Michael Shermer did a good job on this book. Buy it while you still can, if you can.
So many years have past but when this was written so much had happened already.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written but I couldn't stop reading, May 16, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This story is not presented well and could be done a lot better but I still highly recommend buying this.
It's a sad story about a pretty bad guy but after being so heavily molested at so young an age things
just never were going to be right.

I suspect there are bits of his story missing here as well. He seems to speak into a recorder with another
person putting it to print. The person putting his words to print just plain *sucked at the job. He's high
it seems 95% of the time he does his dictation.

He blames the porn/sex industry for way to much IMO. He created his own world and he paid a high price
for all of it. It's such a curious read the legendary porn star who created "verbal porn".

He apologizes a lot in the book to a lot of people so he's probably holding back some details and
he admits to lying in parts of it. It'll make you want to see his movies since he references them often.

If you already are a collector of his movies this is a must read.

Jon Vincent screwed over every single person that cared about him and helped him. He seems to come clean
about it but life bit him on the ass with the heroin and then death. He was a serious loser by any standard
but you come back to the abuse as a little boy ?? Can't help but cut him some slack due to that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must see documentary***, April 4, 2013

This review is from: Beware of Mr. Baker (DVD)
I've seen this many times already (iTunes). I'm a huge fan of Ginger, and pretty much anything Cream related
but especially Ginger. There is nothing listed in the description above about any "Extras". I am hoping
for **anything** extra since there are hours and hours of Interviews Jay Bulger did that didn't make
it to the movie.

But this movie! Good piece of film making all around.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a must read, August 21, 2011

I haven't even finished this book yet. There are moments you have to take a deep breathe, put it down and come back to it (which I just did). This is not just a rock and roll novel (that too) but a gripping manuscript of a young woman living through some seriously horrible moments. **Right now I gotta say to all the young women out there... don't get in a car with a stranger!!

OK back to the book. Cherie Currie is my new hero.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the purchase price, February 1, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This was a poorly made film for sure however for the low prices being offered
on Amazon and eBay this is a steal. It would be worth $20 for just the one
clip of "Sitting On Top Of The World" ...not to mention "Politician". I'm about
to buy my 3rd copy here. I lent one of em out and haven't seen it since the
other my dog got a hold of and since the disc is in pieces now it probably
won't play to well ;-) The version of Sitting On Top Of The World on this
DVD is absolutely amazing.

1.0 out of 5 stars advise from a true fan of the original Apocalypse Now, October 10, 2009
Folks,

Those of you consider yourselves a true loyal fan of this great epic should first consider buying the documentary, "Hearts of Darkness - A Filmmaker's Apocalypse" (1991). After seeing this epic of a documentary of the making of Apocalypse Now then go out and buy the "second" Apocalypse Now with "Redux" at the end. Francis Ford Coppola clearly states why he made the original the way it is and in particular why he took out the (slow and confusing) French Plantation scene. There is a lot of the French Plantation scene shown in Hearts of Darkness - A Filmmaker's Apocalypse so Redux is really not the first time the scene is shown although you don't see the entire scene in the documentary you aren't missing anything hence the reason Coppola took it out! The addition helicopter/Playboy scene is useless and they didn't even film the entire script of that segment due to the pouring rain.

I just want to message that IMO "Redux" is a rip off. The rabid fans (like me) of Apocalypse Now must see it and own it but know it for what it is... another way to get at your money for little substance in return.

The original version RULES! :)

Thanks for reading,

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnifcient, May 11, 2009
The most beautiful recording I have and one that is indicative of the movie itself (a bold statement!). It is a shame that SIT hasn't received more credit in the history of movie making. It is worth noting that this "re-recording" is a bit better than the first version IMO.

5.0 out of 5 stars WARNING!! (including video), February 22, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Length:: 5:53 Mins

Fair warning to the health care industry! After reading this book I am one less pawn that will be using your services and I'm certain others will follow. This is just too easy. Mr. Esselstyn shows how not only how to lose weight fast but how to lower your cholesterol *fast* in his 28-day program. I lowered my cholesterol from 195 to under 150 in less than 3 weeks then all the way down to 128 by the end of the 4-weeks. I've gotten most of my friends to follow suite with the same results.

One more warning. Don't plan on ever going back to your All-American diet filled with fat and artery clogging crap that will cause your early demise. If you crave donuts, ice cream, fried food (of all varieties), etc this read will show you alternatives that are tastier and more heart-healthy! (I stole "heart-healthy" from Mr. Esselstyn). Your recipe suggestions are fantastic! I can see a whole other book coming with
just recipes :)

This is not a fad thing based on anything new. 20+ years of research went in to this and I can say 100% that this fact is what sold me. I can see no other plan from *any* popular book out there that is based on long term empirical evidence.

Just as important is you just may show your loved ones how to be a more healthy too. If only my Uncle would have read this book so he wouldn't have croaked from a massive heart attack at 47. Looking back on it now I see how preventable that could have been.

I am a convert. Thank you Rip Esselstyn. Why didn't someone write a book like this before? Maybe they did but I haven't seen it. My mom and dad always said to eat my fruits and vegetables. Of course they served up BBQ every Sunday so they didn't get it all correct ;)

1.0 out of 5 stars **Please don't waste your money on this DVD, March 26, 2008
This review is from: Inside Cream 1966-1969 (DVD)
**below review applies to this DVD as well so I'll cut/paste so you know about both**

I am a hard core Cream fan and own all available DVD's, CD's, albums, etc and this is "Cream: Total Rock Review" is one of the worst rip offs out there. FYI another rip off is "Inside Cream 1966-1969". Actually there are interview clips that appear on both DVD's most significant of which is one very lame "critic" implying that Disraeli Gears was not as good as Fresh Cream and a not a good "sophomore effort". Even for the most dedicated Cream fan this is a NO purchase.... same for "Inside Cream 1966-1969". FYI please **do buy** "Cream: Classic Artists (2006)" or "Classic Albums: Cream - Disraeli Gears (2006)" but I'm betting you already have these :)
