1.0 out of 5 stars Complete POS! Cheap crap!, April 24, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bad, bad, bad!

I had higher hopes for this. The house is wired for surround sound and we had an old iPod in the closet so we could have music around the house. I was hoping that this would work so I could be within, say 25 feet and still have it work. Nope.

The sound stutters within 5 feet of the closet. Granted, there is a hollow-core door in the way. Regardless, I've had this problem with Bluetooth devices where they don't broadcast far enough. That is the case with this.

If you are using this within line of sight, this MIGHT work. But I might suggest that you keep looking. I just bought this Miccus Home RTX: Long Range, Bluetooth Music Transmitter or Receiver (A2DP) and it through the entire downstairs of my house. It was at the far edge of about 40 to 50 feet that the unit started to stutter.

Buyer beware!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice meal in case of no alternatives!, March 22, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is what it is. It's a freeze dried meal that you're either going to use in extreme conditions or camping. That being said, it's not at all unappetizing and easy to prepare. The chicken and noodles were both tasty and not un-recognizable in this format. I would order again and have as a staple in the emergency supply bin.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than I had expected!, March 22, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The first book in the series felt more like a YA book following in the same vein as some other YA series. I am really happy that Scott Sigler really brought more action to this book. It's definitely got a Lord of the Flies feel to it mixed in with some science fiction. The characters from the first book are back, of course. Scott Sigler does a decent job of giving you some of the back story but not all of it. I read the first book some time ago and almost didn't remember anything from it. But fortunately, it's not too hard to pick this book up and keep going. Overall, it's a solid entry into the series and I'm curious to read the last book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice keyboard for the price, February 4, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Very nice keyboard for the money. I do like the back lighting. The only thing that I don't like about it is that my carpal tunnel kicks in and I had to use a wrist rest for this keyboard to be fully comfortable. Beyond that, I am using it for a daily keyboard and have no reservations endorsing it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent conclusion to the trilogy, January 22, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The concept is highly imaginative, but the success of this book is in the depth of characters and the depiction of very human traits. The environment is realistic with elements of science fiction. Characterizations are well done throughout. And the end does justice to the other two books. One of the more interesting books I have read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for a kid that loves video games., December 7, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The thing about this is that it's geared towards kids of all ages. So if your kid loves video games, they'll like this book. My seven-year-old has never heard of half of the games in this book but was proudly telling me about the top 5 games that were on the 'blah blah blah' list. It's very engrossing for him. And he's reading which is also happy. Just sad that it's about games that he's probably never going to play because by the time he's old enough to play them, there will be something equally awesome that will consume the time. Regardless, he's having fun reading about them.

I should also mention that while some of the games mentioned in the book are pretty violent, it doesn't really come across to a younger reader. I haven't had any complaints about scary pictures, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, multi-threaded story, November 13, 2015
This review is from: Slade House: A Novel (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Slade House is sliced up into multiple stories starting with a 9 year interval. The story starts with a secret door that opens only to some people that results in some hallucinogenic moments and ends with their death. Since the story is split up into components, you're going to get a different slice of things each time. But every story revolves around the mysterious door in the wall.

It's hard to add anything new given that there are so many reviews already. I thought that the story progression was interesting but the writing quality was quite good. That being said, there is not a lot of explanation for the mysteries in this book. Some of it is pretty vague and you're just going to have to roll with it. And why after years and years of things being a certain way, do things start to change? You can pretty much just roll with it and read this as a very well written novel. If you want a lot of answers, this is not for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a Joe Pike, Elvis Cole and Scott James Novel. Maybe 1 Too Many..., October 24, 2015
This review is from: The Promise (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Here's the thing about Elvis Cole novels. They're typically pretty good. Elvis Cole and Joe Pike always get their case solved. There might be some grit to their case but they get it done. Scott James is a new character and still being fleshed out in some ways. Elvis and Pike are the stars here. Scott James is the new figure added in. Beyond what the story is about, this story reads like a combination of all three characters and I'm not sure that the way the plot threads are blended worked for me. Some parts felt forced. Never mind that it's still really well written and entertaining. Just that I kept waiting to figure out who was really going to get things done in the story. And in this case I think the blended characters detracted from the book, rather than added to it. Again, it's still very well written and enjoyable. But just not quite as awesome as I think it could have been. Worth the read for sure!

3.0 out of 5 stars Why is the blade so short?, September 20, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I was intrigued by this and wanted to give it a try. I typically use a break-off razor blade knife for opening mail and was curious to see if this would work. And the answer is NO! Utterly and completely NO! The blade that sticks out is very, very short. So unless you're slicing down all the time, this would be fine. But to get this blade under the flap of an envelope is impossible. If you're opening boxes only, sure, it would work. Just slicing downward would be fine. But that's the only use that you're going to have. Disposable razor blades work better.

5.0 out of 5 stars it's a pretty nice sleeping bag, August 31, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
No idea why it’s a “Women’s Bag” beyond the color. Not sure what even constitutes a gender specific sleeping bag. Beyond that, it's a pretty nice sleeping bag. No pillow included. Just the bag and a bag to put the bag into. It seems to be warm enough for the most part. I don't have a ton of experience with other sleeping bags or even "mummy" bags in the past few years but this one seems nice enough.

The zipper didn't snag after multiple tests. It's a nice sleeping bag assuming that it fits your budget.
