1.0 out of 5 stars Misleading, April 4, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As other reviewers have posted (and which I, uncharacteristically, failed to read before ordering), the order is for ONE (1) box of 4 sleeves of saltine crackers, not the TWO which are pictured with the ad. I thought nearly $10 was expensive enough for two boxes, much less a single box. Get your crackers elsewhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Newest PlayStation iteration exceeds all my expectations!, November 16, 2013

This review is from: PlayStation 4 Console (Video Game)
I'll write a more robust review when time permits, but for now suffice it to say I'm quite pleased. Unit worked flawlessly from the moment I hooked it up. Amazon did a great job getting them out on Launch Day (hoping for a similar experience next week with the other console.) Nothin' but love!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book of meditations for the anxious mind, May 9, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm privileged enough to personally know the author, and was there when he announced the concept for this book. Gary is as genuine an individual as you'd care to know, and this easy-to-read book provides Scripture passages and snippets of insight from someone who is a self-described "worry-wort." His style is very down-to-earth and personable, which precisely mirrors his demeanor when you talk with him.

Whether you use this book for daily meditation, reflection during Holy Hour, or simply as a no-nonsense easy read on your commute, this is a marvelous title for your consideration.

4.0 out of 5 stars Delightful little ottoman for a decent price, May 9, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I ordered this for Mother's Day for my elderly mom who just suffered a stress fracture in one of her feet and needed to keep it elevated. I took it over to her house and she was enamored with it from the time it came out of the box. The padding on the lid/top was sufficiently deep to provide a comfortable footrest for her while watching TV at night. The two hinges on the inside operate smoothly and click at their apex to keep the lid open. Closing it is just as easy and takes minimal pressure to get past the small detents used to keep it propped open.

The color is neutral enough to go with many décors , and while no one will mistake the fabric for genuine leather, it isn't plastic or vinyl appearing either. As noted by another reviewer, the stitching doesn't precisely match between the lid and the lower section, but this is a minor aesthetic issue. Nonetheless, I deducted one star due to the stitching. The inside storage is spacious enough to hold magazines or DVD/video game cases to keep them out of sight.

It's enough of a quality product where I am strongly considering ordering a second one for my own use at home.

For its price-point, it's a wonderful piece of furniture.

1.0 out of 5 stars No longer works on Kindle Fire, December 5, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This latest "update" (5 December 2012) no longer runs on my original Kindle Fire. It certainly used to previously. I already paid for this a year ago and refuse to have to pay another $3 for the Kindle-specific version. Whether this is Amazon's doing or Rovio's, I don't know but either way it's crappy practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Canon Power Shot ELPH 300 HS, July 14, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received a Canon Power Shot ELPH 300 HS for Christmas last year. The camera came with a smaller Case Logic padded case which fit the camera itself just fine, but left no room for storing the dedicated battery charger. I was concerned that the two would get separated or lost if they weren't stored together. This case perfectly solves the problem!

The charger fits comfortably in the front accessory pouch, with plenty of room for an extra battery, SD Card, etc. The main compartment is roomy for the Power Shot, and well padded. Packed inside the main compartment is a thin adjustable neck strap for toting the case and its contents. This lanyard-style strap clips onto two plastic eyelets sewn into the back of the case. Also sewn onto the rear of the case is a wide strap for hand-holding the product. For me, this hand-strap was an additional boon to the overall design; I wanted to include one of the small flexible-leg mini-pods in my "kit" but didn't want to mash it and the camera together in the main compartment and risk scratching or damaging the camera. By sliding two of the legs under the hand-strap and the remaining leg over the top of the strap, I could then intertwine the feet of the tripod to secure them to the case. It can be easily removed in seconds should I need the mini-pod for shooting, but is unlikely to accidentally come loose on its own otherwise.

I couldn't have ordered a better case for this camera if one had been tailor-made for it. For the price, you simply cannot do much better for a well-made and affordable compact camera case than this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surpassing Quality, July 13, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Just received this today, and already burned 2 sticks! Comes packaged in a box containing six sealed tubes. Each tube in turn holds a sealed bag that contains the actual incense sticks. Having some experience handling and mixing high quality essential oils, I can vouch for the quality of the aromatic resins used in this product. Each stick comes very well-coated, with very little "fall-off" (bits of incense that flake off as "dust" in the bottom of the bag during shipping.) The sticks light easily and burn evenly for about an hour each. The scent is pleasant, with a strong woody component that is in no way overwhelming or "perfumy." The scent lingers for some time after burning, and leaves a clean and pleasing smell in the area for a couple hours afterward. For the cost and the quantity and quality of the product, I enthusiastically give five stars!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great quality and value, May 13, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've been looking for a decent mechanical ("wind-up") pocket watch for some time, and was encouraged by the customer ratings here to go ahead and order one of these watches.

For this price range, the watch is surprisingly solid and well constructed. The stem was a bit stiff at first, and took a bit of effort to pull up in order to set the timepiece. After working it up and down a few times, it seems to be a bit easier to adjust. The movement appears to be made out of a brass alloy, and under medium magnification has an above-par fit and finish, with no discernible burrs or machine marks. The mainspring, wheel train, oscillator and escapement are all clearly viewable through the front and back crystals. The hour and minute hands are ornate black indicators, while the second hand is a simple straight indicator. The face is plain white with black Roman numerals for each of the twelve major segments. There are no minute pips between the numerals. The second hand is of a sweep variety versus a discreet interval type.

The case is silver-tone and is likely steel or steel-aluminum alloy. The front and back covers are both spring-loaded and both are released simultaneously via a button at the top of the stem, above the crown. The outside of the case proper as well as the outside surfaces of the front and back covers are flat and appear to me to be slightly burnished. They seem to be somewhat resistant to fingerprints, but an occasional cleaning with a lint free cloth or handkerchief should be all that is required to maintain a good finish. The inside of both back and front covers has a simulated "hammered" texture. Either/both covers look like they would take an engraving well if you were to present this as a gift to someone.

According to the item description, it indicates that the main crystal is "mineral" (i.e. glass or lead crystal), however it has a plastic-y feel to it. With the covers in place, is should resist scuffs and scratches while in your pocket, but a little extra care is always a good idea.

The mainspring can be wound via the crown atop the stem, and there is sufficient tactile feedback to prevent you from over-winding the device. The movement has a satisfying old-timey "tick-tick" sound which is often muted or missing altogether in quartz movements and digital watches. The accuracy for a mechanical piece of this price is amazingly good, and has only lost around a second or two over three days (that falls within "acceptable" accuracy for me.)

My only real gripe with the watch is the hands, which to my middle-aged eyes are a little difficult to make out against the background in low- to medium room light conditions. I would have been happier if a small white dot had been placed near the tips of the hands for higher contrast and easier viewing. You may want to keep this in mind if you'll be purchasing this for an older person or someone with less-than-optimal eyesight. It's the only thing that kept it from being a 5-star review, and I can still highly recommend this watch if you're looking for a good quality, low-cost mechanical timepiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet app!, January 7, 2012

Amazon just offered this for free on their app store, so I thought I'd give it a try. It works wonderfully and lets me check both my desktop and laptop with ease. It does passably well at browsing, and streams media reasonably well, although some files did hitch every once in a while. For what it is, what it does, and in my case what it cost, it's a handy little app with some serious potential!

4.0 out of 5 stars Best of ifs kind!, December 7, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Very clean, polished look. I too would like to see an alarm function in the future. Love that it has a 24 hour (military) time option, something the Fire desperately needs added to its OS.

An alarm feature will bump this to a 5-star app.
