2.0 out of 5 stars Worst goggle of the past 15 years, September 11, 2012
This review is from: Smith I/O Goggle (Sports)
It's been a long time since I owned a pair of goggles as bad as these. They don't really fog, but they get a weird streaky effect in between the lenses. Worst, Smith customer service didn't reply to multiple inquiries. I talked to s some people at shops around Tahoe and it seems that this is not an uncommon problem. The most expensive goggles I ever bought and they were horrible. Fortunately, the retailer took them back after I performed a little demo in the store to show them how useless they are.

4.0 out of 5 stars More than a cookbook, January 26, 2012
In addition to a bunch of really great recipes, this book provides a behind-the-scenes look at how a great restaurant is organized and runs. The dishes are time-consuming to prepare, but work if you follow the steps and they're fantastic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Look elsewhere, January 26, 2012
A truly dismal product. It doesn't work. Too light for a paperweight or doorstop. Too toxic to burn. It's certainly not a useful FM transmitter. It can't find clear frequencies even when they exist, and when you find one manually it can't produce a signal that sounds like "music". Much worse than the cheap one I bought at a discount store. I thought this one would be better, but it's just a repeat of poor experiences I've had with Monster stuff.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect and a good value, December 3, 2011
Most importantly, this dock works with the iPhone 4S, not every dock does in spite of what's advertised on the box and in the stores.

The controls are easy to use and located on the top of the unit, which makes them really easy to see. They spent a little extra money and included a couple more buttons than some companies do, and that makes the settings really easy to understand.

There are actually more features than I was expecting and everything works as it should. The light can be dimmed to several different levels or turned off, the snooze duration is configurable, there's a switch to change to/from daylight saving time, and the time can be synched with the Apple device. And it includes the gentle wake-up feature which I really like. I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could.

Sound quality is good, could be a little better but then it wouldn't be as compact. It's also not the most attractive product of this type, but certainly one of the better-looking ones. Overall a really good value.

This was the third clock radio/dock I bought, having returned two from other manufacturers. Philips makes docks with battery backup, but the alarm and clock settings don't back up (only the radio buttons!). Sony makes docks that "work with iPhone" but don't work with the 4S and they don't seem to have figured that out yet. So I'm really happy with iHome.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Compatible with iPhone 4S, December 1, 2011
The description of this product is very deceiving on every website I've visited. I bought one and only after contacting Sony, and only after they researched the issue I found out that it does not work with the 4S. You will not be able to play any music off the phone.

Other than that, it's great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some cool features and some that don't work, October 7, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Good sound quality, and the Bluetooth link to a cell phone is great if you live in a place with horrible reception because you can leave the cell phone in one place and walk around with the VTech handset.

Unfortunately, the feature that is supposed to sync your cell phone directory with the VTech directory doesn't work. It brings over leading "1's" in front of all numbers with area codes, so you have to edit all of your local numbers in the phone (verified with their support). That's a pretty brain-dead design if you're claiming to be able to import a directory and I'm not sure it qualifies as "synchronizing phone numbers" since the phone can't actually place calls using those numbers. Not sure I'm going to keep this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Leaves visible hole in your wall, August 30, 2010
This is another timer that's supposed to be mounted on the wall, includes drywall anchors, but does not have a way to hide the hole or the wires entering the unit. What's wrong with the designers of these things? Haven't they ever looked at a thermostat or doorbell and learned how to cover up the hole that the wires go through? That might not matter to some people, but my timer is mounted in the house, which actually makes a lot of sense.

Beyond that, this thing is just cheaply made.

2.0 out of 5 stars Avoid - A highly deceptive product, August 29, 2010
1. Although advertised as and "indoor" controller, it is impossible to hide the wires and the hole in the wall for the wires. It's fine to mount in a garage, but not in the house.

2. There is an 8-inch antenna wire the protrudes from the top of the unit. This has been cut off in the marketing photos and in the photo on the box. It's completely ugly and they didn't bother to spend 10-cents to cover it with something more attractive. It's just a bare black wire sticking up in the air.

3. The remote control works on a line of sight basis. It does not do well through walls. It warns you about this in the instruction manual. That's not my definition of "remote control" for something that you will be using outside when it has to be mounted inside.

4. The color of this thing is god-awful.

1.0 out of 5 stars A disaster, August 22, 2010
The whole concept is flawed. Anything you freeze into a single container will quickly meld into a solid lump. That's exactly what happens with these frozen herb products - they form a hard, icy lump that you cannot dispense. There are much better products where the herbs are frozen into small cubes for easy dispensing. I have no idea why a company would try to sell something that is so obviously defective.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Netbook, April 21, 2010
This is a pretty nice little computer. I wanted something to travel with and load photos onto along the way, and this seems like it will work just about perfectly for that. It's not terribly quick, but not too slow either. I'd rate it a 4-stars if Asus didn't load it up with a bunch of junk software that took a couple hours to remove. (Why not give me the option of SELECTING what should be added to the base system?) That's not very customer-friendly of them.

If you're looking for something to browse the web, and maybe run a small application or two, this is a really good choice.
