5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, Inexpensive Home Alarm System, April 12, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Excellent alarms, quick and easy to install. Just remove the plastic tab from the battery compartment, peel the double-sided adhesive tape and attach it to the alarm and the magnet, then peel the other side of the tape off and attach it to the door or window. Turn the alarm on using a switch inside the battery compartment and you're set! It can also be changed to chime like a door bell or simply turned off.

The sound is very loud so it will definitely deter most would-be thieves. It takes 4 of the watch-type batteries (2032) and they're easy to replace, simply remove the front bottom cover and swap them out. Great product for a little piece of mind.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Dog Food, April 12, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I tried this dog food on a few of my dogs and they all liked it. A few of them had some issues with flatulence though after eating it and since it's high in calories they put on several pounds pretty quickly, so something to keep in mind if you have a dog that's on a strict diet. Not all of them had flatulence after eating this, so this will depend on your dog.

I wouldn't recommend it for all dogs but if you have a dog that needs a lot of protein and calories to bulk up, then this might be the right fit for you. For your average dog however, this may be a bit too specialized. An added bonus is that it's grain free, which is better than most of the common grocery store dog foods.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Top Quality Mattress, April 12, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Classic Brands Engage 11-inch hybrid cool gel memory foam and innerspring mattress is very comfortable and made of top quality materials. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I've slept quite well on it.

One major benefit is that it's quite light weight so it's easy to move around, unlike the older style mattresses that weighed a ton and required a couple of people to life and move.

There's only one downside that I found and that is it has a tendency to sink down and stay that way in certain spots if you sit or put too much pressure on a spot for too long, so be careful of that. The depression in the mattress will eventually pop back out but it will take time, so this may be an issue over time.

All things considered, this is a great mattress and quite comfortable to sleep on, not to mention it can be had for a very reasonable price.

3.0 out of 5 stars Shiny and Remarkable Graphics But Ultimately An Unsatisfying Experience, April 12, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Assassin's Creed Unity is a decent game but nothing ground breaking or all that captivating about it. Graphically it's beautiful, the resolution, architecture, textures, models and scope are very impressive and those elements by themselves deserve 5 stars. Unfortunately the story is quite generic and doesn't really draw the gamer into that world. From a historical standpoint, semi-fictional as it is, it's fairly intriguing since you get to look at the French revolution first hand so for those who are interested in that, this game might be for you. However, for more hardcore fans of action and adventure, I think you'll have to look elsewhere since it feels like a very nicely made demo, as in this showcases what the PS4 is capable of. The towns of 18th century France are amazingly re-created and are spectacular to behold but that's about where my interests end.

The gameplay mechanics are at their best when you're running, climbing and jumping from rooftop to rooftop, but the combat feels stilted and without characters to really care about, the game seems pointless. The Assassin's creed concept started off quite well and it's a high-brow idea with the manipulation of genetic memory (the back-story of these games), but over time this has descended into trivialities and discontinuity. Apparently this game had many bugs when it first came out although by the time I got it and began playing, those bugs have been fixed with major patches, so at this point it's safe to play and enjoy without any serious errors, at least in my experience of many hours.

I'd much prefer it if they took the engine and moved it into a different game with a better, more cohesive and solid story, that'd make me inclined to buy their games more so than just churning out as many of these gorgeous but essentially empty vessels.

Solid quality, looks exactly like it's pictured. Came in the box without any damage. Doesn't need the included stand since the figure supports itself with its hands and feet. Hands, arms, head, torso and legs all articulate 360 degrees without a problem. If you're a fan of the film you'll like this figure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Blood Pressure Monitor, January 16, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The QardioArm Wireless Blood Pressure Monitor is an easy to use and accurate blood pressure monitor. I no longer have an iPhone, upgraded to a Droid smart phone, so I can only review it for that. I have the Droid Maxx by Motorola and with the QardioArm app found in the Google Play Store, this unit quickly assesses your stats and gives you your systolic and diastolic readings along with your pulse.

What I like about the wireless unit is that it doesn't cinch super tight like many others do which makes this much more comfortable to use.

To use it you have to sync it via your smart phone's Bluetooth and you do this by pressing and releasing the wireless unit while doing a Bluetooth device search on your phone. Once synced, they'll stay synced until you turn your Bluetooth off. Slap the wireless unit's belt around your arm, latch it via the velcro, then click Start and wait for it to finish.

It comes with an account login so you simply sign up with your e-mail address and password, which will keep track of your daily readings and you can use these stats to send to your doctor if you so wish. I like that it keeps track of your stats on the QardioArm app so you can monitor your health, for better or worse, but at least you'll know what your health status is. It will even detect a heart beat anomaly which is pretty impressive.

Very easy to use and accurate, I can't ask for much more. A big improvement over the old style which has a wire, no fuss with this one, highly recommended!

Scharffen Berger Chocolate Bar, Velvet Dark Chocolate (72% Cacao), 3-Ounce Bars (Pack of 4)
Scharffen Berger Chocolate Bar, Velvet Dark Chocolate (72% Cacao), 3-Ounce Bars (Pack of 4)

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Excellent Chocolate, January 16, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Extremely good quality chocolate. There's no noticeable emulsifier to speak of (such as wax), something which is all too common in American chocolate bars, so that's a considerably positive attribute. The cocoa is smooth without any distractions like preservatives or additives, it tastes the way chocolate bars should, unadulterated. Having grown up in Europe, this easily compares to the finest chocolates found there, which is saying a great deal since they're known for being the best chocolatiers. If I were to compare it to a particular kind of chocolate, I'd say it's kind of like baking/cooking chocolate, but that's due to its high cocoa content, and this is comparing it to European cooking chocolate, not the American kind which is quite different.

If you're a chocolate aficionado like myself then you can't go wrong with this Scharffen Berger Chocolate Bar, exquisite quality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Router With A Couple of Quirks, January 16, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Linksys N750 Wi-Fi Wireless Dual-Band+ Router is a very good quality router. I haven't had any problems with it going down or broadcasting its signal.

It's relatively easy to set up, looks great (antennas are hidden) and has many features for those who want get more in-depth in terms of configuring a home network.

What I don't like about it is that its administration is available through a website. It's a new system that they're trying out for smart phone app integration so you can remotely control it via your Droid, iPhone or Windows phone, but that makes it a bigger security threat and its interface is counter-intuitive.

You can still log in via the router's gateway address but having the Internet site version as well makes it vulnerable to hackers.

I really dislike the admin interface, many sections such as MAC address reservations are hidden in an unusual "troubleshooting" sub-menu which is quite hard to find and it isn't where you'd think it'd be, along with many other common features that are hidden in similarly strange places. The old Linksys router admin menus are far easier to use and find features.

That being said, once you have it figured out and it's up and running, it works great, but I have to remove a star for its less than user friendly interface and hard to find options. It's kind of like the way Microsoft changed the way Office 2003 changed in the 2007 version or how Windows 8 changed everything from previous OS, you're forced to learn all the new menus and locations, which just makes things unnecessarily more complicated without any practical improvements. I'm a firm believer in the old saying "if it aint broke, don't fix it" and this is a classic example.

There's a guest network feature too that I like, for those who want to set up a separate wi-fi network and you can even password protect it.

Another feature I like is that it automatically finds what devices are on your network and shows them as a TV, a Playstation 3 and it has pictures that represent each item, like your smart phone, web camera, etc.

Parents will like the parental controls that can lock access to specific devices for a specific time period but also to specific sites. This is especially helpful for those who have teenagers.

This router has dual bands which broadcast at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, so depending on the signal strength, one might work better than the other, which will differ from home to home, which gives users the option of picking a signal that works best in certain rooms.

You can share media files off an external hard drive or flash drive by simply plugging it into the router then setting up the share, so it functions as a media center or NAS (network accessed storage) and those by themselves can cost in the several hundred $ range.

There's even a QoS (Quality of Service) feature which allows you to prioritize which service should get the fastest speeds, such as Netflix vs. gaming, or Internet vs. e-mail, etc.

Many more features exist but the aforementioned are the most important ones. Overall I like the router, look and quality-wise, I just wish they would've kept the old menu system and not included the cloud-based admin control that opens up new security vulnerabilities. All things considered, if you're not too concerned about security, this will serve your needs well, just be prepared for a learning curve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Bathroom Scale Yet!, January 16, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The smart weigh body fat digital precision scale works extremely well. It's very accurate giving you incremental changes to your weight in tenths. If I was less or more by just 1/10 lbs., it shows. I compared this to an analog scale and it's right around the same weight, but obviously more accurate since it shows tenths of a lbs.

After several weigh-ins, it auto-calculates your body fat %, muscle %, bone %, water % and bone %, quite ingenious and if you were ever curious about these specs, now you'll know, no need for a caliper or a trip to your doctor. Granted these measurements are rough estimates, calipers and water displacement sessions will be the most accurate, but good enough for getting a fairly accurate assessment.

The materials are of very good quality, nice, shiny and solid metal + glass are very strong and won't break by simply stepping on it, so this will outlast anyone using it.

What I really like is that there's no on/off switch so it'll work as long as the batteries have a charge. Also, unlike many digital weights, you don't have to step on and off several times to re-calibrate it, it's already calibrated so it will give you accurate measurements every time.

Very affordable and it's a complementary design to any bathroom, highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wi-Fi Routers Don't Get Much Better Than This, December 25, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The TP-Link TL-WR842ND N300 is a top notch little Wi-Fi router. Easy to install and with minimal configuration you're up and running. I tried it with my PS3, PS4, Wii, smart TV, laptop, smart phone (Droid), tower PC and it works flawlessly across all devices! No loss of signal at all and it goes through all my walls quite easily. It has a really small footprint which is convenient for those trying to save space or don't have much room. I also like the white design which is nice because it adds a little variety to all the black routers out there and dust doesn't show up so well on it as it does on black ones. Even though it is designed for newer equipment, it's still backwards compatible with older devices like the PS3 and Wii.

Easiest way for those that aren't tech savvy is to use the little CD that comes with it, although it is the small form factor so be sure your DVD drive is a tray loader instead of a slot loader since slot loaders don't support mini-discs (it's about half the size of a regular CD). Run the setup and follow the instructions step by step. Plug one network cable from your cable, DSL or satellite modem into the network port labeled "Internet" on the back of the TP-Link, then plug a separate network cable into one of the numbered ports and plug the other end into the back of your desktop/tower PC's network port. This gives you a direct connection so you can configure it from your PC by either using the CD or your Internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Opera) by typing in the default gateway IP address into your browser's address bar, then pressing enter.

It has a USB port so you can plug in a thumb drive or external hard drive and use it as a media server, aka NAS (Network Accessed Storage), which many people pay several hundred $ for but with this convenient feature you'll have one for a fraction of the price. To access this feature, just follow the steps in the aforementioned paragraph.

There's also a VPN feature which allows you to remotely access your router from anywhere in the world that has a PC and an Internet connection, but it's only for the highly experienced tech users, I do not recommend this for novices. That being said, it is a neat feature for those who want to make their home network available from the web. I haven't used this feature and don't have a need for it but it's nice to have in case I do decide on setting it up at some point.

This is my 3rd TP-Link Wi-Fi router within the past couple of years and they all work great still to this day. With my older Linksys I had to frequently reboot it to regain the Wi-Fi signal but with TP-Link routers I've only had to do it maybe once. They don't run hot, they just do what they're designed for and that's all I expect. Amazing price and better than most of their counterparts, this is a serious contender to the Wi-Fi router throne.
