5.0 out of 5 stars Fictional Look into NYC's Inside World of Politics--Great Thriller, November 4, 2013
This review is from: Wall Street West (Hardcover)
Dr. Guameri's background working in politics and her speciality with Ethics in Public Policy puts her in the unique position to write Wall Street West, an insider's look to a fictional politician in NYC. Fun read with an action packed mystery.

5.0 out of 5 stars You'll Be Cheering for Elisa!, November 4, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Slow start--but worth the wait!! Great character development! Love to see a character transform (especially a young woman) and discover her inner power. Lots of teens can relate to some of the main character's struggles. Love the adventures.

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid, but prefer Scorpio Races, November 4, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
LOVE Maggie Stiefvater, but this series not my favorite--too much repetitive story line within the book. I felt like I was reading the same scenes over and over. Much prefer Scorpio Races and Raven Boys!

4.0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful and fast-paced read!, September 13, 2011
David Treciak knows how to write. In The Ordinary Life and Extraordinary Death of Josh Turner, the reader feels the main character Josh's frustrations, his amazement and discovery of what happens in the "after life". If you like Dean Koontz or Stephen King, or are looking to read a book that entertains while exploring the meaning of life, this book is it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great favor for Eclipse movie party, June 24, 2010
I bought 10 copies of this book and will give them out as a favor at my teen daughter's Eclipse party. I will be making some of the recipes for the event. Is it a gourmet cookbook? No. But it is FUN!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Food for Thought, October 2, 2008
This is a thought provoking, yet immensely readable book. The author articulates how religion may be inhibiting scientific discovery, innovation, and emotional intelligence. He respectfully makes his points with humor, science and historical data. The Third Basic Instinct is certain to open eyes.

Ar' Back Yard
Ar' Back Yard
by Anwar Dharma
Edition: Paperback
Price: $12.23

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild Ride! Visit Golden Age of British Music and Culture, May 12, 2008
This review is from: Ar' Back Yard (Paperback)
"You'll be arrest, sued or shot within a week of being published" is what the author Anwar Dharma was told about his book Ar'Back Yard. After reading it, it's a spot on assessment!

Dharma gives an honest (some say too honest) look at the drugs, violence, gangs, music and the absolutely insane lifestyle that to this day dominates British (and beyond) youth culture.

Must read for those who love sub culture, music, and anything British!

Locked In
Locked In
by Michael Esposito
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Read in 24 Hours!! Intelligent Medical/Legal Thriller Told with Insider's Knowledge, September 6, 2007
This review is from: Locked In (Paperback)
Locked In is a must read for those who like John Grisham, Michael Crichton and James Patterson: an intelligent, absorbing read introducing audiences to the dark side of surgeons. I understand the author, as a doctor, used real life experiences in constructing his plot--which makes the book eerily come to life!

Enjoy this up and coming author who is destined to be a household name!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Solution for Helping Kids Score High on SATs, December 5, 2006
At first my kid's groaned, not THIS CD again, I want the radio! But after spending a little time listening to Ms. Maser's CDs, she really grows on you. We ALL find ourselves laughing and learning. Will the kids like it better than Red Hot Chili Peppers? Probably not! But they have learned and retained an incredible amount of vocabulary in a remarkably short time! 5 stars from this family of 6!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrills and Chills--Vampire Book Sure to Please, December 5, 2006
If you like Anne Rice, try Vampire Royalty. It's filled with action, romance and mystery. I understand it is the first in a trilogy and I want more!
