5.0 out of 5 stars Always liked Pandora, Also have Desktop App From Inception!, April 18, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Pandora (App)
I use other music services too, but Pandora is a go to.
Don't forget, that it is enjoyable to get specific music you like to listen too. It seems this will be a standard now.

In order to preserve all these services, don't forget to shut it down when your not listening. Mind you, they don't pay a lot of money to the music industry per song, but those costs can build up. Act accordingly, and services like this will get better and better. Or go out of business.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Way To Fly... By Igloo..., April 18, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My old Igloo cooler has been everywhere and done everything. From oceans and bays to the mountains, and of course regular trips to the grocery store. Years and Years of active use. Direct Florida sun did some damage to just the hinges (Like it does to everything that spends time outdoors). The case itself however, is still very, very durable.
Took me about 10 minutes to simply replace my needed items on the cooler, with an extra set of hinges to boot.
I had no idea that these OEM parts were made, until doing some research.

Because of this type of support, and my all too often disposal of other coolers, I am now a loyal and lifetime patron of Igloo products!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Perfect Design, But Great Coffee! - READ THIS!, April 18, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
1st, the design... Everything is great except the lid, and the problem is the cleaning. Show caution when you clean out the lid, otherwise you will have remaining fluid from your last foray. Hold the flapper open and rinse thoroughly by running tap water through the front, rear and bottom orafice. Keep flap open and drain in all directions before setting out to dry. Removing the seal on the bottom of the lid helps, but we avoid this as it feels like undo wear and tear on a daily basis. There are some other ways to purge it before cleaning, but suffice it to say, pay attention to this part.

Everything else is perfect as far as the unit goes!

Here are some hints for starting a brew. Modify recipes to your liking.

1.) Pre-heat container.
2.) Helpful starter recipes
10 oz. 200° H2O/.8 oz. Coffee (medium-fine grind)
20 oz. 200° H2O/1.6 oz Coffee (medium-fine grind)
30 oz. 200° H2O/2.5 oz Coffee (medium-fine grind)
50 oz. 200° H2O/3.0 oz Coffee (medium-fine grind)

At 50 oz of H20 you will lose about 5 oz of water in the grinds. Use about 1/5 of your 200° water initially to bloom the grinds (pour, stir and bloom about 10-20 seconds) then begin the process of pouring water.

Use of a gold filter #4 is highly recommended over the disposable paper filters, not only in "flavor" (Essential oils), but long term cost as well.

Addendum: 3 May 2014
To BWH...

Thanks for the heads up! Don't know why text in the review repeated so much... But here's the cleaned-up version. Also, if you took note I did say above that "There are some other ways to purge it before cleaning" and of course yours would be one of them, but you still have to drain the liquid thoroughly from the lid as I stated (that's where the problem exists).

Next... never, ever, ever, ever, ever use soap when cleaning anything that is coffee brewing related. This is a cardinal rule to maintaining superior coffee taste. Lemon juice and kosher salt or vinegar and kosher salt and a good rinse are the best options. There are some other ingredients to use as well ("Crushed ice" - BUT NOT FOR THIS PARTICULAR CARAFE!) because of the fragility of the glass insulator.

The new version of this carafe (Melitta Coffee Maker, 8 Cup Pour-Over Brewer with Stainless Thermal Carafe), which I understand should be available in May, will have a stainless steel insulator. With that - use lemon, crushed ice and kosher salt. Place all in pot, cover, rotate and spin the ingredients inside to remove oily residue, rinse thoroughly.

NEVER USE SOAP!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a "To Go" Almost Filled Cup..., February 10, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you like coffee, and it's all about your To-Go, this is a nice, all-round Moka. Stronger than regular coffee, and a little bit more settling than a full cup of espresso.

Go for it!

Enjoy your day!

Remember:
All the different sized pots from Bialetti perform well, just follow the edict.

Cold, Fresh and Filtered Water.
Fresh, Medium-Fine to Fine Ground Coffee.
Medium-High Heat.
Keep handle away from heat.
Listen to when it's done, and pull from stove.
Serve...

3.0 out of 5 stars It Was Beautiful! Probably should have 5 *****, But, "Induction?", February 10, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Constructed for, but, did not actually work on "Induction," as claimed by various sources.

Diameter was too small to magnetically activate a professional Induction Stove. I could imagine that it wouldn't work on a "consumer version" Induction as well. Find out from your documentation the smallest diameter that the Induction will activate. If the info is not available in the User's manual, or online, call the vendor.

Did not test on any other heat source (because 'Induction' is the only reason for this purchase). I could imagine that, by its construct it would be "screaming good" on a gas fired stove, or electric for that matter, with the Moka Pot placed off-center of the heat source, so as to not heat, crisp and degradate the handle.

I decided to go back to my regular heat source, use my previous recommendation, stick with the road tested, exceptional and Traditional Bialetti Moka Pots of various sizes, depending on the need...

I would, however, recommend that Bialetti construct a product for the Induction Stove. Just widen the base, shorten the height, and physics takes care of the rest...

Was paying "expensive" for a prescription, what a dunce! Well I decided to have my computer literate husband do some research online.

Guess What?

Same product, same dose, same result, and a lot less expensive ($1/3).

Now it's up to you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Happy!, February 10, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a duplicated review, as I purchased many sizes and shapes from different vendors. I found that all the Banneton Baskets fell under this review, and I hope the information contained is useful. If it is, please say so, by clicking that it was "useful". The more you give

These are handmade... Out of natural product... 'cept the tiny nails used to keep the shape. As are, all of them.

And, as it is with all natural wood fiber products, since water was involved in-process, you may have an errant fiber on the inside, clip it off at it's root. I found none of these, within this vendor's product.

From a dedicated home baker they are exactly what you want!

Hint: Use "Bread Flour" preferably King Arthur, to coat the inside of this basket before proofing your dough. Coat it well by using 4 fingers like a pad and run it around the inside with a little pressure (to have flour stick to the sides and into the crevices). A few times at this and you'll be a pro.

All-purpose flours seem to not stick as well, and that's to any of these, from any vendor.

Make sure all of the nooks and crannies are well floured. You should not see the basket on the inside (dough basket), just flour and contour.

COMPLETE SUCCESS!

Carefully tip & roll your proofed dough out onto your baking surface, in the oven. Spray water with a spritzer and use a cast iron skillet (heated in the oven on a lower rack, centered) and place either 1/2 cup of boiling water (at a time, and my preference), or several ice cubes. This causes steam so show caution, but the crust becomes exceptional. Do this for the first few, to 5 or 10 minutes into the baking process.
