5.0 out of 5 stars Best Protein I've Tried So Far!, May 19, 2014
I've tried several different brands of whey protein over the past year. Whey HD is by far the best I've tried. The flavor is delicious - very smooth, not to sweet, and no strange after taste. It mixes easily and settles easily as well. Whey HD will be my go to protein for the foreseeable future!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why no Blu Ray + DVD combo?, January 2, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I loved this movie, but I'm very disappointed that there is no Blu Ray + DVD combo, only a single disc blu ray. For those of us that still collect blu rays, many of us enjoy the dvd to play in the car or on a lap top. I'm hoping this is not a trend for future Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, December 12, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this book because it looked interesting on the surface. Boy I'm glad I did. This is one fantastic graphic novel, if only for the art. The artist is extremely talented, and his style is a cross between Indian painting and 1980's Disney Animation (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin). But this book isn't just all art. The story of Krishna, the 8th Avatar of Vishnu, is extremely well told and easy to follow. It is done in a way that is grand and mythological, yet also respectful of the Hindu religion. I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in art, animation, or just a well told story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beware of Spoilers!!!!, May 24, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Art of Brave (Hardcover)
First of all, let me state this is a fantastic book. All aspects of the film are covered, including backgrounds, major and minor characters, structures and creatures. Development of how these were brought about is gone over in depth.

However, those of you who preorded the book (as I did) and don't want to know the plot of the movie need to be warned that there are major spoilers included. Most of the movie is story boarded in black and white and in color, and you will pretty much know the whole film if you page through the book in detail, as I tend to do with "art of" books. Again, if this is not a problem for you, its a great book and dig in. But if you want to stay surprised as too major plot points in the movie, I'd wait until after the film before opening up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow....., April 13, 2012

I buy alot of strenght and condtioning books - some are good, some not so much. This book book exceeded my expectations in every way. First of all, for the money, its a huge book. Photographs are large and in color. Mr. Rooney covers just about every aspect of conditioning you can think of in this book. He lays out tons of options involving weights, strongman implements, and bodyweight. He gives you a very good guide on diet, and a twelve you cycle you can follow if you choose. This book gives you eveything you need to get in shape no matter what you're goals are. I highly recommend this book for all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the wait!, August 31, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Although I was told 10 different release dates for this book, when it finally came I was not disappointed. The art is first class all the way, and you get to see the thought process that went into creating every aspect of the Monster Hunter games. It is a great reference for character and creature design, and I highly recommend it for any aspiring fantasy artists out there. Five stars all the way for this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Art Book!, August 19, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
To be honest, I bought this book on a whim from Amazon's recommendations. Thank goodness I did. This book is chock full of 200 pages of fantastic art courtesy of Genzoman, who is not only a fantastic artist, but one who is in high demand in the gaming industry for his designs.

The subject matter of the material presented is mythical and legendary characters from throughout history, done in the arist's style, which resembles very closely the anime/manga style of the east. Angels, Vampires, Gods, Demons, Pirates, Samurai - they are all present and accounted for. Many of the interpretations are interesting to say the least, all are done to the highest quality. I literally paged through the book several times before writing this review.

The only disappointing thing was after receiving the book, I looked the artist up online and discovered that he has so much material dealing with Legendary and Historical figures that he could of easily doubled the size of this volume. Here's hoping for Volume 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Cookbook of Physical Success, January 8, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Got this book after I saw all the good reviews that fitness professionals were giving. I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Despite its large size, it's an easy read. Secondly, the author encourages you to go where you want to go with the chapters. Obviously you wouldn't try to do everything in the book at once, but his advice is sound and does work. Lastly, the most important idea I got from the book was that everything you do in there has the quality of transferability. There may not be a need in today's society to deadlift 500lbs or run an ultramarathon, but if you can accomplish these things, the success transfers to other parts of your life. You become more of a whole person, as the author says. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone seeking physical self improvement.

5.0 out of 5 stars An outstanding resource!, December 22, 2008
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I continue to be amazed at the quality of book that Men's Health has been putting out lately. In Huge in a Hurry, Chad Waterbury presents a number of ideas that while not new (and he is the first to admit this), go counter to what the majority of the fitness industry pushes as "correct". Fast lifting, total body workouts, frequent workouts, and steady increments are ideas that the author has found to be productive with his own clients, and what's great is he lays out the whole workout for you. Its like having a personal trainer letting you know exactly which path to take, without having someone screaming at you.

The best part of the book though is it's written so the layman can understand. You don't have to be an Russian Olympic weightlifter or a Westside Barbell disciple to understand the author's explanations of things. Its a very fast read with tons of information that can help you whether you are a beginner, or an experienced lifter who is finding what he (or she) has been doing a little stale. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to kick start their routine and get the performance that they are looking for.
