1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for...., January 24, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was a senior in college last year, and large papers were the norm. Eventually the Engineering computer lab was always full and the printer was down, empty, or out of ink most of the time.

I reluctantly decided to save a lot of hassle, stress, and uncertainty and buy a printer. Well, it lasted less than a year. I know that paying 100 for a printer is just asking for trouble; i'd never seen a good printer at this price range. It never seems to matter what brand, a good printer just doesn't exist at that price.

This one is no exception. From day one, the paper feed had issues, You couldn't safely put more than 3 sheets into the paper tray and expect the printer to not function. It wasn't before long that only one sheet could be placed into the printer at a time. After that, that one sheet would jam about half the time.

Finally, the feeding assembly started to make noise when trying to feed. Now, it just doesn't feed paper at all without jamming and/or giving me "5100" error and stops functioning.

I knew that a cheap printer wasnt gonna last, but even for a cheap printer, this Canon is awful. I did not even get to printing 100 pages, so my print jobs came out to 1+ dollar per page. That's quality!

I'd rag on this printer a lot more if it weren't for the simple fact that ALL printers at this price range are screwy, unpredictable, ink-wasting pieces of junk.

5.0 out of 5 stars Robust, February 14, 2013

Gives the Raspberry Pi a lot of open air space while giving a SOLID protective case around the board. This Case was an alternative to a different case that has long been sold out, im actually glad my first choice was sold out, this case is perfect.

I don't know what I plan to do with my Raspberry Pi, so the cutouts for accessing various contact points on the Pi is a really nice touch.

5.0 out of 5 stars For Raspberri Pi, February 14, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It works perfectly, formats without a fuss, and seems speedy enough. I'm sure there are other reviews that go into much more depth of read/write speed and all the technicalities, but if you're like me and just simply needed an SD card, Sandisk NEVER fails me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Camera for the Price, February 14, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great quality pictures, Surprisingly great video and audio as well. It does all it's supposed to do. Nothing about the camera gives you that cheap or flimsy feeling, it's delicate like any small complex electronic device, but feels and preforms great.

The only con is that professional reviews are accurate when they say that there is a bit of a wait between shots. But for the price I knew to not expect an amazing camera. However, this camera far exceeds my expectations for cameras in this price range. I should clarify by saying that it's not some cheapo camera, It's a fine camera and performs great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome., February 14, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
On dry calloused feet, this thing is amazing.

Without getting into the gross details, I used it for the first time, first pass and thought for sure I took all the skin off my foot. Nope. Once you get your skin smooth and soft enough, the Rasp doesn't remove soft skin.

Being a bit of a weirdo I decided to see how hard it would be to go too far. It actually seems difficult to do. Against callous skin, the Rasp smooths VERY quickly. But once you reach soft, hydrated skin, the Rasp does not remove much, if any skin at all. It seems VERY safe and IS very effective.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not great for grasping very fine objects., February 14, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Forceps grip tight to small things like paper, small screws, shielded wires, etc.

But if you get to objects the size of hairs, very fine wire or thin needles, these two things would slip between the gaps of the forceps. The "teeth" are uneven leaving areas of the grip surface at various depths of contact, from crushingly tight to visible gaps. I would even imagine something like dental floss could slip through if it was in the wrong spot, for example.

Probably good for hobbyists, but for medical use or extreme precision work, not so much.

Sicko [Explicit]

5.0 out of 5 stars The Stanhope that always makes you cringe., February 14, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sicko [Explicit] (MP3 Music)
First, if you saw The Man Show, that is this Doug Stanhope, but isn't who he is as a comic. Before knowing his stand-up, I too didn't think much of Doug's comedy. But I was really wrong. "Sicko" isn't some clever title or way to get interest. Calling Stanhope a "Sicko" is about as a legitimate use of the word sicko as it gets.

Make sure you get a little taste of Stanhope from youtube or somewhere before getting ANY albums by Doug Stanhope.

His humor is very dark, and definitely not for everybody. Personally, Sicko brought me to tears laughing...many, many, times. IF you know Doug Stanhope's stand-up style and like it, Sicko stands up to that misanthropic, bitter, anger fueled comedy that defines all of Doug's comedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little keyboard., February 14, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For me, the range was impressive, at least 10 feet. They keys feel just a bit stiff but robust. The touchpad works very well, however just a hair fickle. Instant plug and play on windows XP and 7.

For the price, the minor shortcomings do not diminish the quality. I love this little thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Louis Black being Lewis Black, February 14, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'll leave the other, more in depth reviews to do the analytical work.

Simply, this is Lewis Black. It's easy to go to youtube to check out any comedian, and if you did and like what you say of Lewis Black, this Album is worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Profound beyond a simple movie experience, June 18, 2012
This review is from: The Room (DVD)
While The Room may have a few minor flaws, the artistic impact this movie creates on our culture should not be overlooked. The movie is immediately personal to the viewers as they are introduced to future husband Johnny and his future wife Lisa. The audience is immediately enveloped in the love and compassion of the couple's beautiful relationship. As strife descends upon The protagonist Johnny, he continues to keep up his altruistic life of benevolence and care for friends and family while maintaining his philosophical wit and greater understanding of the world that surrounds him. Only when the ultimate, and truly inevitable evil tries to bring him down is Johnny truly tested.

The movie goes through the hardships and woes of life. Without spoiling too much, the story winds through a story of love intertwined with rich storytelling into the woes of cancer, the joy of pregnancy, cowardice, a beautiful scene discussing the romance in chocolate, and troubles with alcoholism and drug use. Complex and well written characters evolve and transition into new people; sometimes ENTIRELY. One exhilarating, shocking scene where the friends prepare tuxes for the wedding, involves Johnny's best friend Mark changing into a new person, to the surprise of the friends and movie viewers alike.

There is one thing that may turn people off: if you are not a big fan of Football, it may be distracting since it ends up being an integral plot point to the entire film. Entire friendships are based upon the sport and is heavily involved with many aspects of the story. Another noticeable short-coming is the poor acting done by the actor portraying Chris-R, which can be overlooked but is enough to distract the viewer from the intriguing world contained within "The Room".

Overall, a fantastic film. Likely not on par with legendary films like The Godfather or Apocalypse Now!, but a classic none the less.
