1.0 out of 5 stars AS5 Legit?..., August 10, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I don't know if my "Fulfilled by Amazon" item from a 3rd party is legit.

Temps were very high in Idle mode for my Intel 4790k CPU mounted to a best-in-class Noctua DH-14 heatsink.....51C! Reapplication still put it in high 40's. My temps should be below 30C!

My naivete. I bought this as a knee jerk prejudice from the old days when AS5 was the KING of thermal pastes. Nowadays, there's SEVERAL better priced and better performing brands.

I went with Gelid Extreme which is consistently considered one of the top 3 products out of about 20 pastes (only liquid metal products beat it apparently) that better the AS5 in tests. The Gelid comes with a spreader so it's easy to apply evenly on the CPU instead of the hit-and-miss pea/rice size in the middle (as too much can be dangerous to the mobo and too little can increase your temps due to spotty coverage.)

If you don't want to use a spreader and prefer the aforementioned dot method, then try the MX, PK, or TX or Noctua pastes as all are better than AS5...and most importantly, NON-conductive(!!) in case the paste accidentally hits/bricks your mobo.

1.0 out of 5 stars BLEW After 2 Days!, August 6, 2014
My unit blew a LOUD(!) firecracker sound after 2 days of use.

Before this blow out, the PSU was randomly rebooting my desktop. I thought it was the new Windows 8 bugs that was causing this randomness or maybe the new mobo.....ultimately, the culprit was the EVGA unit.

Mind you, EVGA is a great company for video cards but they are new to PSUs and they thusly aggressively price their PSus to build name and market share.

Well, I'm hesitant to be a part of their "learning experience" as they ramp up their know-how in how to build reliable PSUs.....good thing they have a 10 year warranty....I think they secretly know they have a higher than normal failure rate and want to assure customers they have their back.

Being that it's EVGA, I'll take that trust forward if anything were to happen to my replacement. BTW....if you research this unit on other stores like N**egg, you'll notice lots of 5* and 1*....in other words, you either get lucky with a good unit or you don't.

If you want a reliable PSU, get a unit from companies that have been in this game a long time like Seasonic or Corsair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative for the M50's, August 1, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these for my Audio Technica m50's...like so many others have done before me.

The legendary m50's have one issue and that is their cheap pleather ear pads.

I didn't have the uncomfortability after 1 hr issue or sweatiness as heavily as other m50 users, but these issues are there to varying degrees for different people.

Honestly, I could live with the stock m50 pads as many people don't have issues, but if you wear the m50s a lot, this luxury purchase makes sense, especially after the eventual cracking of the plasticy stock ear pads.

These oft-recommended EDT ear pads are a good replacement for making the m50's more comfortable, no sweatiness issue and higher longevity (the won't crack).

The EDT pads take a while to install. Start at the top and use a rounded end plastic spoon or fork underneath to slide and push the envelope over the ridge.

As relates to the sound. Hmmmm. This is VERY subjective! I would align myself with some who say that these pads make the bass more reverbish and wider in soundstage in consequence.

The separate middle rounded fabric mesh that comes separately on the EDT can be put on or off. With the mesh off, the sound is slightly more sibilant. You can use the EQ to adjust that. I got used to the slight top end bump and currently leave the mesh off. I'm still experimenting with this at the moment. The middle mesh is slightly thicker than the stock mesh and using common sense, you can figure that it'll alter the sound a smidge. You have to be really anal about this issue to really care though. Alternatively you can cut the old mesh off your old m50s and place it here instead. If you want to make a hobby out of this issue it's up to you. Most won't care or have the time to play with it as they just want more comfort and use the mesh so the driver stays clean against the smudge from the backpack or skin flakes/hair.

In the end, I'd suggest to buy these once your stock pads crack or are having big comfort/sweat issues. Otherwise I'd postpone this purchase as these are OVERLY expensive at $24.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Perfect Workout Shirt, August 1, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are the best workout shirts I have come across.

They are thin, but not too thin (i.e. versatile) and are fantastic in hot 100F weather or on a cool day.

The material is smooth and light and sturdy. No nipple rub scars from jogging.

It's great they come in many colors as well.

Hopefully UA carries more heather colors as they are the most unique & stylish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Svelte & Stylish!, August 1, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great case. Makes the Kindle still thin and light, which was an issue I had with Kindle Keyboard model and the Amazon leather cover which was beautiful but too heavy!

This case is classically beautiful, stylish, and just plain works and keeps the Kindle svelte. Screen turns off when cover is closed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product, June 9, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Looks elegant, not chintzy.

I bought it so I can put my headphones inside from gathering dust.

As it's made of velour, if you leave it out in a dusty house, you'll get the dust between the velour material.

You could get a cheap plastic cover that's easier to wipe off dust, but this is a much nicer material to go with expensive headphones you mat have. And again, it can be easily cleaned....just a bit more effort than using a smooth material bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the Job, June 9, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
They are big but that's to be expected for a "universal" size product.

The sleeves stay put and are grippy but may be too long for some of your handles....again to be expected of a universal product. You can cut the sleeve to fit your smaller handle.

As to heat prevention, it does the job as you would want.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, June 9, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The trio has good build quality and good value.

The net is tightly wound. It's not a micro mesh (i.e. for fine coffee grounds) strainer but the holes of the net are small enough to prevent most stuff like Quinoa, etc.

Just plug in the screws into the wall as the unit is heavy. No stickers for this baby.

The rotating light and power lend to its flexibility of finding things in the darkest, furthest, deepest recesses of your closet.
