5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great, Cuts Square, Expensive but Worth It, April 28, 2015
This is an excellent film cutter- well made, cuts square, the translucent windows make it much easier to cut slide film on a light box without missing and cutting the picture. It is quite expensive for what it is, but it cuts straight every time and makes it really easy to cut negatives into strips for scanning and storage. After years of using cheap paper cutters to cut film strips using this is a big step up!

One small suggested improvement- it takes a lot of turns of the dial to move the film, so it would be nice to have a clutch to disengage the film roller to let it slide through faster, but that is hardly critical.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Very Comfortable, Really Only Good for Huge Watches, April 22, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The material is nice, but it is very thick and not comfortable when doubled up under the watch. This may work for a huge watch (>50mm) but with a 44mm watch it leaves too much on either side, and it is a lot less comfortable than a typical Nato or 3 ring Zulu. I ended up cutting off the two extra rings and now it is just a nice 3 ring Zulu strap. The PVD rings are nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great, Inexpensive and Secure Strap Option, April 22, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This wrist strap works great together with the "Custom SLR C-Loop Mini Camera Strap Mount". I don't let the camera hang from the strap, but it feels extremely secure. The strap is the perfect length- plenty of slack to move comfortably, but not too far to fall if the camera slips out of your hand. It is pretty comfortable, but the only minor gripe is that the "cinch stop" is a bit tight for my liking (I have 7.5" wrists, so they are probably slightly bigger than normal). Using it attached to the base plate of the Leica M also allows one to let the base plate hang off the wrist while changing film, so it makes the process somewhat easier.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Cheap Strap. Too Short, Best to Look Elsewhere, April 22, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It is a cheap leather strap- it is quite short, and also somewhat inflexible at the mounting point. The leather is of low quality and doesn't feel nice against the skin (rough textured on the inside). It gets in the way of holding my Leica M2 as it wants to be in between your hand and the camera. I also had to cut the hole bigger with an Exacto knife so it would fit the M2 strap post. I would look at other options.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great with a Hand Strap, Holds Secure, April 22, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It is bigger than I expected for a "mini" but it works great and seems to hold securely with the rubber grommet in between. I use it with the "Joby JB01271-PWW DSLR Wrist Strap" on my Leica M2 and the pair is the perfect length. I don't generally let the camera "hang" from this as I hold it in my hand so there is no real concern with stress on the base plate. It also holds the base plate for you hanging off your wrist when you change film, so you don't need to put it in your mouth or set it down, etc. It is essentially silent- no rattles, etc. Definitely recommended for this configuration.

Perfect for hanging film to dry in the shower! I suppose it could be good for laundry as well, but I don't use it like that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent value, price is right, April 22, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Price was right and the value is there for this to be worth it. The lens back cap fits well, although it is a bit deeper than the name brand version. The body cap is a bit weird in that it pushes on the rangefinder mechanism in my M2, and it appears to sit just above the roller cam. It doesn't appear to hurt anything, but something noticeable. If you need a set for your M mount camera, this is worth a look.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just what I needed for working on watches, February 11, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Fits B&L loupes well. Pretty comfortable on the head- a vast improvement over gripping the loupe in my eye socket for long periods. The rubber can grab hair a little, but this isn't really much of an issue, especially at this price point.

4.0 out of 5 stars A really nice Seiko diver, although not quite perfect, July 16, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a really nice Seiko watch- Nicknamed the Stargate II because of the inverted trapezoidal shape on the bezel at 12 o'clock. It is part of the Seiko Superior line, which means it has the 4R36 movemement and a premium band with solid links an innovative diver extension and microadjustment which is very nice compared to other watches in this price range. The watch case is contoured nicely and it is a very comfortable watch to wear, which I haven't always found with other metal bracelet style watches. This 4R36 movement is very similar to the 7S26 used in many other Seiko watches, although this movement allows Handwinding and has a Hacking function which means the second hand stops when you pull the crown out to set the time. The bezel rotates with 120 clicks and has a nice solid feel. The hands aren't my favorite design, but they have great luminous intensity.

Accuracy: I have found that my watch varies between approximately -7.5 and +5 seconds/day depending on the orientation- not COSC, but pretty darn good. With my normal wear pattern it is a few seconds slow by the end of the day, but leaving it crystal up overnight puts it right back to perfect in the morning. I don't really think you could ask for anything better than this kind of accuracy out of a watch in this price range. I set it once when I first received it over a month ago, and with a little positional regulation it has never had a deviation of greater than 10 seconds from atomic time which is better than many Swiss watches.

Fit and Finish: The dial/chapter ring alignment is pretty good although a few of the markers are slightly off. I think this is mostly related to the movement positioning within the case, so it is not really a chapter ring misalignment issue. The Crystal is flat with a "cyclops" over the date. I don't particularly care for this, and would have preferred the crystal from the original Stargate but that is what Seiko has chosen. The cyclops is slightly crooked, although this is not really noticeable unless you are looking really hard. The Stargate "lume pip" at 12 o'clock on the bezel is slightly off center from the black trapezoid, although it appears to be centered on the metal piece. This is another item that is not really noticeable unless you are really looking at it closely, but it is another knock on the fit and finish quality. The three of these items are the reason I took off a star. The crown was a little stiff to rotate at first, but I ran a little waxed dental floss over the threads and that made everything turn very smoothly. I did get my watch grey market through Jomashop, so this may not be the best quality example for the Japanese Domestic Market equivalent but none of these issues make me wish I hadn't purchased the watch.

Summary: I love this watch and I think it looks really good on the wrist. Sporty, but it dresses up really nice and fits with a suit or a polo shirt and jeans. The amazing accuracy and the hacking/handwinding overcome the minor issues with fit and finish that only the owner would ever notice.

SUPER STICKY SCREW BACK CASE OPENER BALL FOR Waterproof Watches Friction Style (Watch Open Ball)
SUPER STICKY SCREW BACK CASE OPENER BALL FOR Waterproof Watches Friction Style (Watch Open Ball)

3.0 out of 5 stars but I have had good luck with it generally, July 16, 2014
It is just a children's ball that you could probably find for cheaper in a toy store, but it works reasonably well to remove screw on watch backs. It has trouble with some backs that are screwed on very tight, but I have had good luck with it generally.
