My Wet Brush Hair Brush
My Wet Brush Hair Brush
Offered by Mango Six B&M
Price: $9.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great brush for kids and adults with thick curly hair., November 8, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: My Wet Brush Hair Brush (Misc.)
Our daughter was 11 month old at the time of this purchase. She has thick curly hair and it was difficult brushing out knots after baths. Our son's barber told us about the My Wet Brush. It works!

After each bath, we spray a little hair detangler on the back of her head. Then slowly brush her hair going forward to back starting at the front hair line (barely touching her scalp). Repeat the same motion but in smaller segments with the difficult areas (the back where knots form). Don't rush the process. ***Our daughter doesn't scream anymore when brushing her hair since buying this brush.***

Build quality seems solid enough. Expect to pay around $8.50.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Sesame Street toy with the Count but can frustrate some toddlers., August 23, 2011
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My 25 month old boy became a fan of Count Von Count after playing at the Count's Castle (w/ the large water bucket) and 'meeting him' at Sesame Place. Since toys that feature the Count are sort of rare and my son likes that character along with "weyellow" buses, I immediately purchased this toy.

Pros :
- Most children should be like my son and express pure excitement when the toy is first visible.
- Includes another Elmo but this is the 'Back to School' version. Like other figures, he fits into 3 -4 spaces (or seats) in the bus.
- The toy is pretty detailed and nicely colored. As expected, made entirely of plastic but it should hold-up. If anything breaks, it will be the thin door.
- Not having a roof also allows this toy to act as a carrying case for room to room travel.
- The door opens and the Count's heads moves when a button is pressed down (on the hood)
- Has "1234568910" stickers on the sides for children to count.

Cons :
- Some toddlers will get frustrated after learning The Count can not be removed from the bus. Couldn't Hasbro / Playskool design this toy with a removable Count figure along with the door feature?. After a few days of trying, my boy simply tells mom, "Count stuck" with a sad expression.

Summary:
- Kids will play with it and find it fun.
- Can be frustrating to some toddlers (I sampled a friend's son also).
- Fairly priced.
- Not much educational value itself. This shouldn't be a problem when parents play with their children. The wife and I sing "The Wheels on the Bus" with our son while holding this toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Playskool / Hasbro has made a durable Sesame Steet playset., August 14, 2011
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
After spending $40 plus on vintage used / incomplete Fisher Price, Illco, and Playskool sets (with many small pieces) on eBay, Hasbro's Playskool division finally has released the set that I've been looking for.

My 25 month old son just adores Sesame Street but we havent been able to find non-stuffed animal toys for him to play with. He is now at that action figure / create my own playtime phase where each toy has a different role. He probably got to this phase earlier than some by watching Toy Story and playing with his uncle's older 1990s toys at Mom Mom's house. Anyway, let's talk about this toy.

This playset isn't overly hard removing from the package. Scissors are not needed unless you find Cookie Monster difficult removing (he's encased in plastic). Two figures are included : Cookie and Elmo. A stationery Oscar is included (head pops out of the trash can). Other figures (Abby, Grover, Big Bird, Telly, Count, Elmo with Dorothy, Oscar, Burt, and Ernie) are available in 2 packs or with vehicles.

Pros:
- construction and durably seems to be solid. This should hold up pretty well even if your child swings it around or drops it.
- these PVC figures are taller and much thicker than past figures including the recent 40th anniversary ones by Fisher-Price. I like the size as it poses less of a choking hazard than past figures (don't get me wrong, you still need to watch your child play with these toys like any other).
- The street sign / lamp post is included. I do like how it's attached to the left side of Hooper's Store as this piece is the one that's commonly lost with the vintage sets.
- the interiors contain a clean design with well placed stickers and the use of quality plastics.
- the set folders into a carrying case with a handle.

Cons:
- since Big Bird's nest is built into the right side, why wasn't he included as well?
- since this Hasbro Playskool line is still relatively new, finding the school bus, fire engine, garbage truck toys can be hard (if your child likes Grover or Count Von Count, you will need to buy these as they are not sold separately.. Some figures are also hard to find like the Big Bird - Abby pack which is a shame since the nest is pat of the set as previously mentioned.
- the price can be considered high for what you get. Toys-R-Us and Amazon both currently charge nearly $35 while Target is $30. At least the figure 2 packs are reasonable priced at $6 and the vehicles are $10 and each come with a figure.
- not much educational purpose itself unless you incorporate educational games (like colors, story time, numbers, etc...) when both you and your child play this toy.

Summary:
My son enjoys this set so much that I purchased two of them. One is for our house and the other 'lives' at Mom Mom's house. I hope Hasbro continues and expands this line with more additions (e.g. Murray Monster, Zoe) because my boy loves playing 'Sesame Street' with his dad and mom.

Pampers Cruisers Dry Max Diapers, Size 4, 140 Count
Pampers Cruisers Dry Max Diapers, Size 4, 140 Count

1.0 out of 5 stars Well made diaper but beware of the Dry Max technology. It's not for every baby., July 21, 2010
I just submitted a case to the CPSC. Here is what I wrote (actual copy & paste).

On July 2, 2010, I purchased a new box of diapers from Pampers Cruisers (size 4) for my then 12 month old child. This was the 1st time I have ever purchased any Pampers diaper with the "Dry Max" logo on the box. I have been using Pampers branded diapers since my son's birth (7/3/09). Additionally, Destine Creamy has been applied with EVERY diaper change since he was born. My son has NEVER had any sort of diaper rash until July 7th, 2010.

- My infant son began using the diapers on my July 5th (afternoon).
- On the evening of July 7th, my son's buttocks began turning a light pinkish color. We kept using Destine Creamy.
- On July 8th, his rash turned dark pink and smooth. There were no bumps on the skin usually associated with diaper rash. We began using Triple Paste cream. My wife is a doctor and stated the rash LOOKED and FELT LIKE A CHEMICAL BURN.
- From July 8th to 9th, there was no change with the rash. On the afternoon of July 9th, I found 2 online articles about parents complaining about the new "Dry Max" technology on these diapers. 1 of these articles stated that some parents switched to non-Dry Max diapers and saw rash improvements.
- On the evening of July 9th, I purchased a box of Pampers Cruisers with the "Baby Dry" logo. There was no "Dry Max" logo on this box. I stopped using the Dry Max diapers. With each diaper change, Triple Paste was still applied.
- His rash finally starting improving on July 10th. By July 13th, his CHEMICAL BURN-LIKE rash was 100% gone.
- My son has not had a rash since.

Note: I contacted Pampers Customer Support on July 14th and reported this problem.

Price Pfister 53P50SS Genesis Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Pull-Down Spout Sprayer and Soap Dispenser, Stainless Steel
Price Pfister 53P50SS Genesis Single-Handle Kitchen Faucet with Pull-Down Spout Sprayer and Soap Dispenser, Stainless Steel

4.0 out of 5 stars Great design & functionality after an internal design change to fix a defect., July 18, 2010
i purchased the 53p50ss in the summer of 2007 from local store. i like the looped handle design along with the pull-out handle and separate soap dispenser.

after nearly 3 years, i began experiencing the faucet shutting itself as many others have reported on amazon. i called price pfister last week and was told this "...was a common problem. in 2009, the ceramic disc cartridge was redesigned for two reasons : 1.) some California law and 2.) to combat the automatically shutting off problem". redesign part # is s74-570.

i received the replacement parts today and installed it. note: they also included a new brass retainer nut (part # 941-7110). both parts were emailed to me free of charge with simple instructions on the boxes.

now everything works as intended after the easy 5 minute repair. in 6 months, i'll post an update whether the repair is holding up.

note: the soap dispenser unit was made before ultra-concentrated liquid dish / hand soap became so popular. just add a tad of water to each dispenser refill to avoid it getting clogged.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent wall remote for fan., December 31, 2009
I purchased the Harbor Breeze branded remote from Lowes (same exact product). It seems that Litex makes Habor Breeze products for this Lowes only brand.

Two items come in the package; the in-wall mounted remote and the internal module which attaches to 2 or 3 wires to the ceiling fan (and stays inside the fan's base).

The wall remote is excellent quality. 3 gray buttons for fan speed, 1 light green glow in the dark round button for turning on/off the fan lights (note: hold round button for dimming), and 1 on\off switch which acts as a master power switch. A small round indicator light (red) illuminates when any of the 4 buttons are pressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great formula container, July 22, 2009
We currently use this as a baby formula container. It has 3 compartments which can each hold 8 oz of powder-based formula or snacks. The inclined funnel-like opening makes this container far better than most. This type of opening allows formula powder to be easily poured into any baby bottle.

4.0 out of 5 stars if you want affordable power on the go, this product is good despite flaws, May 23, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased the Targus 100 Watt Slim Line Mobile Inverter for international business travel. I was tired of carrying two laptop batteries for 7-9 hr flights.

The product works as designed and is pretty small compared to other similar devices. It can power up to two devices at one time (1 USB and 1 US-based female input). What more can you ask for at only $45ish dollars?

Some constraints:
1. the fan is very loud. on an airplane, people won't really notice since the cabin is loud anyway. the fan is loud in the car unless people converse loudly.
2. the device does give off an odd smell.
3. when using a powerful laptop and depending on the airplane yr, make, model, etc..., you might have to remove its battery. if you don't, the power source (at least on the airbus 330) will cut off every 5 secs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Philips VOIP1511B Skype travel phone is good..., May 23, 2009
The Philips VOIP1511B Skype travel phone is good. Install was easy. Just follow the directions. The phone and its software works well with even the most recent version of Skype. Call quality was good from both ends of the conversation.

The phone itself is decent. It looks and feels like a mid-1990s mobile / cell phone if you like that retro look. I really like how the USB cable folds to be hidden and the included carrying case is of quality.

For $20-$25, it's a good deal.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's really cheap quality but works, December 11, 2008
Just bought this at Lowes last night for Christmas blinking items the wife wants in the window. It was the only model in stock.

In summary, the debvice setup is backwards and it's cheaply built but it works.

Pet peeves: You have to use a finger tip and pull all the 30 min indicators / intervals forward (toward you). By default, all the 30 min intervals come pressed down. It should be the opposite.

It's built w/ very cheap plastic.

The time / clock lettering is hard to read especially when programming.

I would recommend spending the extra dollar or two to buy a better model.
