5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed! Just what I wanted!, February 16, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Background story; Drought conditions in So. Calif required replacement of lawn to save water & do our share to conserve! Done.

Planted two Palo Verde trees, a mesquite, some cactus, a several more drought resistant type plants, surrounded now by lot and lots of dirt! Then the rains came in Dec. & Jan. and to my surprise dormant weeds jumped up to 2 feet high by mid-February!
Bought some cultivators w/out much effect then I remembered seeing a professional gardener w/ one of the massive hoes knocking down weeds, so I searched Amazon and sent for this "puppy".
Today I used it for the first time and I was knocking down my 2' tall weeds with the minimum amount of effort! The right tool usually does the job for you and this fits that exactly!! The length of handle, width and sharpness and proper weight of the hoe head does the work without struggling to add muscle to the job. The raking and trashing was more work than the actual hoeing part of my gig!
Now it can't do it all, as one still needs to use a hand weeding tool to get to the deep roots in the plant areas. I will be buying and placing "weed control fabric" at the base of my plants to keep weeds out. But for my earth desert landscape I now have "THE TOOL" to control weeds when the rains come again to Ole California!

1.0 out of 5 stars Magnetized Tips! NOT!, January 1, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Magnetized Tips? Not

I bought these because they are advertised as Magnetized Tips. But...... they are somewhat magnetized, so ad is true, but to minimal extent because they can barely hold even a small screw. What a drag.

Bottom line; it's still a cheap set of screwdrivers that will come in handy for the odd job around the house, but you'll need to hold the darn screws yourself!

Bummer product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant surprise!, July 18, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This makes my 5th. Woolrich jacket over a 34 year span of time. Most others are all light-weight mountain parkas so this is my first short waist, unlined Spring or Fall jacket. Great with a shirt or T-shirt!

Don't be fooled thinking its "lite weight", because the canvas type cotton has a little heft to it! {Actually weighs more than my Nylon Parkas!} But really un-noticeable when wearing.

I know my size with their jackets and even though I'd normally wear a Large, I buy the X-large so it will fit my heavy frame. ha!
I'm 5' 10" with very board solders and chest, and yes belly too, now. So I can button this, and even though the X-large sleeves are longer than I need, the two button cuff prevents the sleeve from falling pass my wrist. So if you are a large framed man with a spare tire this will probably fit you too. If you don't have the extra spare, go for the Large size.

Lastly the color and design. Actually that should be in first place, but anyways, that's what attracted me in the first place! It is definitely a man's jacket, with it's rugged looks and pocket placement. This short waist would fit right in horseback riding coz it won't be it the way at anytime. Much like a Levi jacket in that regard. I went for the grey as I don't have that color in any other jacket I own, be it Woolrich or some other maker! So, happy hunting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gatekeeper; from Pendleton's Heritage Collection, June 18, 2014
This review is from: Pendleton Blanket: Gatekeeper
My first Pendleton blanket; and man, it sure is beautiful!
I dig that I can flip it and I have a completely different color orientation with the same design! Like having two blankets in one. Can’t get over my enthusiasm!

I chose this one because it attracted me more than the other options. So many fine looking blankets to pick from took some time to contemplate, but in the end this one was right up my alley!

Now even though the blanket measures 64”x 80” and I have a king sized bed, I discover { ha ha } that if I turn the blanket sideways it completely covers the bed top and the 5’ width from top to bottom is still enough to cover oneself from shoulders to feet! {at 5’ 10”}

But because it is not an exact fit I wanted a bed spread underneath that is king size and for this purpose I bought the Pendleton Eco-Wise Easy Care Blanket in the Juniper Heather, a kind of dark bark green, which the color of course goes with both sides of the “Gatekeeper”.
I was a painting contractor so finding colors that worked together was my business and to be sure that applies to many facets in and outside one’s home!

So, all in all, I think I hit upon a note that I won’t tire of anytime soon.
I had many Pendleton shirts when I was a young man and many family members received “Pendleton’s” for Christmas!
But this is a first blanket and I now wonder why I waited so long!
Happy hunting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great triple player with major league sound quality!, May 17, 2014
Just what I was trying to replicate in an old one I have, but this is reduced in size by several inches, but not by sound quality! The other Sony has great sound with larger speakers but I cannot find fault with this new model! Nor can I tell the difference in sound quality from the old one! I'm very please with looks, features and sounds!

I saw some with the cassette & CD player on top and side by side, which to me looks like a design flaw, but this is the ''baby brother'' to my 15 year old one. This now will sit near my PC desk for easy access to morning radio and my language CD's. Portability is major in a triple player like this and 2 way power makes it so. I hate wearing ear buds and fussing with play lists so its back to the basics for me and great room filling sound quality to boot!

Dan Post Men's Earp Boot
Dan Post Men's Earp Boot
Price: $126.94 - $188.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Ain’t too Shabby!, April 17, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Dan Post Men's Earp Boot (Misc.)
After buying and sending back 3 previous pairs of boots; two from Justin, one from Lucchese. I finally hit pay-dirt with these Dan Post’s!

I wear 9 ½ EE, but drop down menu showed 9 ½ 3E, I thought it a miss print and sure enough when they arrived it was just a single E. But the good news for me is that they fit. Biggest factor in shoe or clothing is fit!

Now the shaft I wish were larger in circumference, { tad under 14 inches around} so I could slip into them easier, but with a few mink oil treatments they should soften up enough to slide into without all the pulling and stomping.

I chose these because they look more like a ‘’knock around’’ boot that I don’t have to worry about banging up or polishing either! Never had a squared toe before, as my two old pair of Chisholm’s are pointed toe. And are “rough-outs” another knock around type. But after seeing all the “snip toed boots’’ on Amazon product pages these are much more attractive and I thought I could get use to them if not really like em’!

As I wore em’ around the house and sat watching TV with them on for a few hours I knew I’d be keeping them. They grew on me that fast! And was relieved that all this returning business was finally over with. But I have to commend Amazon return policy and “PRIME” shipping for making this whole process a smooth operation!

BTW; I wear a size 9 ½ EE in tennis shoe, or Clarks {my favorite shoe maker} casuals, sandals or any hiking boot. Sometime I've bought a 10D when the 9 ½ EE isn't available in a certain shoe but those are the exceptions and not the rule. So this all adds up to the ‘fit’ accordingly to size.
Hope that helps anyone needing extra info!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best pocket knife EVER!, February 9, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great price for a pocket knife with a color that most ''dudes" shy away from.

Imagine being afraid of buying anything based on color bias, ha ha.

I've read other reviews wherein males are making apologies about the color and then saying the knives were gifts to girl friends etc. ha ha ha! This to me is a prime example of how our culture has brain washed us men into accepting a very narrow "idea" of what manhood is. Most of which is all BULL> Manhood is about doing the right thing, by neighbor and friend, going to work and being responsible for the family you've bought into the world and setting a good example as a person for your wife and kids, just to mention the basics!

So when I saw the price on this purple colored LEEK I thought that the color is really great, and nothing to detract me from buying this based on some other reviews. Reviewers that really need to self examine the content of their minds and do some more growing up!

This is the third in this style I've bought; one dark green with black blade, another much larger that is just to big for a pocket knife & now this one. Which I might call my "purple Onion peeler" ha ha.

All these Leeks are very fast in opening and extremely sharp. Next, very slim with only 3" blade and 4" overall length which again, makes it a perfect fit for a pocket knife! Oh... and the color again, ha ha.... just about the photo, maybe a tad darker but really KOOL looking!

I'd call it a neon purple and will be on the outlook if they make a neon green or red! I'm retired and ya can't have to many knives!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice shade, Ok base., February 2, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my third table lamp in this style and am very pleased with all the shades. The shade is the MAIN ATTRACTION to buying this kind a lamp. The only draw-back is this base is a resin base, from a mold I guess and the least attractive than the others I bought.which appear to be metal.

Life has little over-sights, compensations that need to be made when acquiring "stuff" so when the lamp is turned on in the evening all is right;. Its not that the base is "butt ugly" but it lacks the look of quality.

From the gate I unpacked outside on my driveway so I don't have to clean up the thousand & one bits of Styrofoam everyone seems to mention!

2.0 out of 5 stars 2 Stars for Blu Ray! 5 Stars for the Movie!, December 20, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have to disagree with these over zealot reviewers of the Blu Ray quality!! They must have seen a different Blu Ray than I did, but I think its wishful thinking on their parts; desperate for the TRANSFER to be greater than it is! NOT-SO!

This transfer is excellent in daylight scenes but is really lacking in low light and night scenes. Tons of dead pixels look like Van Goth's Starry Night Painting! Not sure if its dead pixels or not but the night scenes sparkle with white spots everywhere, which makes me doubt Kino's input in skill or paid services in this so called Blue Ray transfer. So buyer beware; don't expect to be overwhelmed; with the exceptions of daylight or brightly lit interior scenes.

As for the movie finally. I've loved this flic since I saw it on our first color TV circa 1960! It's the fantastic story or eternal life via condemnation until love saves the lost soul and ends his desperate wanderings from eternity! You'll find yourself tripping out on just how many films since this was made that have borrowed this central theme. But this is the grand daddy of them all, and a most enjoyable evening can still be experienced with this entree into the Blu Ray arena.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lil Hat!, October 28, 2013
Nice hat for the money!

The photo is spot-on. What you see is what you get! Sizing clothing items over the net is always a concern, but I knew I take a 7 ¼ in a Stetson and 7 3/8th in Larry Mahan.

Milano Hat Co. is the maker of this hat and they put Larry Mahan's name on their's elsewhere on the net!
So it became a dice roll, a coin toss and & 7 ¼ was my Lucky number in this "Justin."

The hat is pretty stiff on brim and crown unlike a Stetson that's xxxx beaver, but this is a different fur so therefore stiffer. No big deal to me, could be for you though.
Again the fit is just great, and a real nice hat for the coin!

Lastly the brim is 4 ½ inches instead of 4" so I'll be having a hat store trim off ¾ of an inch and re-shape the brim to a flatter shape all for under $20 bucks.

Hope this is useful to someone!
