Safety 1st Top-of-Mattress Bed Rail, Cream
Safety 1st Top-of-Mattress Bed Rail, Cream
Price: $24.48
15 used & new from $17.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Attach and Stays in Place, October 28, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This bed rail clamps down fimrly on any mattress 4 to 10 inches thick and doesn't budge. It is wide enough to provide a safe barrier between your child and a potential trip to the hospital. It is not so stylish, but few bed rails are. If you have a mattress that is not 4-10 inches thick then you should look for a bed rail with ropes that run under the bed and anchor onto the opposite side of the mattress and box spring. Otherwise, I would suggest this bed rail as it is easier to put on/take off and stays in place better.

Note that this is one bed rail. If your child's bed does not have a wall along one side, you will want to order two of these.

Also, if your bed frame rises up near or over the bottom of the matterss, it might make this product difficult or impossible to use or require a (taller) box spring.

Perfect Fitness Ab Carver Sport

4.0 out of 5 stars Tricky at first, but effectively targets abs, October 27, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Perfect Fitness Ab Carver Sport is a plastic wheel with rubbery handles and outer wheel edges that you can use to exercise your abdominal muscles. The way it works is very simple: you get down on all fours and you grip the handles firmly while you roll the Ab Carver Sport back and forth. The more you work out, the farther forward you will be able to comfortably extend.

I had a similar device over a decade ago and it was a bit different - the wheel was wider and a spring was added between the handles and the wheel. The more narrow wheel of the Ab Carver Sport makes it a bit more difficult to use but also helps you incorporate more stabilizer muscles. However, I really do miss the spring, which was adjustable and made it practicable to go through the whole range of motion from the beginning and gradually wean yourself off the assistance. On the plus side, the Ab Carver Sport uses a decent amount of metal and I doubt it will break after a few months like my previous device.

Like the device I had before, the Ab Carver Sport does seem to work effectively at exercising my abdominal muscles. It is a bit of challenge at first if you are not the most in shape, but like most exercises, it gets easier after a relatively brief time. Make sure not to strain your muscles with poor form, especially when you first start using it.

Great set of bits with a little bit of everything. Bits don't wear down easily and are easy to use with the included tiny bit holder. Compact, high quality set that should work for most jobs.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great primer for the novice bowler, October 20, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I have always loved bowling and had some decent games, but never learned proper technique / using spin. 'Bowling Fundamentals' starts off with a gentle introduction and gradually increases in depth and breadth. I found the explanations detailed, easy to understand and well-organized. The pictures helped a lot, but I wish there had been even more. On my last trip (first in a while) to the bowling alley, I was able to apply some of the content from the earlier chapters and I was surprised how well I did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Ingredients and Taste, Poor Consistency, October 18, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
These bars are packed with protein and make a filling but tasty snack for those on a high-protein diet. Like most protein bars, the consistency is a bit dry, grainy and chalky. The bar is coated in a thin layer of chocolatey-ness but otherwise the mint dominates. For the quality of ingredients and flavor, this is a great protein bar. However, the consistency is a bit off-putting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warms those cockles, October 14, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I have to confess that I didn't order this book intentionally, I think my kids were playing with the computer. However, it was a blessing in disguise. This is a beautifully assembled father/son story that warms the cockles of my heart. The pace is a bit slow overall, but never manages to approach the frustration I feel when I actually attempt to golf. Do yourself a favor and read the Bio on this page for the author. If you like that, you'll like this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magic + Money = Murdered Unicorns, October 13, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I found the subject of this book fascinating. The author works at a consulting company that helps bring new products to market. The firm attempts to analyze and project the value and best uses for proprietary innovations. At the foundation to their methodology is a dichotomy of "magic" and "money." The magic side is supposedly staffed by creative geniuses and the money side by financially astute geniuses. Together, the money and magic sides are able to distinguish between the problems a new innovation could solve and the problems a new innovation could profitably solve. Afterall, everyone loves unicorns and thinks they are so cool, but unicorns went extinct for a reason, right? The author might have explained the title a bit differently, but you get the gist.

While the author does provide ample room for discussion of some cases in poin, I wish the case studies were a good deal more detailed. Where are the technical details on how the money side analyzes which applications are likely to be the most profitable? The examples given by the author tend to have a lot of fluff and only one or two applications are really discussed at all per case. Obviously the firm goes into great depth and breadth with their work and it would have beefed up the content admirably to have had access to more than just the tip of the iceberg. Also, they author could have included how products they have helped launch met with success or failure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extra comfy and extra affordable, October 13, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I used to have a Tempur-Pedic memory foam pillow years ago that I didn't like because of the weird wave shape. It was okay if you always slept on your back, but awful otherwise. I couldn't get used to sleeping on my back so I switched to a buckwheat pillow, which I love. It allows a lot of air flow and keeps cool easiliy, but it is very heavy and hard to take with me places. This memory foam pillow addresses the problems with my old (and much, much more expensive) memory foam pilow by adding a cool gel layer on one side and having a regular, uniform shape. It is a comfortable and cool pillow that I will be taking with me whenever I sleep over at a relative's house. My only complaint is that it smelled bad enough that I had to air it out for a few days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid performance, October 13, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Klipsch KF-26 Icon speakers are competent fronts with good clarity and a mostly flat response. I would recommend them for someone building a 2.1 system around $1k up to a 5.1 system around $2.5k. I hooked them up with a 15" sub from the now defunct Epik and a mid-range Denon (2310 Cl) receiver. They produced a very dynamic and expressive sound quality without distortion. They lacked a little bit of the warmth and depth of higher-end speakers I have used, but that is mostly noticeable in music. I would expect them to perform well with the matched KF-25 center and KS-14 surround speakers. If you don't get a decent sub sized for your room you might be disappointed by the low end. The KF-28 fronts offer 8 inch vs. 6 1/2 inch speakers for a small premium. If you have a larger room, you should check them out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for 2-3 years old, October 13, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a cute toy that looks great and is sure to entice 2 year olds. My 2 year old was very excited to try it out with all the different combinations of lenses and plates. The lenses come in 3 varieties - a magnifying glass, a transparency to change colors, and a multi-faceted lens like a kaleidoscope. The plates have small creatures or patters and colors. Overall, it's a great toy that is a little educational. One flaw is that the magnifying lens is very out of focus when assembled and there is no adjustment you can make. You can hold the magnifying lens to use it, but it's a little disappointing. It would also be nice if it was easier to store without putting it in a box. There is a space for two plates on the bottom of the microscope, but no space for the 2 lenses you are not using. Also, note that the large green dial does spin, but does not actually do anything. It makes a great gift as it is affordable, constructive, different and looks nice, but I don't know how much use we'll get out of it.
