Decent, but desperately in need of sharpening when I got it. Needed work with a belt sander to approach a working edge.

Lovely gray/blue ink, nicely permanent. Doesn't do so well in a dry-writing fountain pen, but in anything that has a reputation for writing more wetly, it's perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars but light and easy to carry, August 9, 2015

It's an absolute beast of a knife, but light and easy to carry. Great as a folding kitchen knife or camp knife.

5.0 out of 5 stars A phenomenal blue-black, professional yet distinct., May 3, 2014
I simply love this ink. I'm a doctor, and at my hospital and clinic notes are still written by hand. This ink flows well in every pen I have, from the inexpensive Pilot Metropolitan up to a Waterman Expert, nibs from an EF Lamy Safari to the fairly broad Waterman M. It's bluish-black, like the smoke from burning oil. Hard to describe- is it blue with black tinting, or black with blue?

I'll run through a full cartridge in a day, so a bottle like this combined with a blunt syringe saves a ton of money. Fifty cents for a single cc of ink in a cartridge, versus about fifteen bucks for ninety? The cost saving becomes apparent in about two weeks for me.

I'll have to try the Antietam and others. This one has me hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars A challenging book, one that wraps layer on layer inside layer on layer., May 29, 2012

This review is from: House of Leaves (Paperback)
House of Leaves is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, and that is something it does extraordinarily well. The base story would be a workable challenge, a morning jog for the mind. The second layer, the narrator's interpretations and experiences, are an obstacle course fit for a Navy SEAL. The third, the experiences of those around the narrator, which act on, around and through him? That's parkour in a completely non-Euclidian world, one where the very laws of physics and reality seem naught more than a suggestion.

The book starts spinning like a top when you follow the action, a mirror is handy for some sections, and a pad of paper to keep the action straight. A fun, deeply challenging read, not for those seeking a light bit of fluff, but a workout that leaves you wanting a smoke and a drink afterward.

1.0 out of 5 stars Died after a year, service department unresponsive., May 3, 2010
I got this as a birthday present a year ago. It's a good looking watch, feels good on the wrist, and keeps good time. It gets five stars for that, loses three for the recent problems.

However, mine died last week. It's not a battery- an independent jeweler has verified that- so that means something more expensive.

It carries a warranty, but they neglect to mention a small detail. Having anything done on the watch, including battery replacement, voids the warranty unless done by their service center. This would not be a problem, if they had more than 1 service center, and their minimum fee to change a battery weren't $33 and stated to take a minimum of 2-8 weeks. That doesn't include the price to ship it to Invicta.

Calls and emails to their warranty department have gone unanswered.

It's a nice watch, but hope you don't have any problems, because they won't be there to fix them.

Edited to add:

An independent watchmaker has verified it needs a new movement. Their price is $78. Invicta's would be $97 not including shipping there- $28 S&H plus 25% of the $275 MSRP. I paid less than that for the watch new.
