5.0 out of 5 stars Fun activity, good bang for the buck - also gave me a lot of ideas for future projects!, July 28, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
For $10 bucks you get enough to make three flowers, a crown, and three fairies - and you'll have plenty of cup-cape wraps left over. Included are lots of cup-cage wraps, die-cut parts for the flowers, fairies and the crown, plus decals for all of those (you'll have a ton of decals left over as well.) We spent about an hour making these, with a couple of breaks. We each made a flower and fairy, and made one of each together, and made the crown together. The included glue-stick is large and has purple glue that dries clear - so the child (and you) can easily see where the glue is at. Nice. Once you make everything, you'll have plenty of ideas to make your own. Oh yea - she wore the crown for three days. It was a little small - she's 5 years old and I had to use tape to stick the ends together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great interactive activity that will keep your little one engaged over and over! Tons of decals and lots included., July 28, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I ordered this for a babysitting activity to use when we watch the five year old grand daughter. It's basically a scrap-booking starter kit. Included are some ribbon strips, roll of green tape, glue stick, tons of decals, plastic sheet of templates, safety scissors, little stick-on gems and even more. We printed photos of her and some friends, then cut them out together. We worked on the book for about 45 minutes until she got bored - but she asked to take the book home so she could put together pages with her friends. A couple of days later her mom told me that she keeps adding to it, especially when she has new photos of her friends. She also tried gluing an MLP (Fluttershy) into the book. *that* did not go so well!

Great interactive activity that will keep your little one engaged over and over! And they will ham it up for the camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent timepiece, screams quality. Very well made - weighs just over 6 ounces!, July 27, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Wow. Beautiful and rugged, weighing in at just over 6 ounces, this is one of the most beautiful timepieces I've owned, and I've had Chronosport, Tag-Heuer and others, all in the same price range. It's big - approximately 1.75" wide, from edge to tip of the crown. If you have small wrists, you may want to look at the women's version - it's large as well.

Looking like satin-finished gold, it's great as a dress watch or classy casual watch. It just screams quality. I have a cheaper watch from another brand that I wear when I'm working in the yard, etc. It's about the same size - but half the weight. Everything on this watch is beefed up, but Movado still manages to keep it looking elegant. Water proof to 99 feet, you can safely swim and shower with it. The band has a unique double catch that is very comfortable and does not pinch.

I resized my band with a paper-clip held in a pair of needle-nose pliers. Only took a couple of minutes and easy to do if you're the slightest bit handy. There are arrows on the underside of the links indicating the pin removal direction.

Other notable points: Two year warranty for defects, crown is not locking, but seals when pushed in. Bracelet is finished over the entire surface. The bracelet has 10 full sized segments and two half sized ones. Five of the full sized segments and both half sized ones can be removed for sizing.

This is a magnificent timepiece that you'll be thrilled to own!

3.0 out of 5 stars Well made, won't work with several the LG Android phones I have access to., July 25, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Requires Bluetooth Generic Attribute Profile compatible phones - that's not all smart phones, and unfortunately mine, nor my GF's or anyone I know with an Android phone can use this lighting system - the APP is not supported. On an iPhone or select Android smartphones I assume you can get it to run - but I can't even download it.

So to be honest, I can't say how well it works or connectivity. I *can* say that it's very well made and professional looking. The LED's go through a color cycle at power up, so I can see how bright they are - you can stare at them and not be blinded. So they are bright, but not overly so. During the day the reflected light would be pretty dim, but look great at night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Full featured GPS / Navigation / Sonar / Fishfinder system in one compact package, July 25, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I picked this up to use on a smaller fishing skiff, strictly 1 or two person boat. Room is at a premium, but that's not really a concern here. The display / head measures about 5.5x5.5x1.5" - controls take up about 2" of the bottom, while the screen measures 1.25x2.5 - about the size of a smart phone. The rear of the unit has the mounting thread, cable connection and micro SD slot. Yep, the detail is amazing, charts crisp and clear, and apart from some glare, the screen is fantastic.

In the box you'll find the head unit, mounting hardware and transducer. The transducer mounts on the stern - detailed positioning instructions are included. Basically it's make sure the transducer is submerged and away from turbulence and bubbles. The transducer and head mounts are both screwed in place. Mounting template included.

Install is quick and easy. As is typical of modern electronics, the only paperwork included is warranty, installation instructions and warnings. The manual is available online - the site must have been designed by an engineer - you'll eventually find it, but it's like drilling down data on a 15 year old system. The manual is 136 pages.

The "downvision" beam (3D, extreme detail) is for slower speeds, while the conical beam is for faster speeds (less detail.) These are automatically selected, based on boat speed.

Asst: The transducer is about 8" long, and protrudes from the aft bulkhead. You want to make sure you don't damage the thing - it'e well made, but if you hit something you'll break the mount. It communicates with your smart devices (tablet, phone) via WiFi, not Bluetooth. There's a waterline, transducer and keel offset, simulator and more. Detailed GPS / chart navigation, plus sonar. Of course there are also various alarms, auto and manual range settings, color settings and more. An amazingly complete package. The GPS is just what you'd expect - you can set waypoints, alarms, record tracks and so on. The chart display supports vector and scanned charts. The unit also supports optional Jeppesen charts with High resolution bathymetry and community edits.

I'd suggest downloading and going through the manual to see if it supports the charts you may be familiar with or prefer to use. Navionics charts are included on micro-SD card with SD adapter.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK power supply, very basic. Low bang for the buck., July 20, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
650Va version reviewed

We have several computers at our home office, plus the usual assortment of monitors, accessories, etc. All on UPS's. We're not loyal to any brand - basically be look for the most bang for the buck. For the power supplies, the bang for the buck on this unit is so-so. We have three Cyberpower UPS in the office - they have been up and running for two years - and have display screens that show all current status, from load to discharge. The Liebert has two LED's - that's it. No idea if it's charging, capacity, time remaining or anything else. When the power fails, like all other UPS, it beeps about once per second. It's actually quieter than many - but there's no way to turn it off.

I tried this on a table lamp that uses four 20 watt bulbs - it lasted just under 7 minutes. 80 watts, 7 minutes (longer than the math said it should last.) That''s not very good. An average computer uses around 140 watts, plus another 20 for the monitor. 160 watts - so you'll have just over three minutes of power. I have a monster PC that uses 220 watts and THREE monitors - 70 watts. 290 watts. For that PC this is almost useless. For an average home PC, this will last three to five minutes. There is a USB connection and the power supply will automatically shut down the computer (you obviously need an available USB port.)

The back of the UPS has one surge protected outlet (white) and three with power backup. On the upside, there is a two year warranty, but others have three year.

I prefer having a LOT more power available than I need, so I can actually use my computer during the power outage. Having a "time remaining" on the display is a huge benefit for that. If all you need is a basic power supply that will automatically shut off your PC, this is fine. But there are many in the same price range with more power and features.

4.0 out of 5 stars The five year old granddaughter loves it, lots of kits and refills available. Easy to use., July 17, 2016
This review is from: Lil Lockitz Memory Studio (Toy)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
We babysit several times a month, and are constantly looking for mess-free ways to keep the 5 year old granddaughter entertained and occupied. This set is designed to be a project as well as long term storage for future projects.

With what's included you can make necklace, watch and hanging lockets. Included are puffy little images, "jewels", backgrounds and even a template so you can make your own backgrounds (use photos, etc.) It kept her solidly occupied for an hour at a time. The lockets were very easy to assembly - put them in the top, turn the dial - done. You can install batteries for lights and sound - but that's just effects - you don't need them for the thing to actually work.

Over two visits, it saw a total of just over two hours use. She took apart a few lockets to redo them the second time around.

It seems a bit expensive, but everything is really well made. Refill and other sets are available, including a "selfie" set that includes a hole-punch for the backgrounds (no need to cut your own.) This would also be a fun project for a party.

The five year old was able to create lockets from start to finish with no help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great specialty clamp, especially handy for short planks, drawer faces and smaller panels., July 16, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is really a specialty clamp, and for what it does and the quality, it's a solid 5 stars. It's a great addition to my woodworking bench vise - I wind up using that vice for way more than it was designed for. This Kreg vice takes it's place when I need to secure medium-sized items I'm working on (sanding, staining, other finishing work.) Long items can stand on the floor and are secured from falling over or shifting. Drawer faces, small shelves, etc. can rest on the stops. There are also two bench dogs included (3/4" holes) so you can use this clamp in combination with those for larger items.

The blue aluminum base is heavy and thick - 1/4"! The T slots are the universal size. This also means that you can use the clamp with any universal rail/bar. However, the clamp won't fit Incra T-slots (not a standard size) - I tried. The clamp can be mounted to steel or wood - mounting hardware included. The screw or nut heads are fully countersunk.

Kreg offers the clamp individually for around $40 - so for the extra $$ you're getting the heavy-duty base, stops and dogs.

I have one minor complaint - the knurled nuts that hold the stops in place are plastic. I can see these wearing out pretty fast, but you can pich up steel or brass ones pretty cheap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine, very large connector may not fit all systems., July 15, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I picked this up for a single monitor system, and it works fine. The connector is HUGE and may not fit all systems/monitors, The combination of the stress relief, unlock button and thick housing really add to the size. The connector is just over 2" long (not including the actual plug) .5" thick and just over .75 wide. If your monitor is against a wall and if this pokes out the rear, you'll need at least 4" of space to avoid really kinking the cable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but the QC is lacking. Looks great., July 13, 2016
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Overall - I hate when something is assembled when the company just takes a nut and welds it to something as a thread. That's what this chair has. So of course there are ugly welds, tons of grinding, bolts that are impossible to put in straight, and some nuts with welding splatter inside, making them very difficult to thread. I had two that I had to use my extra beefy Allen key set on, and one that was VERY crooked. Welders will tell you that there are two types of welders: Welders and Grinders. Welders make nice, clean welds. Grinders make sloppy, junky looking welds and grind off the excess. This was "welded" by grinders. But that's all hidden after assembly. Many welds are not completely around and have exposed metal. This will eventually rust.

Assembly: Pretty easy, Allen key included. The back hinged part took almost as much time as everything else combined because of a very crooked thread and a thread with splatter in it. Total assembly time - one person - 45 minutes. Only uses a few bolts and washers. Hardware is stainless steel.

Support: One bar across the area under your knees, cross-pieces by the legs. None anywhere else. Sit in an area without a cross-bar/support, you sink in about 8 inches and the pillow starts to make a "V" with your butt in the center. The part that sets the angle of the back is crooked, so only one portion fully sits in place.

Comfort: Yea, it's really comfy. Easy to fall asleep on. Arm height and width is ideal. People will be tempted to sit on the long part as a bench - can't do that because of the lack of supports. Yes, there's vinyl strapping, but it's not very tight and offers little support.

I expect this to last three or four years, and I have to pick up a cover for it as the pillows are not weather proof. The material is not that plastic or synthetic material - it looks and feels like cotton, but I could be wrong.

This is a great example of the designer having one vision, the finance department another, and the cheapest bidder getting the contract. Looks great, feels nice, but needs work. Two more cross-pieces and better QC on the, er, threads.

I've included a lot of photos. What's included, problem areas, etc. The box can be transported by car- it stuck out of our trunk by about 2 feet., but fit. Weighed around 40 pounds. Oh yea - the instructions had decals on them to correct mistakes. Read them twice before assembling!
