5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Pretend to Have All the Answers, May 25, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
There are so many "guides" for marketing out there with tips that offer surefire success. Most of them are pure nonsense. What I liked most about this book was that it didn't feel like it needed to defend every single example shown. It was more objective that you'd expect from any book that covers marketing.

Mostly because it knows the truth. These ideas can and have worked. It doesn't mean that they will. Any book that makes that kind of promise is just lying to you.

This book offers ideas. It's tailored well to people who can try to take what they've learned and apply it to their own scenarios rather than copy what's been done here. I highly enjoyed reading it.

Gaiam Kids Yoga Mat, Purple Flowers, 3 mm
Gaiam Kids Yoga Mat, Purple Flowers, 3 mm
Price: $17.98

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice Design, May 18, 2016
This review is from: Gaiam Kids Yoga Mat (Sports)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
My only real knock on this mat is a worthwhile one to make. You don't really need to get a kid a smaller mat. A full size one isn't dangerous. Sporting equipment needs to fit properly. A yoga mat could in theory, take up the whole room.

The design is cute. Gaiam mats are of a decent enough quality. They're not top of the line, but aren't priced that way either.

If you kid really wants this, I wouldn't hold back, but you're probably better off just getting a big mat.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun book, May 18, 2016
This review is from: Golden State: A Novel (Paperback)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I'd be tempted to knock a few stars off Golden State for having a pretty confusing plot. It can be hard to tell what's going on at times. Despite that, it's good fun.

The premise is exciting. The characters are original. The writing is fresh. It's the kind of book you wouldn't necessarily want to call a beach read since that implies a certain lack of intellectualness, but it's something you would definitely enjoy out in the sun.

Mac and cheese is one of the best options for gluten free fans. The cheese can cover up even the worst of gluten free pastas. Fortunately, this Horizon stuff doesn't need to be masked with cheese.

This mac and cheese is delicious. Even people who don't have Celiac or need to be on a gluten free diet will enjoy it. Give it a try!

Night Blindness: A Novel
Night Blindness: A Novel

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a fan, May 18, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Night Blindness is blind to the fact that you can't just have a protagonist with no redeeming qualities. The readers needs to at least sort of care. Jensen is pretty much a terrible human being. The book doesn't really care and that's a problem.

This book is not good at all. It's not very original either.

2.0 out of 5 stars Slow and boring, May 18, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Final books in trilogies can be tricky. Much of the buildup has happened already and everyone is waiting for the end, but you still need to produce a full book. The problem with Witchrise is that there's just way too much filler.

It's not very interesting. Slow and boring until you're past the point where you care. Fans of the series may find this interesting, but I didn't.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Short Story Collection that Thinks Too Highly of Itself, May 14, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The comparisons to Girls make perfect sense as you read through Barbara the Slut. This is a collection that thinks it's edgy. While it's entertaining at times, it's hard for me as a reader to enjoy this book and much as it seems to enjoy itself.

Even when considering that this was written for the millennial generation, it's almost too open to be taken seriously. People don't talk like this. If they do, I imagine it would be hard to pry them away from their smart phones long enough to get them to read this book.

Crystal Fire (The Hunted (Teen))
Crystal Fire (The Hunted (Teen))
by Jordan Dane
Edition: Paperback
Price: $7.93

4.0 out of 5 stars Fairly Original, May 14, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
There's a lot to like about Crystal Fire. It wades into well trodden territory while still feeling fresh. The characters are interesting enough. It's hard to criticize any elements that seem unoriginal given the saturation of the YA market.

It loses a few points for the writing. Dane sometimes gets lost in unnecessary descriptions, which caused me to feel disengaged at times. Other than that, Crystal Fire is a pretty good read

Proof of Forever
Proof of Forever
by Lexa Hillyer

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Beach Read, May 14, 2016
This review is from: Proof of Forever (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
As summer approaches, many parents will look for books for their children to read. Proof of Forever has a strong pulse on the current state of fiction, offering a quite diverse cast of characters. It wades into the heavy stuff without necessarily burying you in the same with it.

My only real issue is that the book sort of loses track of its plotlines. They come and go and aren't all answered. For people who need to have everything neatly tied up, this might be problematic, but I certainly enjoyed it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Adequate, May 12, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This book is essentially for fans of Butler, unless you love short stories (who does?). As someone who wasn't familiar with his work, I kind of felt something missing having not read Shotgun Lovesongs.

If you love that one, you'll probably enjoy this too.
