5.0 out of 5 stars NOT MACHINE WASHABLE!, February 26, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This timer works great. Strong magnet on the back. Easy to operate. Loud. Small. Clean design. Durable.

Helpful hint: I put my finger over the little "speaker" on the back so other people don't have to hear the beeps when I'm setting it.

I am giving this product a 5 star rating despite one major flaw - I left my timer in my shirt pocket and ran it through the washer with the other clothes. The front loading washer did it's damage. NOW MY TIMER DOES NOT WORK! What a gip!

(I'm kidding. My timer did get destroyed in the washer, but now I'm reordering. That says it all. It's a good timer.)

1.0 out of 5 stars PROBLEM WITH TWO MACHINES, December 31, 2014
I bought two of these units in June 2014. I own one unit and the other was a gift to a friend. They each, probably, get played for a few hours every day. There was no all-day/office play of the machines.

Now both are starting to foul up. Both started getting "choosy" about the CDs that they will play about a month ago. You put the disc in the machine and there is no indication that a disc is present. You take the disc out, turn it around and try again. Nada. You clean the disc and try again. Nada x 2. Turn it off/turn it back on = nada x 3.

Now my machine is taking a disc in and not recognizing the disc and won't eject the disc. I took the cover off of my machine and was able to reach inside and get the disc out. I left the cover off and tried discs. Now just about every disc is getting stuck in there.

Since the "choosy" part is happening to both machines, I think the malfunction is a problem across the board.

Since I took the cover off of my machine (and I don't want to go through the crap to reassemble and got through the crap to deal with Yamaha), I'm just going to write off the machine and move on to buying another unit. I might try to send the other unit back to Yamaha if the problem gets a lot worse.

Too bad. This seemed like a very cool little machine, and I got a good price at since the unit is a discontinued model. I probably won't show up as a certified buyer because the machines I bought were a different color than the machine listed here.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRAVISSIMO, RENATO!, August 2, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Made in Italy (Audio CD)
This guy reminds me of Louis Prima. Way cool fun music in that style.

I see reviews of other records by this man that say that the sound quality is bad; the sound quality on this one is pretty good.

There's 12 songs. There's another "Made In Italy" by this guy that has more songs on it.

I think this album might be a greatest hits collection. Mambo Italiano is one of the songs here. I don't know if Rosemary Clooney copied this guy for that song or the other way around. Who cares? I like both versions.

I listened to this record about 4 times in two days - that's a good review.

Some of the songs have quirky, novelty arrangements that dazzled me. I was singing along even though I don't speak Italian.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT SATISFACTORY, June 22, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this thing to clip my nose hair and ear hair (that I can't see). It doesn't do a very good job of trimming the hair, so I have to take a long time to get the job done by going back over and over my nose and ears.

I previously owned two of the MANGROOMER Essential Nose and Ear Hair TrimmersMANGROOMER Essential Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer, and they worked OK, but I thought I'd give this Panasonic a try. I'm going to buy the Mangroomer again. It works better than the Panasonic.

I think that a lot of these trimmers are manufactured by the same maker, but even if the Mangroomer has the same maker as the Panasonic, the Mangroomer worked better.

Some advice: If you don't use a trimmer for wet hair, I advise keeping the machine in a plastic zip lock bag Ziploc Storage Bag, Gallon Value Pack, 40-Count(Pack of 3)when it's not in use. I did this with my second Mangroomer, and it worked longer than the first Mangroomer.

I only use a trimmer about every month or so when I feel the nose hair brush my cheeks in a strong wind and the ear hair makes it hard for me to hear the TV. My experience is that these trimmers only last a few months no matter how you store them or how often you use them, so don't count on leaving your trimmer in your will to anybody.

1.0 out of 5 stars ECSTATIC NOT, March 16, 2014

This review is from: Doubts & Convictions (Audio CD)
I had high hopes for this album, but in the end, it is not to my tastes. I had thought the music would be similar to that of the Byrne and Eno album My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts, but this was not to be.

I don't care for what I classify as "rave" or "trance" music, and that is what this music is. That type of music features that "giddy-up go" high hat rave drum beat, over and over again ad nauseam. Each song in this album starts with a bit of spoken word, "found footage" type audio which lead me to believe that something inventive was going to happen, but each song immediately descended into the repetitive beat that appeals to imbibers of ecstasy or those who prefer clinical musical wall paper playing in the back ground of their lofts or where they shop at the mall.

If there was anything happening more than glacially gradual changes in monochromatic music, it was too subtle for me. The spoken word sound clips were interesting, but the novelty of that effect has been done so much, you got to have more than that. Doubts and Convictions doesn't have more.

I detest "rave", "trance" music, so you should take this review with that big grain of salt.

I'm a big Stan Ridgway fan, but this album is not very good.

The music is mostly OK, but there is a lot of studio chatter and inane spoken words at the end of most songs. A lot of it, lengthy too. Very irritating, self indulgent and presumptuous. Amateurish disregard for the listener.

In addition, there's a long, mostly spoken word hidden track after the last real song on the disc. Something about George Bush. I couldn't listen to it all the way through. Real cute.

It's particularly irritating when a person downloads the songs and the songs are heard, singly, out of the context of the album. You get to the end of a song, and you have to listen to audio selfies, and none of them entertaining to anybody who wasn't there.

This album is for Stan Ridgway completists only. The loco-weed disease of the plains Sounds like they were burning loco weed in the barbeque.

4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD SOUND/BLINDING BLUE LIGHT, November 19, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am not an audiophile, but these speakers sound pretty good to me. They sounded horrible when I first got them. Very tinny. Then I used the iTunes Equalizer "Bass Reducer" setting and the sound is fine now. I didn't exactly like doing that, but I'm satisfied with the sound now. Don't get the idea that I don't care very much about sound quality. I do care, and music sounds great even at high volume with these speakers.

I noted that one other reviewer remarked about the brightness of the blue "on" light. These speakers have the brightest, most penetrating blue light of any gizmo I've ever seen. I'm using the speakers for computer speakers that are very close to my screen, and, holy moly, this light was about to blind me. I just now put a couple of color coding labels over the light, and it's still too bright. It's like a derned laser!

Over the years, I've gotten tired of everything electronic being black in color. When amps and everything hit the mainstream decades ago, black made the machines look cool and efficient. Now black is just dull to me. I like the wood grain finish of these speakers. Thanks for something different looking, Genius.

Note that these speakers have a 3.5mm jack input which works fine for my iMac. They do not connect via a USB cable. I use a splitter on the back of the speakers with one line going to the speakers and the other to my headphones. I can turn off the speaker and still listen to through the headphones.

In the end, I like the sound and look of these speakers. I do not like the blinding blue light of the on light. I think I'm going to paint over that once I have the speakers past the 30 day return period.

4.0 out of 5 stars PRINTED LOGO ON SLEEVE, October 31, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have a suit jacket that is worn buttoned up all the way to the neck and without a visible shirt/tie underneath. I wanted a round-necked light weight shirt to wear with the suit. A short sleeve shirt, regardless of the fabric, would look like I was wearing a tee shirt. The tee shirt worn with a suit or sport coat is a look I avoid. The only person who has successfully assumed that look was Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) on Miami Vice. Everyone else that attempts the tee shirt + a suit coat looks like they showed up at a classy restaurant wearing a Led Zeppelin tee shirt and the matre'd made them put on a restaurant-provided sport coat. Or their mom told them, "Put on a jacket. This is a nice place we're going to." "Awww, Mom . . "

As an aside, let me say that the stubble beard look worked for Sonny Crockett in Miami in the 80s. On 99.99% of men, it looks like they simply need to shave. When the stubble is paired with a suit coat/button shirt, the dude looks like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the ex-president of IranMahmoud Ahmadinejad Funny Toilet Paper Set of 2 Just because Brad Pitt Brad Pitt 2014 Wall Calendar wears the look doesn't mean it's going to work for the rest of us. Unless you are Brad reading this, you aren't Brad Pitt and you don't look like Brad Pitt. The stubble/tieless look is the schlub look. (schlub: Unkempt in appearance, either due to lack of effort or lack of awareness. The opposite of metrosexual. From the Urban Dictionary). From Schlub to Stud: How to Embrace Your Inner Mensch and Conquer the Big City

OK. OK, I'll get to the point. This shirt has a Russell logo fused into the material on the left wrist area. It's about 1 1/2" x 3/4". I don't buy clothing with logos. Well, maybe if I got a good price on an Izod "alligator shirt" at the Goodwill. IZOD Men's Short Sleeve Basic Heritage Pique Polo. I'll leave log tee shirts to Beevis and Butthead. Fifth Sun Men's Beavis And Butthead Rock Forever Tee If I'm stylin' in my cool black suit drinking an adult beverage at a white table cloth restaurant, I don't want to look like I just came from my job at 24 Hour Nautilus.

That being said, the shirt does not fill the need I had originally intended, but it is a very comfortable and good looking shirt. I like it a lot, and will keep it for casual wear. The Russell logo is not flashy or very intrusive. I recommend the shirt. 4 stars.

As other reviewers have recommended: BUY A SIZE SMALLER than you ordinarily take. I usually take an XXL, but the XL is a good fit for me. It's not a slim fit shirt, but it's not baggy.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONLY 1 SEASON BUT PLOT MOSTLY RESOLVED, September 13, 2013

A terrific political intrigue/detective series. I was reticient to view it because only1 season was available, but that's all the series ran. Great cast, good direction and excellent writing. It's worth your time. It's one of those gems that the networks don't renew. With only one year in the can, these gems don't go into sindication, so you don't hear about them.

Another excellent series in this category is "Philly." I note reviews of the series were mixed. I liked it a lot.

4.0 out of 5 stars GROOVY SHIRT BUT IT RUNS SMALL, September 5, 2013
This is cool shirt but it runs a size small. I'm an XXL and the XXL size of this shirt is really an XL.

It's a bit paler blue than the photo, but I liked it. The seersucker material is sporty and comfortable.

I'd order a size larger than you usually wear unless you're one of those au courant guys who wears your clothes in a Pee Wee Herman sizing. Adult Pee Wee Herman Costume I tried that mode but the tight clothes made me talk kind squeaky and nasally like Pee Wee.

I'm only sorry that they don't have it in an XXXL. I'm more of a Oscar Madison kind of fashion plate. The Odd Couple
