4.0 out of 5 stars Great Pics, Lukewarm Content, December 11, 2010
The pics in this book look great and are worth the buy. The content, however, are nothing new you haven't learned yet if you have followed Justin for the past year, particularly if you read Bop, TigerBeat, PopStar, J14, and Twist on a monthly basis. Be forewarned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Donald's Best Book, December 11, 2010
This review is from: The America We Deserve (Hardcover)
I have read ALL of Donald's Books, but this book seems to predict the future. Things such as another attack happening to the US, Anthrax and talking about the exploitative nature of the US by other countries. A must read for anyone who cares about the country.

3.0 out of 5 stars Huge dissapointment, August 19, 2010
I have read EVERY Clique book.. and I came into this book with high hopes. This book dissapoints in two ways.
1. Factual inaccuracies. Like Massie didn't have a IPhone until later in the series. She had a Palm Pilot and got a IPhone later. The first Clique was published in 2004 and the IPhone didn't come out until 2007. Are we turning back time here or what?
2. This is the BIG ONE. The Twilight series has the majority of the book in color. This one has a few pages in color and then the rest in B&W. That is the sinker for me. The few color pages up front are beautiful. The rest- not so much. How do you waste graphics like that in B&W.

Try again and make it all in color, please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Will Learn something even if you are a hardcore fan!, August 17, 2010

The pictures make the book worth it by itself... Great background info. Talks about her start in the industry and her childhood. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Starter I Pod, January 16, 2010
I got this as a Christmas gift from my Dad and I feel compelled to review it after several weeks of use.

Pros- The sound quality is excellent compared to music on a cell phone or anywhere else. The controls are easy to navigate when you are exercising and are low maintenance. Battery life has not been a huge issue.

Cons- The headphones fall out with moderate exercise, particularly in the left ear. The lack of features (no video or screen) is a huge drawback. Apple headphones can hurt with extended use.

Overall- A good I Pod for light to moderate exercise or people just looking for music without the features. Will probably get a Touch or Nano in March but this Shuffle definitely has it's place.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sets the tone for Dominance in Green Bay, January 16, 2010
The setting of this book is 1959. The Green Bay Packers have struggled under several coaches, the latest being Scooter McLean. Lombardi is hired to turn around the losing culture in Green Bay. As most football historians know, the 1959 season set the tone for the dominance in the 1960s. Also discussed early Packer history, which should be a plus to Packer fans and does a good job with Lombardi, Hourning's , and Starr's backgrounds in particular. Not the first Lombardi book I would read but recommended.

Recommended for Lombardi and 60s Packer fans-
When Pride Still Mattered- David Maraniss
Instant Replay- Jerry Kramer
Vince- Michael O Brien
Ice Bowl- Ed Gruver

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, But Becoming Outdated, January 16, 2010
For people looking for a brief, concise review of their prescription drugs, this book is an excellent resource to go to. Discusses indications, usual dosages, and side effects. Also has a Pill Identification guide for quick identification of medication.

Also Recommended: The Pill Book 15th edition http://www.amazon.com/The-Pill-Book-15th-Edition/dp/0553593560/ref=pd_sim_b_3

UPDATE: Jan 2012- This Book is quickly becoming outdated. PDR Should release a new one. The Pill Book comes out in April. Wait for that or get a nursing book instead. Shouldn't be the first option. The internet is also available for drugs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fix for the Off-Season, January 1, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Bill James Handbook has been around for a while and diehard baseball fans like me, this is the offseason cure for my addition. Now about this book:

* The Annual Fielding Bible Awards
* Stats include Runs Created and adjusted ERA (Component ERA)- These stats alone make the book worth buying).
* Updated Ball Park Indexes
* Another Big Plus- Manager Stats
* New This Year- Pinch Hitting Analysis
* New This Year- Instant Replay History
* Projections- If you buy the book, you can go online and get updated ones in spring training. Take the ones in the book with a serious grain of salt since this book was published on November 1st.

Summary- A must buy for a true baseball fan. Also recommended- Baseball Forecaster by Ron Shandler, Baseball Prospectus

4.0 out of 5 stars Great in some aspects, lukewarm in others, November 30, 2009
This book talked about Brett Favre's 2008 with the Jets (which didn't go so well for him).

Pluses- The buildup to the trade was top notch and had plenty of quotes from insiders. Also talked about his injury to an extent and how it limited him.

Negatives- Didn't really discuss game plans week by week and was more a narrative of the game. Also underdiscusses Mangini getting canned. The author missed the point about saying Favre needed to quit (like many other critics).

Overall- If you are a hardcore Favre fan, read it for the insight on last year. If you are a casual fan, pass. Favre's legacy continues on this year with an MVP year in Minnesota. A ultimate Favre bio is due when he FINALLY decides to retire.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a read, but not riveting, November 30, 2009
Going rogue will give you SPs 2 cents of her life in Alaska and with Senator McCain.

What I Liked- Her talking about her kids and her talking about her young adult struggles just like everyone else. I think at the core, Sarah is a person just like all of us even if the left media doesn't want us to believe it. Also, her view of the McCain campaign was good reading.

Negatives- A little long for the the same right wing spin.

Overall- Worth a read, but defintely doesn't convince you she is presidental material.
