5.0 out of 5 stars Jody is very fine!, July 24, 2014

When I first heard her in 1990, she became the one for Me. She is tied with Madonna IMO. Her fine voice is young sounding and her words are so good. All of her songs are great but her best one is "Don't You Want Me". It is such a smart and romantic song that will remind you how a woman can be and/or is. I especially love this remix, in the time range of 3:41 to 3:58 it will truly remind you of how wonderful the time of 1990 was. "What 'Cha Gonna Do For Me" is such a fun song, My gosh it is a terrific one indeed! "Looking For A New Love" is also a great one. This album has a really cool nonstop DJ-like dance/romantic continuance to it and I find it very cool!

Even after 2 decades, she is still like My favorite female singer. With all due respect, none of today's female singers compare to her. I still enjoy listening to her after all of this time!

If you are looking for a female singer that will be "new" to you with a wonderful voice, easy music, fun songs, and love-making words or wanting to be reminded of the 80s & very early 90s then Jody Watley is indeed that gal for you to listen to!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Cool Set!, April 8, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is an awesome set to get your excitement tone down a bit before the Godzilla 2014 movie hits theaters! Both monsters have great sculpting and the buildings are a bit tricky to put together at first but it is a nice display set. This is one of the nicest sets like this of all time especially at a low price so this is the way to go if you want it all in a very nice set that is not only affordable but also really fun!

As a huge Godzilla fan I really wasn't a fan of Chibi versions but since this set is American and available now I made an exception to get this simply to have a cool display of Godzilla 2014. I got chose this set first over the other. The quality and sculpting is great and is a very fun set. If you are a Godzilla fan and want a cool and fun cheap and simple set to display this would be great for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Without a single doubt, the score of the year and one of the best period!, December 5, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Thing (Audio CD)
As a huge fan of John Carpenter's The Thing, I did not get the chance to see the original in the theater but after about 30 years later a new and much needed prequel is released at the show in October 2011 in time for Halloween so I had to see the new upcoming prequel, it was an absolute must but before that could happen I had to get the score! From first moment to countless listens I am awe in each time! Scoring Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Live Free or Die Hard and returning for Scream 4, and being a horror master, Marco Beltrami was a wise and decent choice to score The Thing but listening to this fantastic score it more than seems that Marco Beltrami seemed like he was destined to score this, it just sounds so right, so right that could be quite true. Seeing the film I was not disappointed at all, it was all and more I had hoped for it to be after hearing Beltrami's fantastic score. The album is in chronological order. Beltrami included Carpenter's famous beat and even sound nice wind effects in the first track "God's Country Music". I was surprised that the majority of the second track "The Road to Antarctica" was not in the film. Listening to it I had envisioned and suspected that it was the theme of the lead character Kate Lloyd, a paleontologist due to its very classical sounding greatness, why it was chosen not to be a part of the score in the final film I'm not sure but I believe there was only tiny hints of it in the movie. I just love how in many sections within the score Beltrami makes his music sound very alien and not from Earth and how the score is really dominated by the Thing's theme. When you hear the theme just once and for the first time you'll know what it is and what it's for, it's that powerful! The score is quite epic with blasting horns, pounding drums and eerie strings, its quite marvelous indeed. At times you can tell Marco nods to Goldsmith here (he was Jerry Goldsmith' student, Goldsmith is My favorite composer of all-time). I have heard many good scores this year but none of them compare to Beltrami's The Thing. Beltrami's other great one this year called Scream 4 was very exciting but still isn't The Thing. There's just so much to it besides what I mentioned. It has great sound and is very original, its exciting, spooky, and even emotional at times. Some moments doesn't sound like Beltrami but there is a few that Beltrami fans will love because only he could do it! After listening to this I am going to give Beltrami more attention now:) Like the director said in the booklet, the score definitely tells a story, the listener will especially notice this after a few complete listens. This is arguably Marco's greatness score to date! I have gone to the movies many times this year of 2011 (the year of the extra-terrestrial movies) and I have decided that The Thing is the movie of the year and without question the score to The Thing is the score of the year and in fact, the score is one of the most dynamic ones I've heard in a long time and one of the best of all-time!

Favorite Tracks: (if you listen to them in this order without the other cues it gives you a cool alternate score)

2. Road to Antarctica
3. Into the Cave
4. Eye of the Survivor
5. Meet and Greet
6. Autopsy
7. Cellular Activity
8. Finding Filling
10. Female Persuasion
14. Meating of the Minds (Arguably the most important track just as the scene is arguably the most important in the film!)
18. In the Ship

5.0 out of 5 stars A gorgeous Wonder Woman Statue!, April 10, 2010
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
Wonder Woman, the first statue of the great Cover Girls of the DC Universe Series is extremely thrilling. Based on the depiction by Adam Hughes in 1999, her pose is captured so accurately it's uncanny. She is such an attractive feminine powerhouse because the sculpting is just tremendous as it shows Wonder Woman's exciting physique consisting of nothing but muscle! Her face makes her appear in the early to mid thirty age range with nice thick blowing hair. Her body is very thick with nice hands, muscular arms, good pecs, good chest proportions, visible abs and legs and back muscles. One interesting note is that because of her raising her arms in the air her pecs are raised making her boobs lift up, I find this quite amazing because I'm awed how realistic it is. Her clothing of her armored suit is quite cool being red, white, blue and gold. The gold on her armor and her silver gauntlets shine and the boots look very realistic with wrinkles as well as being cool looking. The paint applications is very good because as there is only a small dot on the back of her boot that I noticed but I really like how her face is painted. Her eyes are colored a very bright blue with some dark eye shadow and she has this very dark red lipstick that makes her so beautiful! Her famous lasso is actually metal and cannot be removed. She is permanently attached on her stand. On the bottom of it is painted Cover Girls of the DC Universe & DC Direct info plus the number she is of only a limited 5000! Again she is a statue and quite sturdy but of course be careful with her! If you love Wonder Woman or just a DC Comic fan in general and/or a collector then I seriously recommend this gorgeous Wonder Woman statue because on the shelf she looks absolutely fantastic!

5.0 out of 5 stars Arguably the most beautiful female statue/figure EVER!, September 5, 2008
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
I completely adore this statue of Wonder Woman. This is really the ultimate, definitive and most visually captured figurine of the Amazonian Princess! In My opinion it shows how Wonder Woman is supposed to be and how she is supposed to look. Just look at her! She is one hundred and ten percent female and every bit of her is pure muscle! Her arms and shoulders are very muscular and her legs are huge! I think the breast proportions is necessary because she is a big, tall and muscular woman. The muscles in her back and abs is phenomenal! She has good hands as well with red fingernail polish gripping one of the Serpents with one and gonna knock him cold with her big fist. Some of her armor and clothes is sculpted and some is just painted. Her boots and head band are sculpted good. She has long black hair blowing in the breeze from the fight. Her face is gorgeous with bright blue eyes and red but not to bright lipstick. In My opinion she resembles Bones (Emily Deschanel) from the TV series which is completely all right because I wanted her to play Wonder Woman in the future movie because in My opinion she's perfect for the role. Now, the Serpents are also greatly sculpted with deep, dark eyes, visible tongues and sharp looking teeth plus with pointy ears and spikes on their backs. Adam Hughes & Tim Bruckner did a tremendous job and this might be the greatest piece they will ever do! DC Direct is not known for great quality in their action figure but the durability of the statue is okay. The statue is breakable but just handling it won't cause it to shatter. I just recommend be careful with it and display in the direction you want. The paint apps is actually good. There was a couple tiny white specs oh her hair and one of the stars on her tights appeared to rub off but this is still OK. Its nice that it has those coaster cushions on the bottom so it'll stay in place and there is a cool Wonder Woman logo and DC copyright on the bottom as well. The only thing that is disappointing is the high price which she is worth it. She is almost impossible to find and is not in scale with DC Direct action figures, Mattel's DC action figures and Marvel Legends. If you are looking for a great and wonderful Wonder Woman addition to your collection add this stature but if you are looking to buy just one Wonder Woman statue or want a definite Wonder Woman figurine THIS is the one to get because she is PERFECT! The pictures don't her justice as she looks way better in person! This is truly a magnificent piece as Diana, the Amazonian Princess looks immortal and is so remarkable as I am completely amazed of how this great female form from comics can look so life like and so unbelievably beautiful!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Despite parts sounding like a Media Venture score, it has great moments!, May 10, 2008
This review is from: 10,000 Bc (Audio CD)
The 10,000 BC score has its down falls due to its mixture of sounding like a Media Ventures score. In some parts it sounds like the sound that you hear in a Hans Zimmer/Harry Gregson-Willimas/John Powell/Trevor Rabin/Mark Mancina score etc. Most of the score was composed by Harald Kloser and while I'm a big fan of his work particularly the Thirteenth Floor and AVP: Alien vs. Predator scores I'm a bit disappointed that he and/or his partner Thomas Wander chose this sound. However this doesn't necessarily make it a bad score. It is actually a very good score. It has a good love theme and exciting action pieces. Tracks five, eight, ten, eighteen and nineteen are quite action packed! There is very good choir present and unique tribal voices from several different cultures as well like in track three. There is an awesome epic piece that is track two. There is a great female voice in the beginning and the track becomes extraordinary! You can just picture the great pyramids of Egypt that was seen in the movie and the music was perfect for that scene! The only complaint that I have about this score is the Media Venture sound but other than that its a very good score and one of the best to arrive in 2008 thus far!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great unique & creepy Score!, May 10, 2008

This is such an underrated score and I don't understand why. The sound is so good. Ottman made it so creepy as you can tell by the electronics and instruments that this has to do with alien life forms particularly in tracks thirteen and seventeen. For example when 1:39 hits in Carol's Wild Ride you can tell that is so and I love it when a composer does that for a film score! In fact, those two tracks are really great and this score is one unique piece of work that I've heard in a long while. Track one is actually the End Credits. The movie is really good and John Ottman composed the score perfectly! One of his best and one of the big surprise scores of 2007!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great figure!, April 10, 2006
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This is an excellent figure as he has great sculpting, tremendous quality, superb articulation, cloth clothing and an incredible amount of weapons and accessories! There are several different ways to use the weapons like attach swords together for longer swords, attach weapons onto guns for more power etc. For ages 10 and up in My opinion. I strongly recommend this figure and in My opinion this is the series of the year! Bottom line this is a must have figure if you are a big G.I. Joe fan!
