5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read, September 6, 2011
This book was one of the best YA novels that I have read in a long time (librarian so I read a lot of them) very complex premise with the alien world but well done. Lots of characters and concepts but they are fit so well into this story that you don't feel lost or overwhelmed. Highly recommend for YA readers (no matter what their age is) Should appeal to both sf and fantasy readers. Cass is a "real" character with a positive outlook on life. I am looking forward to the next installment of her story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good information, August 2, 2011
This is a handy informative guide to the top rated (by the author) tent camping sites in Michigan. Sites are rated on several criteria (Beauty, good for kids, fishing, hiking, swimming, canoeing/kayaking, cycling, and peace and quiet. Along with a comprehensive key information block, each listing has directions, a site map and a general interest blurb. Information is includes area history and local attractions. I found the information listed and author's ratings were accurate based on the places that familiar with. I enjoyed reading this book, the style of comments is light and entertaining. I am inspired to go camping and I am looking forward to exploring several new places.

The author includes several good check lists and some general information for novice campers or those not familiar with specific Michigan facts.

The index is good and it is easy to look up campgrounds by location or by the rated criteria. The key/symbols used by the author and the overall layout make this a very informative, easy to use reference book. Recommended for libraries and all camping/outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore Michigan's outdoors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought Provoking SF Stories, July 30, 2011
Nice collection of classic SF Short stories. Reminded me of the magazines I would hunt for when I was young. I read this on my kindle over a month ago and I am still book talking to people about these stories, especially the fish... If you like your SF a bit thought provoking, and like to read something "different" instead of a "formula" then this collection is a great deal. Enjoy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Keep looking..., August 14, 2010
We bought this grill last summer 2009 and have had to do major repairs on it twice already. The front panel falls off and then it is a pain to get the jets to line up, and the bottom shelf fell off... There is not a good weld on this appliance. So don't buy if you don't own a spot welder or if you expect this grill to last for more than a season, or if you ever think that you will ever move it from one location to another. It is not worth the price tag - though it does look impressive....

2.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining stories but not information that is useful, January 13, 2009
I was hoping for more details instead of "war stories". The stories are great and fun to read but - this book did not give me any new insights on how to work better with my own horses. Nor did it give me any hints to help my spouse (not a true horse person but he really wants to try!)communicate with the the more complex/extreme personalities in the pasture. I was disappointed in this book and felt that it does not live up to the "rave" reviews it received.
