1.0 out of 5 stars Great title. Poor book., April 2, 2006
It's intriguing: The scriptures that have come down to us really aren't accurate and maybe we should rethink what being a Christian really means. However, this book uses little substantiation for its assertions, preferring, evidently, to be controversial rather than thoughtful. If you really have questions about the "holy" bible, please read Bart D. Ehrman's MISQUOTING JESUS. The author's creditials are REAL, his proofs are relatively clear, and his message is more useable: The bible is a human document that has application in our lives. My advice: Continue to be a seeker of Truth...but don't bother buying this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hey, it's introduction., April 25, 2005
I'm the author of THE COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE TO SOLAR POWER FOR YOUR HOME and take exception to the review by Robert Tipton "skeptical idealist." Yes, this book is aimed at those who have little knowledge of solar power and want to know more. That's the point! It's an introduction to the topic. Once the decision to solarize is made (it's not for everyone), there's much how-to information here to guide the reader through the process including buying, selecting, and installing a system that fits individual needs and budget. There are many other great technical books about the solar power option, including those offered by Real Goods, whose president wrote the foreword to and recommended this book. THE COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE TO SOLAR POWER FOR YOUR HOME offers intelligent readers the basics of a topic new to them. Please don't pan a book because it isn't for you. Thanks. --Dan

1.0 out of 5 stars Not, March 18, 2003
I concur with the reviewer who says it isn't a good preparatory book for taking the contractor license test in California. I took it in March, 2003, and the book was not only not useful, it wasted my time studying things that were not on the test. I do NOT recommend this book.
