Egyptian Jewelry Silver Hathor Zodiac Ankh Pendant
Egyptian Jewelry Silver Hathor Zodiac Ankh Pendant
Offered by KemetArt
Price: $74.99

4.0 out of 5 stars Well Pleased, September 24, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am very happy with this purchase. I wanted a "man-sized" pendant and this fits the bill. The pendant is 1.75" in diameter and has some weight to it. It needs a heavier chain, as seen in the photo. The wife says I look "gangsta" when wearing it, but I don't know about that. There was no delay in receiving the item. I will purchase from Kemetart again.

1.0 out of 5 stars I was thoroughly disgusted and will watch no more, September 10, 2015
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS A SPOILER. After hearing so much positive feedback from fans of the series, I looked forward to viewing the DVD and was initially enthused. By the end of this first half of Season One, I was thoroughly disgusted and will watch no more. There is an underlying theme of rape and sexual brutality throughout, with male characters making such pronouncements as, "She walked bow-legged for a month after I was done with her" (that's a paraphrase, not an exact quote). There is also a very graphic scene where the villain whips the male protagonist with a cat-of-nine-tails and basically shreds his back into strips of hanging flesh. No human being could survive such a beating. This is a depiction of extreme brutality for what purpose? Shock? Desensitization? Proving how graphic the filmmakers can be? I don't get it. From reading reviews of the second volume of season one, I understand it gets even worse. Frankly, I'd give this series a negative rating if I could. That said, let me recommend the new 2015 version of Poldark. That's probably more of what you're looking for in a period romance of this type.

5.0 out of 5 stars A treat for the eyes as much as the ears, February 15, 2015
This review is from: Song of the New Earth (DVD)
This is a beautiful film, as much a treat for the eyes as for the ears. Whoever put this documentary together could teach a master class in the art. We purchased the deluxe version from Kenyon's site, not yet available on Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars I do still have lots of pretty blue flashing LEDs on the front, October 31, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Purchased December 2013 through Amazon. Less than 10 months later neither the WiFi nor the RJ-45 jacks are working. I do still have lots of pretty blue flashing LEDs on the front, though, so I guess that's something, y'know, for mood lighting or whatever. :/

Hoya 37mm Circular Polarizer Filter

5.0 out of 5 stars Gets the job done--Why spend more?, December 28, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For the money, this is a great little filter that is useful for darkening blue skies and saturating colors in outdoor shots or to remove or increase reflections on water and glass. It works best at 90-degree angles to the sun, which is to say that it won't do anything if the sun is either directly in front of, or behind, the subject. Can you spend more money on similar products that do the same thing? Yes, but for its intended use on "point and shoot" style digital cameras, this gets the job done just fine. Also, be aware that on some models, like the Panasonic Lumix LX-7, you'll need to purchase a filter adapter to allow use of threaded filters such as this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars A necessary accessory that shouldn't be necessary!, December 28, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I call this a "necessary accessory" because I frequently use a circular polarizer filter to darken blue skies and to remove or increase reflections on water and glass, and since the lens of the LX7 isn't threaded for a filter, this adapter is needed to allow attachment of a polarizer. The quality of this product is very good, as you'd expect, but I only give it 3 stars because 1) it easily costs twice as much as it should (seriously, what is it but basically a step-up ring), and 2) SHAME on Panasonic for not building the filter threads right into the end of the lens barrel to begin with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Goofy, strange, beautiful, August 8, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Angel-A (DVD)
Angel-A is a wonderful little treat from Luc Besson. It's goofy, it's strange, and when you think you know what happens it's something different after all. Every scene is beautifully composed and the lead characters sparkle like the Eiffel Tower in the background. My guess is you'll watch it once and think, "Well, that was strange." Set it aside for a few months and then view it a second time and you'll fall in love.

3.0 out of 5 stars Life changing, August 11, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Eating - 3rd Edition (DVD)
Since switching to the plant-based diet advocated by the "Eating" DVD and "RAVE Diet" book, I've lost over 11 pounds in less than a month. I estimate my actual compliance with the diet at 80-to-90%, depending on the day. As time moves forward, I find more ways to comply with the RAVE guidelines.

I have experienced several periods of "detoxification" (your body does this naturally as those vegetables go through you!) with accompanying low energy. This lasts maybe a day or two, then I feel much better than before.

Whereas I walked sporadically before the diet, I now walk 1-to-4 miles every day, simply because I feel better.

The DVD needs a Scene Selection option, but other than that it offers excellent value for the money. The first part of the DVD explains how animal-based diets are killing you; the second part explains how animal-based diets are destroying the planet. It's an eye-opener.

1.0 out of 5 stars Simply awful, February 20, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sword of Lancelot (1963) (DVD)
I had fond memories of this movie from childhood, and should have left it there! Obviously no attempt whatsoever was made to restore this film. Indeed, it opens with a foreground frame that looks like a 60's era TV set, and the quality of the film is so poor that you can easily imagine it was copied direct from TV! The frame goes away, but alas, the poor quality does not.
On the plus side, the acting is good and some of the battle scenes were probably quite graphic for the day. Even so, I can also imagine that Monty Python probably drew a lot of inspiration from some of the early scenes which simply come across as quite laughable. The director, Cornell Wilde (one of my favorite old-time actors actually), apparently thought the movie required a lot of trumpet blowing and that quickly becomes ludicrous.
The Menu system, if you want to call it that, only takes you back-and-forth between the movie and the FBI warning. There are no languages, no sub-titles, and no ability to select individual scenes. Thank goodness fast-forward still works, as it is the only way to watch this thing. In terms of DVD quality, shame on whoever put this junk together!
For the money, Robert Taylor's "Ivanhoe" from 1952 is a much better purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the sub-title fool you, October 26, 2009

Don't let the "How to Write Science Fiction & Fantasy" sub-title fool you! Yes, that's in here, but this is possibly the best book about writing that you'll ever come across. Friends who have read the book agree. It's a pity that the book is out of print, but don't let that stop you. Find a good used copy from one of the Amazon sellers and enjoy this marvelous book!
