5.0 out of 5 stars Great flash cards for Step 1, June 18, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These flash cards are a great complement for First Aid when studying pharmacology for Step 1. The drugs covered are nearly the same (there are some extra here and a few that are in First Aid not covered here) and each card is nicely laid out with mechanism of action, use, side effects, and a couple random notes. They are great when you want a little more information on the mechanism of action than the one line that First Aid gives.

However, these are not true "flash cards," they are not ideal for quizzing yourself. Think of them as a portable First Aid drugs section. The cards are very thin, as some reviewers have pointed out (they are basically heavy-weight paper). I really didn't find this to be a problem at all though; if anything it makes them more portable.

Overall, I looked at several other options (BRS Pharmacology Flash Cards (Board Review Series) and PharmCards: Review Cards for Medical Students) and neither comes close to what you really need when studying for Step 1. Lange cards give just what you need, no more or less, which is ideal for Step 1. I would highly recommend these cards to anyone studying for the boards.
