5.0 out of 5 stars Great flick!, November 9, 2012

I wasnt expecting more than a silly vampire movie when I rented this, but it turned out to be a fantastic action movie. It also had a good bit of humor and some pretty decent "pop out and startle you" moments. The vamps were pretty gruesome and the effects were good. The acting wasnt campy or contrite and the storyline, as odd as it sounds, followed Lincolns life pretty well. The writers managed to adapt parts of Lincolns life and actually make it seem like this could fit into it and explain some of his decisions pre and post presidency. They did a great job! Give this movie a shot, I actually ended up buying it after renting it here. My only quip is more with Amazon than the movie itself. 5 bucks to rent a movie? Really? Redbox is a buck fifty! Come on amazon, lower your prices!

3.0 out of 5 stars ok but getting stale, June 15, 2012

The story was good but this whole thing about saving Jace is getting old. He is always on the brink of some moral issue because of his "father". If he is the key to some bigger plan because he has angel blood I wish they would just get to it already. But, I did enjoy all the other characters sub stories. Izzy and Simon and Mangus and Alex, those were entertaining. Im also curious to see where the vampires head, especially with the little girl that Simon turned. Anyway, its a good book but need to round out a few characters plots already.

4.0 out of 5 stars good book, January 9, 2012

This was a good book and I waited along time for it to come out. I liked the twist with the 5's kids and their husbands and Katrinas father. What i didn't care for was all the back and forth with Katrina, Quinn, and Damien. One minute shes totally in love with Damien, he has a moment of bad behavior, Quinn enters the picture and she is in love with, pregnant by, married to, then divorced from him and back to bonding with Damien. She is written more like a spoiled monarch when she finds out what all the hisbands did with the kids. She never gives any thought to the fact that she had the same idea and was asking Tao to help her with the placement of her child. She didnt consider what it would do to Quinn to take their kid away and when he beat her to it she gets bratty and accuses him of betraying her. But it was perfectly ok for her to plot the same idea? She wasnt as mad at her father when she found out he was the driving force behind the guys doing what they did. Its just maddening all the back and forth. Other than that it was a good book.

5.0 out of 5 stars loved the series., January 9, 2012

I loved this series, or trilogy. It was smartly written without a lot of the annoying "teenage" speak that plagues YA books. Its action pact and has a heart to it. My only judgement would be the authors constant need to describe in detail how well Erans clothes fit him lol. We get it, he's hot and Maggie loves how he looks. Over all though, great book and great trilogy. Way better than crappy twilight. This series should be made into a movie franchise.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good start to what I hope is a new series., January 9, 2012

I really liked this short book. I think it will make a fantastic series. The cliffhanger ending was enough to make me want more. Ive enjoyed all of the books from this author and am hooked on her other series. If you liked this book you should read the vampire chronicles she wrote. I am eagerly waiting for more on both of these series. Great easy reads!

2.0 out of 5 stars Get to the point!, October 28, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I really like the first few books in this series but its getting really redunant. How many times can these kids battle some new Neferet creation before someone figures out that the chick is whacked out of her mind? I just finished this latest book and it wasnt that great. First off, whats with all the horrible grammer? I know the characters are kids and have their own lingo but its horrible to read. All the aints, and gonnas, and crap, its aweful! And I know Zoeys grandma is native american but is this book her "accent" is so much more pronounced that it sounds sterotypical and out of place since it wasnt that bad in previous books. The second frustrating thing is that it was mostly about Rephiam and his humanity, Zoey was totally a secondary character. And why all of a sudden are the twins at odds? Why keep throwing out these unnecessary subplots, just get to a point already! If the now inevitable next book isnt more action packed and clear, I am giving up on the series. Im tired of wasting the time and money for mediocre books.
