the glass screen to attach to the camera. The viewfinder then snaps onto the edge of this screen. I'm not sure exactly why the glass is useful at all---I would have thought the frame would have been enough---but the quality of the display is not diminished by it, so I don't mind it. The frame doesn't cover anything important on my Canon EOS 7D, though I do think it partly obscures the Canon logo; I can't imagine anyone being bothered by that, though.

The viewfinder makes it possible to comfortably shoot video or live view for extended periods of time and/or in bright daylight; it is almost indispensable for obtaining proper (manual) focus while shooting video. The one thing I don't like: I think the hinge that allows the lens to be lifted up is pointless, and just makes the viewfinder more prone to breaking. It's no big deal though, since you can always glue it shut.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great, but *not for T-Mobile 3G*, May 31, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The device does what it claims--it boosts the mobile signal in the 800 MHz and 1900 MHz frequency bands. That said, the description is rather unclear about the fact that this booster will NOT work for T-Mobile's 3G signal, because that uses a frequency band of 2100 MHz. I got a beautiful boost of my edge signal, but nothing for 3G, which was the main reason to purchase this device--so I just returned it.

Again, if you read the description carefully, and are aware of the frequency bands that T-Mobile uses for 3G, it is no surprise that this device doesn't help with T-Mobile 3G. I do, however, think that the description should clearly state "not for T-Mobile 3G", since most people don't know what frequency bands each mobile phone company uses. I should also say that it's extremely hard to find any boosters for T-Mobile's 3G... I've only been able to find one company making such things, and they cost about $500.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great spacious bag, though not easy access, April 20, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The bag is very spacious. Right now it fits my Canon Digital Rebel XT, with three lenses (a Sigma 70-300 mm [with hood], a Sigma 18-125 mm [with hood], and a Canon 50 mm), a flash (Speedlite 430EX), a macro adapter (Raynox DCR-250), a couple of filters, some spare batteries, battery charger, a minitripod, flash extension cord, remote flash trigger system, remote camera trigger, flash dome diffuser, white balance cards, flash gels, cables, some spare memory cards, and it still can fit a laptop, provided the diagonal is 13" or smaller. It also has straps that allow you to attach a full-size tripod to the bag. The bag seems quite sturdy. The interior organization can be changed by moving around pads that can connect to the sides of the bag and to each other using velcro.

The fact that you can carry the bag on your back (as opposed to your shoulder) makes it much more comfortable to carry around, but also has the drawback of making it harder to access stuff. You essentially need to rest the bag horizontally on some surface any time you want to access something in the main compartment (otherwise things might fall out). So this might not be ideal if you change lenses a lot or switch filters or flashes or what not, but otherwise I strongly recommend it.

Sunpak MINI-PLUS Mini Tripod with 3-Way Panhead
Sunpak MINI-PLUS Mini Tripod with 3-Way Panhead

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite portable, but very flimsy, April 20, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this minitripod to use with my Canon Digital Rebel XT. It's quite a bit bigger than the flexible legged minitripods (but those wouldn't be able to hold a digital SLR properly), but is still very portable. Unfortunately, the construction is quite flimsy, and it seems hard to get stable pictures on this tripod. On the plus side, it does extend to a pretty good height (i'd say about two feet [60 cm]), it's not too heavy, and as I said, it's small, so you can carry it around with you all the time. This, and the fact that it's very cheap, is why I gave this item four stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very useful, and not only for Speedlite owners/users, April 20, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The book is very well written, and it includes a lot of information that is useful even if you're not using Speedlites. There is a lot of information about lighting in general, including using sunlight for your pictures, or using light modifiers to reflect or change light from any source you might have. There is also some advice about posing for pictures and framing, about the kind of gear you need for various kinds of photography (action, scenery etc.), as well as some info about white balance. The book includes a white balance card and a color-test card. You can obviously use essentially all the suggestions in the book with any comparable quality flashes, not only Canon Speedlites (like Nikons, for example, though of course you get most features only if you use a Canon flash on a Canon camera, and a Nikon one on a Nikon). The main drawback is that you find out how many expensive things you might still want to buy in order to obtain great lighting for your pictures (like a couple more flashes, or flash gels, or remote flash triggers, to name a few).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great color and light output, but a little noisy, April 20, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love the light that these guys give, the color is great, and the light output is good. The only drawback is that they buzz quite a lot, so it can be annoying to have them on for a long time. I mostly bought them for photography purposes, and since I don't really take pictures all day long, the buzzing doesn't bother me too much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great (and cheap), April 20, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've owned three of these guys for about a month now. They are easy to attach and they seem to stick quite well to the lens caps. As someone else mentioned, if you're worried they won't, you can always add some adhesive of your own. It can sometimes be a little hard to find an appropriate spot to attach the strap to the lens, especially for short lenses like the Canon 50mm f/1.8 , but it's only really a problem when you change lenses (the strap falls off the end of the lens), and even then the strap is really easy to put back on.
