Don't read this book. Instead get the audio version. It is the perfect thing to listen to in the car and put you on a good mood before work. Very funny. Combines old and new comedy material.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dysfunctional family issues. Liked it but didn't love it., October 1, 2014
Good story about family dynamics and how complicated they can be. The family is a little too dysfunctional for my taste. I prefered the family dynamic depicted in The Secrets Inside by K Tirado Ryen, which is a great read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sadder than expected from Jane Green, October 1, 2014
This was definitely more of an emotional and actually somewhat depressing book than some of her earlier works. Although the writing is solid, it does not have the same feel as Mr Maybe. Overall I was just not that impressed.

I did like Jemima J and much of her early work and recommend Two Weeks of Summer by Katherine Tirado Ryen if you are looking for a good read along those lines.

5.0 out of 5 stars We could all use a fresh start sometimes!, October 1, 2014

We could all use a fresh start sometimes! This is a great story about starting over and rediscovery! I can really relate to Alice's journey.

If you like this you will also enjoy Forgetting Me by Katherine TIrado Ryen a talented young author and of course Remember Me by the amazing Sophie Kinsella.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it and you will too!, October 1, 2014
This review is from: Remember Me? (Kindle Edition)
Amnesia always seems like a theme for a romantic comedy movie. Sophie Kinsella takes on the amnesia theme in a fun and entertaining story that will keep your interest the whole way through. It is definitely unpredictable and has a different feel from the Shopaholic books. Lexi wakes up to her perfect life... or is it?

Also check out Forgetting Me by Katherine Tirado Ryen. Both books raise the bar for stories about amnesia and self exploration. ENJOY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, August 24, 2014
This review is from: Family Pictures (Paperback)
I am a fan of Jane Green. This is a good story but not one of my favorites.

This is an interesting story of women expereincing significant change in their lives. There is much more to the story than just dealing with children going off to school. The story takes some unexpected turns and keeps your interest throughout.

Other good reads that I found similar are The Beach House, The Secrets Inside by upcoming author Katherine Tirado-Ryen and Under a Summer Sky by Nan Rossiter.
