1.0 out of 5 stars Good lord, this woman gives advice for a living?, October 17, 2014
The unbridled arrogance and sense of entitlement on display here is absolutely ridiculous. I have rarely encountered anyone so deeply unaware of how they come off, or so deeply enamored of themselves or their literary voice.

5.0 out of 5 stars a funny and touching debut from a singular and original comic ..., September 11, 2014

Jason Nash has long been one of comedy's most candid and incisive satirists of marriage and domesticity and Jason Nash Is Married is his magnum opus, a funny and touching debut from a singular and original comic voice.

Standing Up: A Memoir of a Funny (Not Always) Life
Standing Up: A Memoir of a Funny (Not Always) Life
by Marion Grodin
Edition: Hardcover
Price: $17.44

4.0 out of 5 stars Raw honesty and brutal candor in a winningly honest memoir, December 26, 2013
This memoir from Marion Grodin, the comedian daughter of Charles, benefits from a sharp comic voice and a wonderful gift for characterization. Grodin writes of her parents beautifully and tenderly and compassionately and the book is blessed with a rare and wonderful candor. Her tale can be awfully grim, however, and the jokier elements of the book detract from the emotion and the drama but this is nevertheless a brave and compelling book from someone with a helluva story to tell, albeit one a little on the morose side.

1.0 out of 5 stars Something of a travesty, November 10, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is literally just amateurish, home video footage of people outside showings of THE ROOM. If you love the ROOM as I do, don't waste your time with this. Instead, read Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell's The Disaster Artist, which is wonderful and an utter delight.

5.0 out of 5 stars genius, September 19, 2013

This book is absolutely insane and absolutely brilliant. It delights in the ways words can be used and misused, twisted, contorted and abused. Absolutely nuts and super duper inspired. Good stuff.

1.0 out of 5 stars Irredeemable: literally, the worst, August 12, 2013
Dear God is this some misogynistic hot garbage. How this viciously misogynistic drivel became a best seller and pop culture phenomenon is beyond me. This is arguably the single worst book I've ever hate-read, and I have read Dustin Diamond's memoir.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh dear lord was this terrible, February 7, 2013
This book features great subject matter but was completely unreadable. A massive, staggering disappointment. I could not conceivably have been less impressed by this self-indulgent abomination.

5.0 out of 5 stars This album is absolutely fantastic, October 31, 2012
What a fresh of breath air this album is. It's an impeccably crafted album out of time, a 70s-style AM pop-rock opus full of songs that are funny and sweet and catchy and gentle and underlyingly sad. I would love this album even if the man who created it wasn't a good friend and a great guy.
